4 months into this hole 'being a responsible adult thing' and I've come to a conclusion: It sucks and I want to go back to the days where I didn't have to plan out my game time.

@Pathfinder I will admit that my better ideas are almost always of the darker persuasion. Tormented characters are also something I like to see, which is why I connected alot with Lapus Lazuli when she showed up.

What can I say, I'm good at making psycho villains, tragic characters, and tragic, unwilling villains. Just where my mind is at creatively.

Edit: That being said, I'm no stranger to making happy, lighter characters and ideas when given the proper inspiration, it's just that darker tones flow more easily from my metaphorical pen than lighter ones. Besides, my villain has a way out, as previously mentioned, aquamarine can heal him of his mental damages and whatnot if assisted by Emerald's enhancement power. It wouldn't be easy, but it would be plausible.
This cluster talk has given me an interesting idea to add on to my devourer thing.Since it's an untested protype, it bound to have something wrong with it. One thing could be that absorbing gems could damage and fracture the psyche, and the longer the absorbed gem stays, the worse it gets, creating a whirlwind of fractured memories, emotions, and pain that fets funneled into the subject, eventually turning them into a mindless berserker if not treated.
Reggie gulped as the dark haired individual casually threatened to kill him, the certainty in his words making the homeless former heir quick to follow his orders. Hedid quirks his brow at the man's mentioning of food, and almost asked him what kind of food did such a being eat, though he quuckly clamped his mouth shut before he could make a sound. As he step out of Bloodstone's way, he suddenly thought of an idea for winning some good will from the creature.

"Uh, if you're hungry, I've got a packet of beef jerky in the side pouch of my sportsbag that you're more than welcome to aa long as you, ya know, don't kill me."

That was one of several packs of the stuff, and a box of Saltines as well. He'd gotten lucky one day while begging, as a rich guy had dropped him a 100 instead of a 1 by mistake. He'd taken that money to buy as many easily preserved foods as possible. Losing that pack would set him back some, but if it helped him keep his heart beating another day(and helped get him a closer look at this guy's tech), it would be worth the cost.

@PathfinderOnly just understood thats what Clusters were and I kinda agree. Nothing they did was actively malicious, though I could see why they would act as such if they became strong enough to do so or gained any form of intelligence.
@AkayaofthemoonThat brings to mind another awesome cartoon, but this ain't a crossover RP so it can't be that.

@Kronshi It wouldn't be a newly born gem, though, not in the traditional sense, but an Homeworkd gem that was taken to a special facility and experimented on, having their entire being be rewritten and simplified down to one concept: Hunt and Devour gems. However, before it was ever awoken for duty, the facility got caught in the battle and was annhilated, sealing the Gem away forever. There would be some internal conflict in the creature, but it would be hard for the original mind to take over given the strength of the impulses given off by the rewire. Aquamarine could possibly fix it, if assisted by Emerald's enhancement, but it would be difficult and dangerous if the beast were to reform during the process.
@KronshiHe's basically the embodiment of 'Curiosity killed the cat', so yeah.

On another note, I thought up an idea for a story arc for later on, once the gems get a little stronger. Another gem awakens in the Kinder Garten, one bred for a singukar purpose: To Devour all in it's path. Basically, a powerful gem awakens who can absorb another gem into them after it defeats them, via draining the light from them while they are in their Gem state.
All the humans die because they get caught in the crossfire of the gems battle, their deaths eating heavily at the souls of those just recently born, and only adding to the burden already bared by their stalwart protector, who hides her tears, which shine like the gem for which she is named, under her deep blue locks as she leads her flock to a place where they can live in peace.
@AkayaofthemoonI doubt Reggie would ever trust Bloodstone, or vice versa, since Bloodstone see him as human trash and he'd see Bloodstone as an aggressive psychopathic alien with cool toys. To be honest, that's the main reason Reggie would want to join Bloodstone, all the awesome tech he could get his hands on.

Edit: His revenge would also be the point if no return for him, most likely, as it would be him actively choosing to end another life for his own personal satisfaction.
Speaking off backstory, Reggie might have a bit of an errand for Bloodstone to help him with if he joins up with the guy. Nothing much . . . just some good old fashion revenge via robots.
I can see it too
