I started RP before double digit age but you couldn't have gotten an admission I was under 18 under threat of death. Kids just casually admiting it online now is wild.

Ranbu no Izayoi

Summoned by the light of the crystal, Cid appeared in a radiant burst, standing up straight as he surveyed where he had been summoned. And blinked.

”Garuda’s rise? Why did…?” He stretched a hand out, closing his eyes as the old sage murmured a chant under his breath. Aether began to gather and well up before him...only to fizzle and dissipate when it was at its greatest concentration. The blowback of the dissipation forced Cid to open his eyes, his brow furrowed.

"What happened? Garuda is already manifested upon the material plane, but only in part. She cannot be summoned in truth like this. Was she sealed?"

One recounting of events later, Cid stroked his beard, his expression deeply troubled.

"This is a situation I've not encountered before, in all mine years upon this star. To have even part of Garuda's component aether absorbed into Ifrit's equivalent to Eve...no Eidolon can remain on this plane in multiple incarnations at once. It may not have been this Garland's intent, but the fact remains that Garuda's power is lost to you now unless this Hellfire is either defeated or uses up the aether he stole from the South Wind."

Izayoi nodded her thanks as Galahad began to heal her wounds, adding in the power of her own Cure materia in order to alleviate the burden upon him. With both that and Cid's explanation complete, she rose to her feet as she beheld the small patrol of three Skaeller airships begin to descend in response to Eliane's flare, the leadmost ship being the only one to touch ground.

From it emerged a trio of soldiers in the uniform of the air patrol, who stopped to salute the moment they saw Eliane's uniform and chevrons.

"Dame Commander! High Command has briefed us of your mission, and of Valheim's breach of our defense line. Our failure to account for their stealth frigate is inexcusable, but we can still offer you passage to Falcon's Nest. Please, if you'll follow us aboard."

Reeva Bonner

Oh for the love of-

Reeva resisted the urge to sigh in front of her newfound potential party, merely furrowing her brow instead. A drunk dwarf and a noble, of all things. It wasn't as if they were exactly concealing it. The black-haired one was clearly quite the sheltered woman. The whitemane much less so. Bodyguard? Attendant? Paramour? She could see all of their ranks from their badges, as well. The dwarf was as expected, but the two Hundi...

...What the hell? A copper was one thing. What was a goddesses-damned silver doing taking this work on? Definitely a bodyguard, then. Probably a romantic pairing too, judging from the body language. Well, that explained why there was a silver carrying a copper. In theory, it'd even out. In practice...

"Right, well, first things first. Name's Reeva. Pleasure. Here's the listing, if you're interested." She picked up the flyer she'd lifted from Abigail's table, passing it over towards the dwarf woman. She glanced over towards the two Hundi again, catching the eye of the white-haired one that had glanced over first. "If you're wanting to come hunt down goblins, I'll not say no. Though..." Her head inclined in Corinne's direction, while keeping an eye on Liliane. "Take it that the price for letting someone of your calibur along is letting her tag along too. Long as she knows enough to not lose her head, I'll not turn the help down."

A pause.

"She does know that, right?"
Ranbu no Izayoi

Shot after shot pinged off of Garland's blade and the sturdier parts of his armor, the Valheimr general striving to keep his remaining pauldron between his body and Eliane's line of fire. A large Firaga fireball surged from his hand in response, aimed at the ground to catch Eliane cleanly in the blast radius on an attempted dodge. But that still cost him time.

As she had with Adrammelech, Izayoi came crashing down upon Garland, her blade greedily drawing in the aetheric bolt of lightning and redirecting it down upon the black knight in one fell cleave. For his part, Garland raised his blade to block, the electricity radiating off of the samurai's Raijingeki strike coursing off of her blade and down through his own, his armor, and himself. Garland remained silent even as lightning wracked his body, not even letting out a grunt as his arms trembled from it and the downward force of Izayoi's swing.

When the electricity fizzled away, Izayoi found herself atop blank air for a moment as Garland yanked his blade back with force, his free hand plucking her out of midair by the throat and strangling her.

"Your reputation is almost deserved." He hissed towards the Limbtaker, who snarled in response, struggling to reach for her wakizashi with her off hand. "But parlor tricks such as that will avail you little. Farewell, General." He raised his claymore, preparing to finish Izayoi off, when a hazy, grasping hand reached his greave. One quick look down at what had gripped his ankle was all it took: it left Garland taken off-guard by Chisato's cannon, and his only alarm was the sound of it firing. The shot crashed straight into his back, tearing through his cape before impacting against plate.

As Garland let a pained retch out, his grip on Izayoi loosened to the point where the Mystrel managed to suck in enough air to reach for her short blade, hastily slicing it across a connecting joint in his gauntlet to force him to drop her. She beat a hasty retreat, backstepping several paces before falling to one knee, heaving for air as she glared death at Garland.

___

Even through the pain of the Dispelja, Garuda regarded Esben for a brief moment, as if judging his worth...and stretched a claw out towards Esben's notebook, her intent obvious-

Bang.

