Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

The short-haired girl blearily drifted back into consciousness... and became acutely aware that her hand had formed a vice-like grip over whatever had happened to prod her awake. Seeing that this was essentially a crushing grip on Ikaku's wrist, Kasumi promptly let go and sprung to her feet, fatigue--and the girl she'd been using as an impromptu pillow--totally forgotten. "Let them stare; they all know that this is good behaviour, for me."

Leisurely, she started towards the class listings, looking back over her shoulder, "Reckon we'll get the same class this year?"

Are her batteries running out? D:

Why would her batteries run out? She just hates boring. D:

I just fgured Ikaku and Kasumi would know each other xPSorry if i overstepped xD

You just poked the cyborg in her sleep. >.>

It's more a case of grabbing his hand too hard and letting go. XD

P.S. Raineh were you just wanting a generic NPC/another certain character for that bit, or would you mind Haruko?

It's more amusing if it's a player, I was just waiting for someone to pick themselves. :P

Poor Ikaku, he's going to get a sore wrist when she wakes up. XD
Kasumi had listened attentively for, perhaps, the first minute or two of the speech. Then, concluding that it was no different to the previous two years' speeches, she'd made her uniform a bit more comfortable--getting dirty looks for how dishevelled this ended up being--and decided to use the opening ceremony as a good excuse to have a nap... whilst slumping over on whatever unfortunate girl happened to have picked that day to sit beside her.

It wasn't as if the ceremony was terribly important, though, compared to checking which class she'd ended up in this time.

So I can't use gnomes? The op said we could use other races that weren't listed

The point is that your explanation is 'pointy hair', and that you're assuming a familiarity with something that's not even been out for half a year (and only has one paragraph to it, at that). Basically: the GM doesn't have a clue what you mean, and gnomes wild vary in every D&D setting, so you need to explain what you think gnomes are.

Okay just so we can stop bickering, please tell what the problem is with my character's race? because I'm failing to see what people's concerns are

It has no basis in the setting, and you aren't explaining it based on familiarity with a trivial race most people wouldn't ever play in a book published about four months ago. That's on my shelf. And that the GM doesn't own.

5E is way too new to have its descriptions accepted as a generic thing.
Gnomes stand 3 to 3½ feet tall and weigh 40 to 45 pounds. Their skin color ranges from dark tan to woody brown, their hair is fair, and their eyes can be any shade of blue. Gnome males prefer short, carefully trimmed beards. Gnomes generally wear leather or earth tones, though they decorate their clothes with intricate stitching or fine jewelry. Gnomes reach adulthood at about age 40, and they live about 350 years, though some can live almost 500 years.

Gnomes speak their own language, Gnome. Most gnomes who travel outside gnome lands (as traders, tinkers, or adventurers) know Common, while warriors in gnome settlements usually learn Goblin.

Most gnomes encountered outside their home are warriors; the information in the statistics block is for one of 1st level

No, it really isn't.

Well that's the first I'VE heard of such gnomes.

Echoing. 'Gnome', in my mind, is either 'crazy magician/inventor' or 'bad hats'.

I'm just using that as an example what I'm going for with the race and I do not understand why it's hard to understand that

Whisper Gnomes, Tinker Gnomes, the basic 'gnome' with no fluff in the 3.5 PHB. They were introduced in the 4E MM. 'Gnome' is generic as it gets; you could be talking about garden gnomes for all I know.
