Marque de Bourdeaux

Marque had been prepared for this. It was a risky role to take on, the runaway nobleman. Such a question was only sensible for the knight-in-training to pose, or any who had half a functional mind. Favian had been missing for such a length of time, without nary a trace. This would be Marque's most challenging yet rewarding role to this point. "You have your sensibilities about you. This is good. I know how unbelievable my own story sounds at this juncture and am prepared to prove my word. Behold."

Marque reached into his dirty pockets and pulled out a nice, well woven piece of cotton cloth, the kind cut from the same material one would expect the rich to wear. Upon it was emblazoned the sigil of House Bryce. A prop the actor had been preparing, and one that had cost him a pretty coin, it was to be used in a future production he had little taste in. A piece he mocked for lacking soul, a propaganda piece for Lord Bryce's political agenda. Yet the cloth's quality could not be contested, and the ink had been applied with painstaking detail. If ever there was a well forged prop, it would be this one.

"My birthright, taken on the day I left to join the commoners in order to better investigate this conspiracy. Young as I was, the thought had occurred that I should need to verify my identity to reclaim my throne. Though I now have no such interest, this should suffice to prove my identity, good sir?" Once he had flashed the prop before Col just long enough for the squire to comprehend what it was, Marque did the same for the two other men sharing his presence, then pocketed the thing once more.
The danger had passed. Anybody could sense as much. Most of the King Crab's crew were either dead or completely incapacitated, and John Krabbe himself had not enough fight left in him to chase after the Red Rums anyway. Besides that, he was an honorable man of his word. No, the South Blue was peaceful once more. Or at least peaceful enough. As Bonesword posed his question to the bounty hunter, he gave out a fairly weak laugh. "Kookiooki. Please. Unlike you pirates, I'm the honest and honorable sort. Besides, I've checked your charges. Worst you've done is royally mess with some nobility by jostling the sticks up their collective asses. I'm not too worried about you." That's when he suddenly recalled that one of the pirates, Feya, had fallen overboard. "Oh, right! Hey! Shrimp Brigade Pink! Go pull that woman back aboard-where is Pink?" He looked around, but couldn't see the Shrimp Brigade's sixth member anywhere. "Crud. Must've fallen over himself when Saban went psycho."

With that the man forced himself back to his feet, albeit painfully, and tossed a flotation ring overboard in Feya's direction just in case she had any problems staying afloat. When he turned back around he was being approached by two other pirates. The illustrious Captain Cedric D. Boone, and his prisoner Wafer D. Kite. Were the two possibly related? Eh, didn't matter anymore. As Boone requested that Krabbe help find their missing member, the bounty hunter gestured over the side to where he had tossed the flotation ring. Before he spoke anything back Kite gathered everyone's attention to... Seriously? He was making death threats now? Pfft.

"Don't kid yourself, kookiookiooki! Don't pretend like anybody here is still in fighting condition. Your crew knew the dangers of flying a jolly roger and were willing to pay for it with their lives. They did so proudly, and with more honor than I can attribute to most scallywag pirates. Why don't you honor their memory, eh kid? Go sail again and live for their memory." That seemed rather dismissive, yet his words rang with a twinge of sincerity. Did he really mean it? Regardless, he didn't seem to be paying much attention to Kite anymore. He turned back to address Captain Cedric D. Boone.

"Don't equate my age to my experience, nor my authority. Saban was a monster and I did my best to hold his leash. You all injured him enough that the leash broke and now he's loose somewhere again. Bah!" He waved his hand, and made a pincing motion with the fingers as though he still had his crab claw. "Anyway, like I said, I'm a man of my word. No more fighting, you're all free to go. But since you're heading to Clock Town, I take it you're going to stock up on supplies before heading to the Grand Line? Take this." Krabbe unstrapped from his wrist some kind of glass ball with a compass needle inside of it, then handed it to Boone.

"Consider it a token of thanks. That's called a log pose, something I picked up from Saban after he left the Grand Line. From what he told me, normal compasses don't work there so you've got to use one of these. Honestly I didn't pick up any of the specifics as to how it works, but from what he told me no ship could last ten seconds on those seas without one. Now..." Krabbe cracked his neck and rolled his shoulders before meeting Boone eye to eye once more. He had a look of fierce determination. It was not one of malice, but more one of challenge and excitement. "Get the hell off my ship, criminal." He punctuated with a small wink.

Near the horizon, floating on a piece of debris barely large enough for a single man to sit upon, sat a familiar face watching and observing as the Rum Runner left the scene of battle successfully. Though he had run from the whole ordeal, it was not an act of cowardice, no. He had had orders to watch and observe. To gather information. Things got too dicey, so he had to pull out. If he stayed any longer, he'd have to show off his true combat skills, and that would have broken his cover. No, unacceptable. Best to fall back for the time being and report in his findings. The blonde man in pink armor reached into the breastplate and pulled out a small den den mushi. He pressed a small button on the snail's shell, and the creature began to communicate through radio waves.

