Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

Graciously taking the keys, Ryuuko lead the way outside and to the car... wondering once again how Toshiko had so few dents on its red paintwork with the way she drove. Thankfully, the saloon wasn't a sports model or brand new, since with her employer's driving there was even more a guarantee that she'd hit something unexpected...

Once the car was open and the younger of the two seated firmly in the driver's seat, not forgetting the seatbelt, she waited for the detective to get in as well. Fortunately, she didn't need directions: the file had included the location of the crime and she'd made sure to learn the local area pretty well when she'd joined the agency. It would be no good to not know where any jobs the agency was hired for were going to happen.
If you see a picture more than once day for even a month but never the person it corresponds to, then they show up... failure of recognition is the strange response. I'm not sure why you're trying to caricature it to demanding instant worship. I said he's got odd definitions of unusual; none of this really goes against that.

(Plus Fyre and I have been RPing together for three years so)

I don't see how that can justify or explain only responding to one character properly. Isn't the point of joining new roleplays to interact with other people? :T
No, unless you consider reading the world information to be metagaming. There's always going to be parts of character backgrounds that are common knowledge. Something as part of the public history of the knights as 'was one of the founders' isn't metagaming in the slightest. And the post mentioned a portrait and the 'well-known' part as a secondary note. Ignoring both of them means selectively choosing canon--not a choice that leads to a world with the slightest bit of coherency.

Not to mention how much more metagaming recognising a burly stranger as a surgeon in the knights would be if character backgrounds are supposedly beyond IC knowledge.
Which... is why there is a character background field. And the helpful note in the post that she has a portrait? Because there's a limit to showing "this character is actually well known" with only my own posts. It's a roleplay, not a book; people have to actually co-operate for certain things to be shown.
As I said, unusual priorities. It makes no sense intuitively or probabilistically. :T
Odd that you'd rate meeting a GP as stranger than meeting Faraday or Curie or something. Or, more generally, meeting a common type of person is stranger than a specific person with no reason to be there?
How frightening and perplexing should a slightly taller than average suit of armor be to him?

On a scale from "demon armor trapped in ice which has turned into a little girl" to "fifteen foot tall direwolf that can talk and is apparently also a member of the peerage," that is. ;)

Wrong character. The armour's not remarkable as she's nearly part of the furniture.

Those would also be strange--though I'm not sure the wolf's a member of the peerage rather than just... oddly named. He's finding a doctor stranger than the person in clothes from another continent... who's an archmage that hasn't been seen for years. And has a portrait around here.

Fair bit stranger than meeting a surgeon.
Without even a second's delay, the purple-haired swordswoman held out one hand expectantly: "Keys." Toshiko had relented, so she wasn't going to wait on her to unlock everything. Aside from being demeaning, Ryuuko couldn't shake the feeling that the mage would change her mind once in the car and undo the brief effort. Besides, she did want some idea of the potentially bypassed protections instead of acting as a complete novice on arrival...
"How would it seem that we're not taking it seriously if we arrive as soon as reasonably possible? Even police forces can take longer to respond to reports of theft," the heiress stated, glad that she'd found some chink in Toshiko's desire to drive there at hair-raising speeds. "If I drive, you can explain what the magical protections are that might have been bypassed. Being distracted in control of a high-speed vehicle could be costly in more ways than fuel."
Such a counter-argument was easily dismissed: "Arriving within a time obeying all speed limits would have us looking punctual. Rushing would make us appear desperate whilst costing more in fuel." Maybe the monetary argument would sway Toshiko into letting someone else drive for once? Looking up to see near miss after near miss... if she could find where Toshiko's keys were kept, she would have tried to bribe or blackmail her employer into taking proper lessons.
