Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

This works for me (if it was me you were referring to that is!). I can already imagine the hijinks...

No good being able to make things if you don't have the tools or materials, is it? :p

With your permission @Raineh Daze, I could add to Gehrman's backstory that he studied about the Dolls through his connections with Regina's church, but was never accepted as part of the sect due to his occult beliefs. He could have also heard about Regina having been a Doll Hunter, and finding her to be a Doll Master to be a shock to him, and further "proof" to him that Dolls are a corruptive force.

I am not sure how much the church in general has to do with hunting dolls. XD
I propose pairing the nun with the clingy possessive doll, because there is no way that their personality types cannot make comedy. : D
Name: Regina Victoria

Age: 24

Gender: Female

Appearance: Normally, she's not actually bareheaded.

Personality: Despite overall having rather... childish likes, Regina stubbornly tries to act 'properly', both as an outstanding member of the community and for someone in her position. Whilst she's normally quite a laid back person, she gets irritable quickly if someone draws attention to her doing something 'improper' or trying to push her into doing it. This is even worse for the immediate future because of her ongoing failing.
Very, very particular about telling the truth and keeping her word. Currently keeping her in a cheery catch-22 situation where she's breaking her vows one way, but would break them far worse if she were to fulfil them properly.

Backstory: Orphaned at a young age, Regina was raised by a particular sect of the church that views Dolls as a terrible menace, and generally agreed with them, even more so when she joined the church proper and found that there were ways to deal with the monsters without involving even more monsters. So, more than just a church member, she was a Doll Hunter. 'Was' being the operative word, with an extremely bad situation and a moment of panic leading her to accept a bargain that should never have been struck in the first place.
Now... stuck with a Doll that she can't kill, since that would put her in a much worse situation. Along with being unable to go 'home' properly for the immediate future, she's secretly hoping that something will free her from her obligations, whilst trying to keep going as normal.

Skills: Though previously quite well armed, and with a 'one shot, one kill' mentality due to having quite the overdone weapon--certainly not something you'd ever want to try using without a lot of bracing--Regina has no ability to really use her shooting skills, since the weapon itself was rather thoroughly broken. She's had practice with a knife, and still has some rather... longer nails, but is herself mostly harmless to Dolls and Puppeteers alike at the moment, because only an idiot tries to use a weapon of last resort (or for finishing off anything that found itself staked in place but not dead) to attack with.
At least, with her athleticism, she's got a good headstart for running away and dealing with more mundane attackers.
Something makes me think that the technician/engineer guy would be a good partner for the mad scientist steampunk cyborg. XD
Name: Gateway to the Genesis of Technology

Gender: Female

Appearance: Behold!

Personality: Gate is... very, very overenthusiastic. Nothing deserves to be done quietly, at low speed, or with much forethought: full steam ahead and power through! She doesn't really have much room in her head for any sort of malice with that energy and knowledge taking up most of the space. So everyone gets to be her friend! If they can keep up. She babbles a lot.

Abilities:
Technowizardry--Steam and Clock Edition: Gate can build things that either function in advance of modern technology, or achieve the same thing through different means. For small-scale stuff, it simply works by winding up clockwork. Large scale? Well... she thinks locomotives are pretty shoddy even at best, and the internal combustion engine is just a loser's substitute for what you could really do with a steam engine if you put your mind to it. She still needs the raw materials to actually build any of these things, though, and since she basically makes everything out of metal and glass...
Just don't ask her what weird chemicals are involved in making the things work once they're turned on.
She's exceptionally gifted at using or repairing compatible technology, and using anything mechanical in general. Just... don't ask her to touch electronics.
Enhanced Chassis: Her arm isn't the only thing about Gate that's mechanical, it's just the obvious. This is the reason why she's both faster than is normal even for a Doll, and tougher. However, it also makes her healing a lot worse. And she generally functions as a lightning rod.
Technological Impossibility--Armament Reconfiguration: Gate's arm? It can change shape. It can turn into an outright cannon, a gatling gun, or a chainsaw, all using steam rather than their normal propellents/power sources, and keeping the same sort of aesthetic. It is, however, blatantly impossible for the mechanical shifting it does to actually result in the working shapes, so anyone examining her arm too closely will probably find their brain hurting.
The Truth of All Things: Under the eyepatch, there's another eye. This one doesn't see the world... well, normally. It sees through everything to its innermost workings. Walls are translucent mirages above piping and wiring. Flesh can be seen through to the organs beneath. Not, as a whole, an ability that sees much use except when building or fixing stuff, but it does carry the handy property of being impossible to fool with illusions. The sole thing it cannot see through is the eyepatch covering it (if she needs to use this eye, Gate tends to just swap which one is covered--seeing through things all the time isn't helpful).

Weapons: Look above.

Misc: If you value whatever it's attached to, don't make her use something with any electrical components.

Yo, @Raineh Daze, you wanna have E and Gate be a pair? E would go well with a direct action girl, and they could have a pretty good friendship despite their differences. Plus, I can imagine Gate beating the Puppeteer influence out of Eren, then being like "oh...shit, you're you again." And E being like "Oh shit I am indeed. Now if you'll excuse me, I think you might have rearranged my organs just a little."

I haven't the faintest idea how you consider what is, intrinsically, a mad scientist to be a good partner for someone so ridiculously stoic. They seem to be an intrinsically bad pair. Gate needs brakes and resources, and E has neither of them.

You're basically suggesting the worst partner: without resources or enough backbone to stop her, she's going to be a living disaster, which isn't the intended goal.
The trap's on the up door. We want to go down. Should the person that can see in the dark lead the way, or one of the people carrying torches?

What spoilers? It's pretty obvious that Shadow Eternity is planning to destroy the multiverse. They don't seem keen on grabbing power or money. Instead they're just grabbing random macguffins, and that generally means doomsday device.

I'm going to guess that this is where 'explaining the whole plot' comes into it as a problem.