"I'd like to report in. Code phrase sigma gamma twenty-seven."

"Acknowledged. What is your update?" came a smooth feminine voice from the den den mushi.

"The target has been lost. Former Impel Down jailer Shotaro Saban has eluded me. Turns out he had another body somewhere and recalled himself to it."

"Understood. What is your assessment of the situation?"

"There's no need to pursue further. Saban's much weaker than he used to be and is no longer of any use to the World Government."

"I will advise our superiors of your findings. Report back to base."

"There's one more thing that I'd like to report. To you, off the record."

The woman on the other end paused for a few seconds before responding. "Continue."

"That person you're so interested in. I found him. He's a pirate now, and sails a ship called the Rum Runner."

Another pause. "Excellent news. Keep tailing him, Mizu." Click, the den den mushi shut off, leaving the man to his own thoughts as he floated aimlessly on the sea. Then suddenly it hit him.

"But how am I going to tail him on this piece of driftwood?!?!"

@Eklispe I do believe that you are up, my boi.
@ProPro
This one's a BOMB. Tell me if i should just repost to Characters right away, cause that's just how bombastic this is.

You got it, slap him on over since I approved him on Discord.
Merry Christmas to all of my players! I give unto you 1000 xp to spend anyway you like! ;)

Someone whispers in ear from just off screen.

Really? Oh. Ok. Well I have just been informed that this isn't a game that involves xp progression, meaning my gift is null and void. Huh. You'd think I should have known that, since it's my game and all. Oh well. Still, a very happy celebration and holiday to you all!

The Cereal Killer

@Lugubrious@BCTheEntity

Runch felt somewhat disturbed by how his pellets had turned into some kind of static, then faded from existence. It wasn't the girl doing anything, that would mean they were blowing up. Then it must have been the guy, yet the journal indicated that his stand could nullify stand attacks. Did his devil fruit qualify as a stand in this world? Then why couldn't he see other stands? Bah, it was too much to think about, and he was still hurtling toward the ground! But at least the two college representatives got out of the way! "Let's try this again... Bori bori pillar! Crumbleberry!"

The pirate extended both hands and out emerged another pillar, much like the one he had used when the water launched him through the air. This time he modified which recipe he used to better suit his landing: a soft crumbly cereal for the hard, unforgiving ground. The pillar collided with stone and pirate collided with cereal, and that blew apart in every direction like a big dust cloud. Amidst the center of it lay K. Runch on his belly, butt sticking straight up in a comical fashion, but none the worse for wear. "OMNOMNOMNOM!" he cheerfully laughed, jumping back up to his feet. Now what to do? Both of those College kids split. The girl jumped in the water, so best to leave that one to Motley and go after her brother. That was the original plan anyway, right?

"Bori bori wall!" The pirate took off after Davian into the building he had run, blocking himself off from a sneak attack in the back. Having to fight these invisible powers had a way of making one quite paranoid. Justifiably, as it turned out, as his wall didn't last more than three seconds before it had been blown to smithereens. Well now that I'm out of sight, hopefully those seeking missiles won't get a bead on me. The boy shouldn't be too much trouble once I find him, but landing a blow could be very hard. The cap'n unsheathed his spoonsaber as well as his flintlock pistol in his offhand, taking care to reload it with another honeytrap shot. With both weapons primed in front of him, he was ready to defend himself in case Davian jumped around the corner for a sneak attack.

His considered that he was completely blind, while his opponent would have any number of invisible eyes to see him through. That gave Davian the edge in this hotel, with so many corners and blind spots. He'd just have to hurry along to find the kid, and weather out any attacks. At least that stand couldn't directly attack him... "Listen up!" he called out as he rounded another corner. "This is Cap'n Bartholomew K. Runch! I don't pretend to know why you've suddenly attacked us, but if you stop right now, I'll be happy to let this all go and finish the tournament in peace! If you keep on attacking us, well... I won't let you get in the way of the perfect ship of freedom!"
Right outside the HQ. I thought you weren't reading my posts haha, good to know :)

I haven't been, but I did notice the header. That said, if they are literally right outside the place, then they should be hearing some interesting sounds shortly...
@Spiffy Swarm isn't really at "Minutemen Headquarters" anymore, right? Just thought I'd point out that you're still heading his posts with that. :P
@Lugubrious@BCTheEntity I'll be looking at getting Runch posted for at lunch, hopefully. Unless something comes up in the meantime, anyway.

@Roughdragon1 It's been a month since you posted with Malveil. Just thought I'd poke you, since my side character is currently following him.
