Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

Kohinata Miku

As had been expected, the man ignored the opportunity to back down from a fight and launched an attack--first on someone else, but then ordering the strange blob monster to attack them. Her tentative hold on the relic gave enough of a window to act before the second command could be carried out and, naturally, there was only one response: sing.

"Rei shen shou jing rei zizzl."

The nigh-instantaneous transformation replaced the uniform with a rather more revealing, and yet undeniably more militant get-up and left the inexperienced girl happily floating scant inches above the surface. Now equipped for the inevitable fight, Miku... grabbed Hibiki and slid backwards, out of the obvious danger zone, and put her back down. One of the armour's vambraces folded out and forwards into a mirrored club/closed fan.

"You know, I want to protect you as well, Hibiki."
Satori must find her mind odd.
Kohinata Miku

Sometimes, Hibiki was an idiot. This was one of those times: forgetting that Miku could fight now was one thing, but telling her to stay safe by standing in a random place in a strange city that they knew nothing about was a new level of 'forgetting to think'. How would she even find her way back here? All of this was why, rather than standing and waiting for Hibiki, she kept pace with her friend, right up to the point of reaching a man playing with dolls and something that looked even more horrifying than the Noise.

The... cowboy... guitar-playing spandex ninja and the American seemed all too ready to get into a fight straight away, but maybe the apparently violent researcher would listen to Hibiki. Something about the way he was speaking reminded her... uncomfortably of Ver, so he probably wouldn't listen. Miku had no idea if Arakune could even understand them. Given how likely it was that Hibiki would be ignored again, she reached a hand into her shirt and pulled out the relic.

This time, she wasn't going to wait and watch Hibiki be in danger.

Sir Artorias the Abysswalker

With the initial horde of bodies cut down to size, Artorias turned to the others that had chosen this path. The girl in a dress appeared to have the ability to shoot liquid gold for some unfathomable reason, yet the ability could hardly be said to be of no use here. The other one seemed to have some strange sorcery activated by song--yet after encountering some of Oolaciles' own unusual spells, it wasn't terribly surprising. Not after having been out of the world for this task. Meanwhile, the swordsman was, fortunately, strong enough to swing the lump of iron that was his blade--and hopefully the humans were just that, and not branded with the Darksign.

Questioning where they should search for the source of this world's troubles was simplified by the arrival of yet more humans in some strange contraption, who he expected to have the ability to explain what was happening. Or give directions. First, their pursuers had to be dealt with and so, ignoring the idea of going around, Artorias took a short running start before leaping clean over, smashing his blade into the ground... and through several of the creatures. A swift slash later, and Sif landed in the small circle of 'clear' space.

Hefting his shield, Artorias prepared to draw their attacks to give everyone else a clear shot.
The most amusing thing about Hibiki and Miku is that this is canon... from episode one. There are no declarative statements on their relationship. xD
Artorias the Abysswalker

Artorias remained seated whilst the Recordkeeper explained the difficulties facing the world. Could it be that this 'Akashic Record' was the source of the First Flame? If that was the case, not only would his activities here mirror his work against the Abyss, then the decay that had set in across Lordran could be reversed and the sun could rise once more above Anor Londo. No matter what happened, every delay that this project caused from travelling to Oolacile was worth it.

It wasn't like the knight would have been able to refuse even if it made his task harder for no gain.

After the initial introductions were made and the portals unveiled, Artorias surveyed how the group was splitting off. The mass seemed to consist mostly of sorcerers or other armour-less fighters, which suggested that his abilities would be ill-served--and consequently, he took the third exit, joining Guts and Goldibanne in a city with materials beyond his recognition, but the unmistakeable sound of fighting.

Already, a path was beginning to clear, with the other enormous sword hacking through zombies like paper. Guts' efforts were aided when the Abysswalker leapt to the cleared space, darkened blade slashing around to carve a wide semi-circle expanding their beachhead before the blade pointed northwards, towards the combat--with the enormous wolf leaping onto another zombie and ripping its throat out. Trusting in his current associates to help, Artorias thrust forwards, impaling another three on his blade before flinging them off. With the lunge, his right was covered by the shield, but the left was open to the mass of undead.

