Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

  • Name: Lilianna Belwiss
  • Age: 29
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Human
  • Personality: Though not as harsh as she often first appears to be, Lilianna is generally quite cold to most people--polite but closed off and unfortunately prone to coming across as supercilious. As her family and the captain can attest to, she just takes a long time to warm up to anyone and only relaxes in private.
She also hates anyone that claims a position or privilege solely on the circumstances of their birth or their connections. If you haven't the skills for the role, then you should be stripped of it at the soonest convenience in her opinion--something that sets her at odds with the more traditional members of the knights, though it earns her some prestige amongst more progressive sections of the nobility.
If there's one thing that Lilianna takes pride in above everything else, it's her swordsmanship: any knight claiming to be better than her has been asked to prove it... and their oldest member's refusal to accept her terms for a fair duel frustrates her to no end.
  • Brief Backstory: As the fifth daughter of the Countess Belwiss, Lilianna received a thorough education, including instruction with the sword, but after that was left to make something of her life on her own. The young woman pledged her service directly to the royal family, serving admirably and proving her skills sufficiently to be granted a position as a commander in some minor engagements. It was this experience that gave her the leverage to join the Iron Roses.
After Phoran Cal's rebellion, there was the obvious need to find those able to train the new Captain--a job that Lilianna, refusing to have some uneducated ditz there with no qualification other than their birth, volunteered for immediately. In the end, was the captain's primary tutor when it came to military matters--aside from a brief leave of absence due to a romance with one of the Danbalion family maids, which got cut short due to her replacement's unexpected death.
Despite being one of the few knights that are actually married and responsible for raising a daughter, Lilianna has no intention of stepping off the battlefield any time soon. Though she quite likes the captain, she won't rest before the order is reformed--it hardly has a religious mandate nowadays and tradition is no reason that its leader should continue to be chosen for such foolish reasons. Better to select someone that already has the skills needed than train a random girl from scratch.
  • Equipment: Lilianna wields two weapons, both of dwarven make and alloy--a much newer, and more ornate, rapier and a dagger with which to parry or (frequently) stab someone more concerned with the more 'obviously' dangerous weapon. So confident is Lilianna in her abilities that she eschews any form of armour when going into battle. She must be doing something right in order to still be alive and pretty much unscathed.
  • Skills: As befitting one of those tasked with bringing the new captain's abilities up to a level where she could competently fill the post and avoid a painful death in battle, Lilianna is an exceptionally skilled swordsman. Despite having no abilities beyond her swords and footwork, she is more than able to serve on the field of battle alongside her more heavily armoured comrades. Her awareness of combat seems quite exceptional as well, since arrows don't seem to trouble her.
The swordsman is also a practised battlefield commander and tactician, having been responsible in part for all the militant aspects of Fanilly's education. Though a large portion of her knowledge comes from history, her posts prior to joining the knights have given her direct experience of command--as did being one of those involved with battle plans when putting down Phoran Cal's rebellion.
Since Merilia's there mostly for occasional background stuff/harassing the bunny:

"The money belongs neither to us or our employer. As far as I'm concerned, if you can keep it then do so," Ryuuko stated, not seeing any particular reason to take the money off the thieves simply to give it back to those behind the theft in the first place. It was apparent that the Daidouji's wealth was distributed around the family anyway and, consequently, taking the payment wouldn't leave their current employer any worse off. Nor did they owe it to the family to do so.

On the subject of trapping, she had little to say. It wasn't her speciality to plan such things or set up magical traps of some sort: lying in wait and ambushing was more in the vein of the girl's skills.
Also I feel like being pedantic and pointing out that the time period the setting happens to be in pretty much precludes the existence of those ranks. xD
The undead knight paused a second to look back at the bandit as she climbed back into the saddle. How was it that she'd put the girl on an injured leg? She'd meant to lower her all the way to the ground--though as Indrau was seeing to her injury, no harm was going to be done in the long run. Once they got back to Aimlenn, a healer could see to it--if the girl was going to be allowed to go free, that was.

And she made a note to arrange history lessons for Gillian.

It wasn't the first time that the paladin had visited this shrine, out of the way as it was, nor the first that she felt that it needed someone to take the time to care for it. Had this been a planned trip, she would have brought some tools to help clean it up--instead, she moved straight to the second part of her rare trips here: take one of the roses and scatter the petals on the water.

The world would have to be ending before she just walked past a shrine like this.
Ryuuko, displaying a surprising degree of boldness, walked over to the vase. It was strange to imagine that something like this could be dangerous, though it looked wrong. Oh, she had seen pictures of a similar material made by far more mundane means. It didn't have the strange presence of a magic-ripping vase, even if it was deactivated. Not that the presence was going to stop her from sticking her hand inside to check that there was an inside; the opening could have been a flat top from the lack of shadows.

