Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

@Lucius Cypher Sorry for the delayed response, but there are a few issues here.

#1) That backstory. It's... too randomly dark to fit the setting. Not only does it not fit, there is zero chance that anything like it would ever be mentioned or touched upon in the roleplay. So... less dragon rape cults, please?

#2) Too many unrelated skills. This isn't an RPG where all skills are piled onto one or two characters. Master of many weapons, genius linguist, smith, and a carpenter--and not at subdued levels, but on a level of everything from making a chair to architectural carpentry and advanced work on making weapons... it's too many skills for one person to have.

Plus I'm fairly certain that the jobs of the peasantry and craftsmen have never been anywhere near a knight's education.

(More for information's sake, languages are more regional than race based. And talking with orcs is pointless unless you're morally bankrupt)

#3) Can we please have an appearance out of armour? Most people take it off quite a lot.
Sir Tyaethe Radistirin

"Seizing control of the terrain before we go in? It's almost like old times," Tyaethe said, hefting her shield before turning to Indrau, "If you're confident nothing is going to overwhelm that, then I'll let you lead once we're done with the orcs. If their first big spell gets stopped and we don't need to slow..."

Still, there was one more thing to establish before they split up: some sort of signal that they were both in place. She could create a candle flame, at least--probably nothing orcs would catch if it was only for a second, but with the other pair watching out for it then returning the sign (Tiral could surely do something so simple) they could actually move in together.

Whatever the case, once that was agreed upon, the paladin split from the captain to circle around to the westward entrance. If it was just orcs, this wouldn't take long.

Lilianna Belwiss

"If you want to be a knight, then you need to work hard and act like one. Do you understand? That means doing what you're told and behaving," the white-haired knight said, not one to pass up the opportunity to make a moral lesson. Not that it was wrong; unless born with the privilege, then knighthood was something to be earned rather than merely awarded... as frustrating as that happened to be and as dangerous as it would be for someone like that to take to the battlefield.

With the gaggle of children around her, it would surely be easier for Klaus and Fleuri to answer the hat-wearing girl's request... not that this was supposed to be their duty, but it would certainly avoid any reprimands for not doing what Lilianna believed to be their current duty.
Sir Tyaethe Radistirin

With the ruins nearly in sight, Tyaethe was the first to dismount. Being mounted wouldn't help too much with poor footing, and the horse wasn't armoured. The thing would probably just get killed if the numbers were that badly against them--she could protect herself fine, but something as fragile as a horse if the fairies were right and there were "a ton"?

"Think that sword could even survive a spell like that?" she said, obviously meaning Indrau.

It would be nice to not have to dodge.

Sword drills. Sword drills until his arms fell off or he obtained what Lilianna deemed an acceptable level of skill. Getting out of your duties by playing dirty... there was no way that she could actually attempt to instil discipline whilst being surrounded by children eager for some story or other. Not that she was particularly aware of any great stories that a newly instated captain could really feature in--for that you would want a more fanciful storyteller or one of the knights determined to shadow her every move.

Instead, looking thoughtful, the duellist began: "Did you know that Captain Fanilly once fought a deer and lost? She was only learning, at the time..."

It was a true story, though she embellished it a little: shortly after Fanilly had begun to practise wielding a sword, a small deer had blundered into their surroundings and somehow taken offence to the girl. With only a wooden sword she barely knew how to use against people, the result had been trying to get away from the inexplicably angry herbivore until she got some help to drive it off.

Probably not a story she would have liked children to know, but it was more amusing than most of the things Lilianna knew.
Isabelle d'Antibes

Leading the way, Isabelle seemed to have a specific destination in mind within the confines of Redrock. She followed a road that would have been busy in the light of a summer's day but now, this late and after dark, was practically deserted. Where, of course, would she be going but the amusement park? It avoided the potential disadvantage of trying to engage a natural hunter in a forest environment--one where both herself and Saber would stick out like sore thumbs--whilst maintaining plenty of cover in the event that their opponent preferred to engage in ranged conflict.

There was also the bonus that at this time of night, such an environment would be almost completely deserted, but for the presence of security. It was unfortunate that it could not be guaranteed to be totally free of outside interference, but at least the risk of the general public being drawn into it was quite low...

Naturally, the place was sealed tight during the night, the jaunty lighting turned off and the signs too dark to read. Not that it would be impossible to climb over, but Isabelle gestured for Saber to follow her alongside the fencing some distance away from the main entrance before turning her attention to the fence, concentrating as she sized it up... and cleanly jumping it.

"Your thoughts on fighting in here, Saber?"
"I just thought some fish would be a fair trade for defending the town..." came Caster's reply, confused. And... trading the pastries? That was unthinkable! "I simply cannot trade a limited supply of potions for enough fish for a meal!"

Lancer clinging to her arm was a pleasant distraction, but Nero seemed to be frowning, "Do you think they have many spices up here? This place would be far from trade routes in my time, and I can't imagine being besieged would help..."

Though seeing two attractive girls clinging so tight to each other in the cold weather, even if the weather wasn't a major issue despite their inappropriate outfits, had to be getting unwarranted attention. Maybe it was for the best that Saber was moving away from the lascivious pair.
Shion nodded towards Othianne. It was a more negative package than she had given--focusing on their deficiencies rather than their strengths, though it carried the same meaning: going for a full engagement right now would be disastrous. Particularly if the animosity between Saber and Archer were to threaten their chances at a critical time... who could have thought multiple Knights of the Round Table might be a bad thing?