She recoiled, a hole left in her head, and began to break apart into aether, some being sucked into Hellfire. The majority of Garuda's component aether dissipated, leaving only the source of the noise still standing:

Garland, his mantle in shreds, missing a pauldron, and his back armor in ruins, still stood, catching his breath as his left hand held a massive pistol, its barrel still smoking.

"There will be none of that. If we cannot secure Garuda's power, then neither shall you. Now, shall we continue? This dance is far from finished-"

"General!" A desperate cry came from the airship, now seemingly in the process of engine ignition. "We're out of time! Skaeler air patrols have caught on to our presence! Two minutes until they're within range!"

Garland regarded the news with stony silence, before a snap of his fingers practically warped Hellfire straight aboard the airship deck in a burst of magic.

"Unfortunate." He remarked, shifting around in his damaged armor to grip his sword. "Then we declare this a draw. Steel yourselves well for our next meeting, Warriors of Light. Pray that you survive." The same trick he just pulled saw himself aboard the stealth frigate as well, the small airship taking off as the sound of griffins and light engines alike began to roar in the distance.

From their position atop the ruined hill, all the Kirins could do was watch as the Valheimr incursion force made its escape, the Skaeler air patrol just now coming into sight.
Renar Hagen

That...wasn't how Renar expected to be recognized. A friend of a friend, because he'd made idle conversation about a novel with the First Princess back during the ball incident? While gratifying to note that evidently he was remembered by name, it also complicated the matter in front of him right this moment. It meant he couldn't just dismiss the Hundi woman offhand, lest his reputation suffer should it leak back to a royal, of all things.

"That would explain much, yes." He replied in an amicable, light tone. "Though I have to confess some surprise that I would be remembered so, when all I did within the First Princess's presence was discuss a novel with her. And briefly, at that." The best part was that it wasn't even a false statement. He was genuinely surprised that all of that had led to what was occurring in front of him. Though Sir Rolan being mistaken for Gerard of all people brought a smirk to his face. Oh, he'd enjoy telling the latter about this at some point.

"Ah, not particularly." Renar interjected, sharing a look with Rolan. "While I'd invite you to guess, t'would be cruel to provide a question to which you have no way to answer, considering this one had never met Her Highness before. Ought I do the honor of introducing you, or are you to do that yourself, Ser?" He posed the question to Rolan, inwardly annoyed at having to entertain any of this. How long was this farce going to have to go on...?
Vemmon

Slowly, it began to stir. With as much corruption removed and data stabilized as possible, Vemmon was no longer in a critical state of active deterioration. Vemmon gave a shaky twitch, opening its eyes once more to regard everything around itself, taking in information like a sieve. Instinctively, it knew that the tall bipeds were Not Like the other lifeforms clustered around. With the exception of the winged one. Similar appearances but...still different?

Vemmon groaned, forcing itself up onto its feet. For whatever reason, it felt...drawn? Compelled? Towards the orange-tinted unknown.

"Diagnostic report:" It uttered, recalling that there had been a query requesting its current status.
"Repair process finished. Process not able to finalize. Approximately fifty percent of remaining data still fragmented. Status: functional."

It peered up at Siobhan once more, head tilted curiously as its tail waved lazily behind. This was the one who had spoken to it.

"Designation: Siobhan. Confirm? Query: drawn towards unknown classification Siobhan...data not found. Requesting extrapolation on biolink function. No documentation present within programming."

Something within its code suggested that this method of communication Vemmon was employing was...not right. Such that units such as itself were not supposed to talk like this.

"Current communication patterns inefficient. Engaging language learning. Unit will be recording voice samples for synthesis. Requesting continuation."
Ranbu no Izayoi

Izayoi grit her teeth as she slammed the tip of her sword into the ground, using it as a crutch to brace herself from the Quake spell destabilizing her. By the time she'd pulled herself together, Miina had already disappeared and Rudolf engaged, the latter lunging forward as swiftly as he could to strike Garland...!

...Only for the dark knight to catch Rudolf's blow on the flat of his enormous blade, the golden glow of his helmet's eyes regarding the young man for a moment before a gauntleted fist lashed out. Garland's free hand smashed into Rudolf's helm, knocking the man to the ground and leaving him concussed.

Eliane's rapid dive and gunfire were met with swift, economical motions of the immense cleaver, Garland using it as a shield against her gunfire before parrying her thrusts. The grenade was left within a gap between his pauldron and arm, and Esben's shot detonated it before the general could react, engulfing him in an explosion that revealed the entire pauldron knocked clean from his body once the smoke cleared, as well as smoking shrapnel sticking out of the side of his helmet. Garland raised his sword and started forward, only to be forced to parry a trio of Izayoi's strikes, smashing the flat of his sword into her stomach and launching her backward the way she came.

