Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

Finally did it. I compiled a list of every NPC I'm using or will use in the near future, because I feel it's kinda cheaty if I just pump out NPCs without giving them any background. If'n you want, you can read it!

Your fairy and the Imperium guy make absolutely no sense (since... neither faction seems like it would declare war on the Imperium because one guy said 'please').

Especially the fairy. The Imperishable Night is literally just a reaaaaaaaaally long night.
The homunculus paid no heed to Jun's monologuing, reasonably certain that the boy would just ask a normal question if it was something important--and due to not having any interest in the whole film noir thing. She'd tried to watch a movie when it was on (and the TV was working) the other week, then given up and returned to her books. The only time she ever normally paid the strange box any attention was Sunday morning, otherwise.

Then Toshiko arrived, bringing with her news of a new case. Though the details wouldn't be forthcoming yet, there was one question the homunculus wanted to ask in advance: "Danger level?"

Much as she liked the maid outfit, as it fit her normal role in the detective agency, Akemi wasn't stupid enough to wear it if she knew something serious was likely to happen. The shoes alone were impractical, and the whole thing was nearly as bad as her hair. Not that she ever really considered gettinng a haircut, since amongst her combat skills was an odd talent for keeping said hair out of the way.
Always go left.
But posting 'and thus, we bravely walked forwards' is boring! :P

I could always liven up the OOC with random things from the other incarnation of this paladin (a retroclone one-player thing), if we need more entertainment. :P
The point of a roleplay isn't 'avoid other people like the plague'.
I think the Judgement office scene is more or less wrapped up. Can't do anything more about finding the guy right now. :P
Shirai Kuroko

Misaka was spared the worst possible outcome--Kuroko taking a cue from the shorter and much more generally perverse girl--due to the Judgement agent's leaning over Uiharu's shoulder to memorise the apparently-not-dead criminal's face. Then, straightening up, the teleporter returned to her own seat: there was far more boring work to be doing, and she could hardly wander around the alleys hoping that the delinquent was still anywhere nearby.
"I feel that the one in the lead should be the one more resilient against sudden injury," the paladin replied, not being entirely pleased with her torch-bearing duties: her sword needed two hands to wield, after all, and nobody seemed inclined to take the brand off her at the moment, "And I feel that splitting up would hardly be in our best interests."

With nothing other than altruism to hold the group together at this stage, there was no guarantee that if they split, the others would share the way off the island. Strength in numbers was a valid point, as well.
The homunculus didn't look up as the others entered; their immediately speaking was more than enough to identify them... and it meant that she didn't have to look away from the story that held her attention so much. That was, until the vampire asked what she was reading. Hypocritical as it was for someone who chose to wear a maid outfit criticising another person's appearance, she found the walking 50's stereotype a bizarre fashion choice.

"Ace," the girl stated, quiet and almost unreadable, "A story about a very intelligent pig."
Fujiwara no Mokou

"If you want them burnt, we just need to get outside. I can light this place up," the white-haired girl stated confidently, certain in her ability to do something as simple as ignite a building. After all, she'd once started a forest fire beyond her ability to contain entirely by accident; anything as dry as a static building would be child's play to set off. She'd refrained at first for the obvious reason: burning a building down with no idea who or what was inside it was far from a good idea.