"I'm afraid the only clues to their activity reveal little about Servant identities... their efforts before the war appeared to be directed towards Britain and Greece, but that unfortunately fails to much narrow their chances. Though... I heard that one of the items shipped to their castle from Britain was wooden in nature?

"I must ask if anyone here has a method for communicating with one another? Although I might be able to contact you all from here, that would be a poor way to co-ordinate assistance or important information."

Wait, the girl didn't know Tokyo? They were in the district and she didn't know about it? At least she got the idea that they needed to stop the wild animal before it went on a rampage but... why was she hitting the sword?

A normal person would have been quite squashed by the massive canine. A more violent person would probably have punched it as hard as they could. Hibiki, though, was still reluctant to attack something that wasn't immediately a threat to her or others--the Noise were an exception, but they were obviously unnatural. This was simply a large dog.

Instead, the girl found herself bracing for impact and catching, sliding back perilously towards the edge of the rooftop with the wolf completely obscuring her vision--and her arms. It wasn't as heavy as a space shuttle, but it was doing a good comparison with that tank turret...

Mr. Sharpton wasn't the only one to recognise Ennis' wine order--though Klaus made little comment. The large man could hardly have been seen to hold back much on the expense front, only seeming frugal by comparison.

"The office floorplan should be the same as our previous office once the paperwork has been filed, but it needs some refurbishing before it matches. There are a few dividing walls in other rooms to remove and no tiling yet," Klaus said, thinking about the building he had visited earlier. The place was right--which was to say, not the nicest place in the city but that was fine--and it was the same building, but it would need some care and attention to form a suitable office. Especially if they wanted to help co-ordinate internationally, style was important. "Furniture should be easier to arrange, but security will need to be last."

Though... would they be able to get such good security in this world? That was going to be difficult.

Evangeline avoided the private's breakfast invitation, saying that someone had to keep an eye on the children--it was a good enough reason. Someone did need to stop them from picking a fight with the next person to show up from another world. It had happened enough already and the meeting showed that it didn't take long for either of them to get wound up. There was something interesting about Mordred, too: how could King Arthur's illegitimate child end up looking like that? She could just find the answer by looking, but that was boring.

And if she ended up in the right sort of shops, they would be better at carrying heavy boxes.

The contract connection gave a good start for working out where Mordred was... if she formed a proper pactio then it would have been easy to just teleport the girl to her. Working out where all that magical energy was going, though? Well, it would take a few minutes, and she wasn't going to run, but she would catch up.

Probably not long after Tenshi.
Jiro had learned something else in the hectic little fight: goblin didn't taste that good. Oh, it was an easy--if somewhat slow compared to the way warriors were going about it--method of putting the little bastards down. Pin, bite. No more goblin, and their attempts to stop it were pitiful, no more than light scratches from that angle. Yes, she was quite happy to be on the side slaying the goblins, not opposing the warrior whose movement she could barely track. But they still tasted bad. Edible--overcooked, despite being blatantly raw, and stringy was her opinion--if needed but not something to seek out.

Long-term survival would probably be hard looking like a bloodstained monster, and eating the goblins wouldn't help... with the fighting dying down, common sense was reasserting itself, and the dragon shuffled back towards the musician and... well, stood up, for want of a better word.

"So, I guess the music is as strange to you as that is to me?"

Damn it, the blood hadn't gone away. At least her clothes seemed to be immune to staining... were they even clothes? Or were they just the scales in a different guise?
Sir Tyaethe Radistirin

Good, ignoring the fairies until Indrau had done something to get all their attention had worked--and now they had a clear lead on where to go. Well... provided that they were certain that this was the same person, but if the fairies were going off of the feel of the magic rather than some vague recollection of somebody that had been seen in the area recently, she had considerably more confidence in their abilities.

But for tactics... not knowing the sort of mage they were out to get made the planning a lot more difficult. Curses like the Earl's weren't practical for a battlefield and, if that was all that they needed to deal with, they just needed to prevent any attempts at fleeing. But hadn't someone been nearly taken out by a bolt of magic? In that case, it went the same way as dealing with most magic-wielding opponents... get in close and restrain them as soon as possible.

Either way, they didn't want to be going in grouped up like this: "We should spread out. If they're any good at this, one spell could hit all of us."

Lilianna Belwiss

Manning the defences... as usual, she was ill-equipped for such an exposed position. But assisting in the co-ordination of the Iron Roses with the townsfolk to not concentrate their forces too much in one place and leave some reserves in case of a (truly unexpected at this juncture) breach? That was something the duellist was well-trained to do. Which meant that the apparent absence of some knights was hers to correct.

It had mostly been something minimal--getting something to drink after fighting in armour, having injuries tended to. But when she got to working out what Fleuri was doing... well, the knight might feel the judgemental stare.

Of all people, why was one of their youngest knights taking the time to babysit now? To her, this was quite unfair.

"Eh? Mecha?" Hibiki asked, looking away from her pursuit for a second to look at whoever had somehow caught up and asked the question. Not that it told her much before she had to look ahead again to make the next jump: it was some sort of magical girl with a sword? So like Tsubasa in that way, only Tsubasa couldn't fly without X-Drive... which was a shame, there were plenty of situations where flight would have been useful, but only the Shenshou-Jing had that ability.

... but that wasn't important right now. "Ikebukuro is dangerous with that around, it needs to be stopped!"

The wolf apparently felt the need to confirm it, turning to reveal that it had a sword. Somehow. What was a wolf doing with such a huge sword? It was nearly as big as some of Tsubasa's, and she had thumbs.