Kohinata Miku

Hibiki's sudden embrace, though as warm and welcoming as ever, was hardly something that Miku was prepared for whilst running forwards and, with the collision, she ended up on the floor. Returning the hug, of course, but in no way contributing to solving the issue at hand. "H-Hibiki, the fight."
I was planning to stick him into RE anyway.
Name: Kohinata Miku
Age: 16
Gender: Female

World of Origin: Senki Zesshou Symphogear
Personality: A very sweet, kind girl who's cheerfully optimistic about most things, and a far better student than Hibiki, about whom she worries... a lot. Most of the time, she has faith in her friend, though Hibiki can't really hide things from her at all and Miku isn't above calling her an idiot.
She's also got a possessive streak and a desire to protect Hibiki, though it's normally the other way round. This culminated in being able to activate the Senshou Jing... through love. In a case of extremely poor judgement, she ended up fighting Hibiki; not that anyone appears to care about this.
History: Hibiki's childhood friend, she's been around for practically everything that's happened to the other girl--except for the concert incident, due to being late. This has extended to being her room-mate since beginning to attend Lydian. So naturally, when Hibiki found out that she had a Symphogear, Miku ended up getting involved as well--first mostly by being mad that Hibiki was avoiding her, then later joining the same organisation.
She later temporarily gained a Symphogear, only for it to be destroyed. However, with the full relic being presumably recovered and someone with the abilities to make and alter the system around the relic fragments, she can quite easily get it again. Given her track record for being attacked and falling huge distances, this would be a good thing.
Abilities: The Senshou Jing, which works like every other Symphogear--sing, get fancy armour and a weapon (Hibiki's Gungnir being an anomaly). In her case, this manifests as a club that looks like a folded fan, and has a mirror that shoots lasers. It also has the honour of being the only Symphogear capable of flight outside of X-Drive, which is handy given that its wielder has no combat training whatsoever. Other capabilities include the club splitting into an actual mirror-fan, which can fire a burst of lasers, attacking with the strange trailing bits, and launching mirrors that... shoot lasers (with really bad apparent aim). If her synchronization was better, then it would also have the Liuxang attack--a relic-destroying magical wave motion gun. The downside, however, of her lasers is that mirrors reflect them.
On the plus side, Miku's in very good shape, as she's on the track and field team, which has come in useful on more than one occasion.

Name: Sir Artorias the Abysswalker
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male

World of Origin: Dark Souls
Personality: Artorias is a brave and honourable knight with a persistent hatred for the servants of dark--which, regardless of wider morality, seem to entirely be insane or sociopathic and homicidal, as well as destructive. His willpower is as renowned as Artorias' ability with a sword, never breaking as far as anyone has ever known--the one exception being the person who eventually killed him, someone he wanted to warn away. He's also selfless enough to sacrifice his only defence and get injured in defence of Sif.
History: One of the Four Knights of Gwyn, Artorias was a general in the war against the immortal dragons. After winning the war, the knights more or less spent their time killing the remaining dragons (to the point their captain did it as a hobby). More than five hundred years after Gwyn set himself on fire, the rulers of New Londo made a pact with the Abyss... which began to devour and consume their citizens. Artorias himself made a pact with the beasts there, gaining a ring that would allow him to traverse the Abyss without melting instantly, in order to kill the life-stealing Darkwraiths.
After the crisis was contained, Artorias was awarded his pendant, and a similar problem appeared in nearby Oolacile. He set off to rescue the princess and broke his arm in the process, leaving his shield behind to guard his companion even as the Abyss began to corrupt him. Defeated and broken, he turned into a mindless beast, barely holding on but still fighting his enemies... until an undead from the future came back and allowed him to die with honour.
Of course, that hasn't happened yet. Or maybe it has, time flows strangely in Lordran...
Abilities: Unmatched with a sword in his home, Artorias has enough strength to wield his blade with his off-hand alone. His sword, now cursed, cuts as much with magic as sheer force and possesses the ability to cut through ghosts and their ilk, even though they have no physical form. His other possessions are a shield where the wielder is more likely to buckle than it is to get scratched, a ring that allows him to traverse the Abyss, another ring to supplement his unbendable will, and a pendant that can repel dark magic (as well as his armour). It's also quite plausible that Sif, his companion, would be with him--essentially a human-sized wolf pup.
Other: He's something like ten feet tall.
I could swear I'd done that for Miku. Apparently not!
The armour's actually not that... great; it's just some well-made plate. Shield's good for turtling, though, but why the hell would you try and attack through that enormous shield?

Funnily enough, the pendant doesn't mitigate anything. It can be activated to deflect dark magic, though. And all the dark magic in the game is black and obviously evil, so most stuff will bypass it. Not, I imagine, necromancy and stuff.

As for the second ring... basically? It boils down to 'even better pain threshold'. Probably helps against mind control, but obviously not perfectly.
And a second submission. We need more swords. We ALWAYS need more swords.