"Could we simply put runes or ofuda inside the vase to disable him when he arrives?"

Irish and French are two of Feisty's Irl heritages, so she's done a lot of research into those folklores. It's an odd pairing to be sure, but they're her favorites and Minerva is one of her most beloved characters. (The two of us have worked together on a variety of sites, so we're pretty familiar with each other).

It's a combination on one character that seems fairly inconsistent given the radically different linguistic bases. xD
I think I should point out that there aren't really any defined ranks in the knights, aside from the captain's. ... and that borrowing names from classical mythology for swords doesn't really fit so much. :P

Besides, Irish and French? D:
"If the vase is still here, then it would be prudent to take us to it. We must insure that it is secured; to leave it in a state where your employer might be able to leave with or activate it would endanger all of us," Ryuuko surmised, resting her chin on one hand. It was true that they were all unfamiliar with the inner workings of the urn. This would make securing it more difficult; they didn't know how to use it themselves. Yet to do nothing with a magic-ripping artefact around and only her combat skills being entirely capable of functioning without the supernatural was just risky.
  • Appearance:
  • Name: Reinhardt Wilhelm
  • Sex: Male
  • Franchise: Overwatch
  • Special Abilities/Powers: Does being a 7'4 tall wall of muscle at the age of 61 count? That's the closest thing to a special ability he really has.
  • Equipment: What makes Reinhardt even more intimidating than his base size is the Crusader armour he wears and the rocket hammer that goes with it. Even with years of limited resources and the means to repair it, the armour is a sturdy bastion compared to almost anything else to exist in the world of Overwatch. Apart from possessing vast durability, it has the ability to generate a powerful energy shield at a moment's notice. This shield can soak up a hail of gunfire or explosions without breaking--and regenerate to full power in a matter of seconds after being deactivated. Even better, the shield is entirely permeable from behind, making it the perfect mobile cover.
The armour has another main feature: a powerful recharging rocket on the back. The rocket is likely similar in design to the rockets on his hammer, which do exactly what you would expect and can disrupt even the surest footing if brought down on the earth. Reinhardt is quite capable of charging across an entire battlefield to ram troublesome opponents against whatever obstacle is around--with enough force to break free of the restraints of even a sudden powerful gravity well.
  • History: 61 years ago, in the distant year of 2016, Reinhardt was born in Stuttgart. Later, presumably many years later, the young man joined the military before moving on to join the Crusaders--the implausible order of power armour using knights that had been formed. It was almost certain that when the Omnic Crisis began and everyone started getting killed by robots, he took part in battle with the Crusaders--enough to come to the attention of whoever was selecting agents to put down the crisis once and for all.
Initially under the command of Gabriel Reyes, the newly formed Overwatch was instrumental in stopping the crisis and Reinhardt served with it for years until, most likely after one of its other founding members was "killed", he was pressured into retiring from the organisation. From the outside, he was unable to do anything but watch as corruption took hold, leading to its eventual dissolution after two of the other founders "died" when the organisation's Swiss headquarters exploded.
He took up his armour once again upon coming across a town where the government was powerless to do anything about the gang extorting it for money. Though Brigitte, his mechanic, suggested that it wasn't their business to get involved in--especially after the gangsters held a child hostage to force him to back down, Reinhardt was never going to sit idly by when there was JUSTICE to be delivered. So he put on his armour once again to drive the Dragons out, taking up the mantle of a wandering knight errant.
He still keeps in touch with Torbjorn and, at Christmas, visited. He's apparently a good storyteller, if Torbjorn's children are anything to go by. He also doesn't seem to have aged in around thirty years, looking more or less identical to then with the exception of having gained a moustache.
  • Personality: Reinhardt comes across as an attempt to distil the essence of every heroic knight to have ever lived and finding that there's a limit to how small you can make it. The enormous man might have a moral core so unyielding that he can remind an international organisation of its purpose but he's also loud enough that it gives the feeling he managed this by shouting at them from the next continent over. Though, contrary to what it might seem like, he does in fact have an inside voice.
Cowardice only exists in this man's vocabulary as something to look down upon: even if he wasn't looking forward to the fighting, he's going to walk steadfastly into battle ahead of his allies because that's the honourable thing to be doing. Should there be no glory in the fight? Reinhardt will still do it because it's the right thing: justice is its own reward. One thing that he isn't is stupid about it: though he's sworn to never retire again, he won't fight or even fight back if it means that some innocent bystander is going to get hurt.
The man has a somewhat eclectic mix of interests, loving Hasselhoff and considering it a classic (to be fair, it probably is by the 2070's) but at the same time being a fan of a professional video gamer. All whilst being happy to spend his forced retirement wandering the Earth helping people out and visualising gang members as fantastic creatures to be defeated. He seems to have a lot of fun from teasing friends, too.