"Impressive." He allowed, taking a moment to survey his ruined armor. "I see now how you defeated my Empire's gross misuse of funds, materiel, and research, and Reisa beside." Garland paused, evaluating the Kirins once more. "...There were more of you." A casual swipe of his hand, and a storm of ice rained down upon the space between himself and the grappling Eidolons, clearly intent on catching out any of those that tried to sneak past him. Having rushed in first, Selene and Eos took the brunt of the spell, barely managing to get their casts off before the Blizzaga crashed into them, dissipating their forms for the time being. For their part, Miina and Chisato were faced with the choice between falling back or facing near-certain damage.

As this occurred, Izayoi pushed herself up to her feet, cluching where the blunt strike had impacted her gut with a glower. That exchange and Rudolf's state led her to a single conclusion, in no uncertain terms.

"Have a care!" She ground out, hunching down and preparing an iai strike. "His strength matches my-" The samurai cut herself off before she could say "master". Not anymore. Not in that abominable half-life. "-the encounter from the desert! With sanity intact and magic, to boot!" In that context, it was almost unfair how much natural talent could be placed within one mortal frame. Nevertheless, she surged forward again, yelling as she leapt into the air.

"Lightning in front of my position, now!"
Reeva Bonner

She'd gone to take a gander at the available jobs...and started in surprise as some hooded lady with an axe just outright ripped some listings off the board for her own perusal.

"Oi! Get back here with those, I wasn't done looking!"

Reeva followed after the apparent huntswoman, groaning with exasperation as Abigail wound up...at the bar. Of course. It wasn't even noon! Nevertheless, the rogue started to peer over the other woman's shoulder as the listings were at least generously spread out across the table, even if she still thought it was a stupid idea.

"You know all this is doing is getting people to crowd your table, right? Anyways, let's see here..."

The investigations and such seemed asinine, and the gold ring was...well, she didn't particularly want to deal with spiders. That only really left goblins and the undead as viable targets. If the client wanted Irons at minimum, the little green bastards were probably well entrenched in whatever hole they fortified. Even then, that still made them more suited to her skillset than dealing with undead, considering the lack of vital organs for her to target. Reeva could deal with the latter, of course. It was just far more of a hassle.

"Right, goblins sound good to me." She nodded in response to Abigail, before starting to look around the tavern, cupping a hand in front of her mouth to project her voice. "Anyone else want to take this goblin job? Irons and up only! If you're copper, find some rats or little old ladies!"
Ranbu no Izayoi

Weeks upon weeks of facing the worst that Valheim, the Blight, and the Eidolons could muster had forged the Kirins into a unit that an ordinary platoon of men stood little chance facing. Their collective efforts decimated the Valheimr ranks, with Izayoi scything through the last few even as their leader fell from gunshots. There wasn't any time to waste. Clearly, Valheim didn't want them near Garuda. With few words spoken afterward, the party pressed on uphill.

At the summit, they beheld a large, humanoid birdlike creature facing off against what appeared to be...Ifrit? If it were bipedal and far more humanlike, at the very least. The impersonator of the Eidolon of Fire had Garuda clenched in its hands and slammed against the ground, choking the life out of the Eidolon of Wind as aether flowed from the latter to the former. If Eve and Siren were any indications beforehand, this pseudo-Ifrit was almost certainly another one of Valheim's mad projects.

And before them stood a man, clad in dark armor, a rich purple cape, and a horned helmet terrifying to behold. A great slab of metal that served as a sword stood planted in the ground next to him as the figure turned, having seemingly been overseeing the battle. Around the edge of the hill and near the airship stood several more Valheimr soldiers, weapons lowered as they beheld the brawl between Eidolons.

"Ah, and you would be Reisa's killers." He turned in full, with little care for Garuda's anguished screams in the background behind him. "Were she my direct subordinate, I would owe you a debt of blood. But as it stands, I can be satisfied with delaying you." One hand thrust his cape out, issuing orders to his men.

"Start the airship, and secure Hellfire aboard once he's finished absorbing Garuda. The enemy won't be adding another Eidolon to the forces they can muster. I will ensure our escape personally." His other hand reached for his massive greatsword, hefting it up easily with one hand.

"Now come, Warriors of Light! I, Garland, will knock you all down!" Earthen aether formed in his free hand as he roared, and the Valheimr general slammed that palm down into the ground, sending a Quake spell cascading towards the Kirins as a group.

Renar Hagen

Renar was practically ambushed upon leaving his tent. He beheld the too-eager, Hundi, and most likely Ithillin noble with a measure of apprehension and disdain that he did his best to avoid showing on his face, instead schooling his expression into one of idle neutrality. How wonderful. Just the type of go-getter pluck he utterly disdained.

And she knew of him. Renar was aware enough of his own status to understand full well that he ought to not be that famous yet such that some foreign noble fighter knew of him on sight. So why did this Lizaela recognize him? He could think of half a dozen reasons off the top of his head, and few of them boded well, if any.

Nevertheless, there was little point speculating without a more accurate picture. Renar fixed a slightly more open expression on his face, offering a brief dip of his head.

"You're very well-informed, Lady Beaux. I am he, yes. Might I ask how you know, exactly? I'd not been aware that I was much of a recognizable figure, especially among foreign warriors."
