Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

Sir Tyaethe Radistirin

Most people would probably have been suitably awed by the looming rock golem, fearing they could never fight against one of those things. Others would work out some sort of complicated plan to take out the drider clearly in control of the construct. Some brave souls might even try to change her mind whilst avoiding being flattened like an insect. Tyaethe, though, was confident in the strength of her blade and failing that its regenerative properties. So her attitude was by far the most straightforward: trust the others to avoid the damage and go in for the kill.

For once, there was at least slightly more thought put into it, with the paladin looking down at Indrau's sword and stating: "Aim for the same area as me" before pushing forward under where the behemoth would have an easy swing, her own blade coming in for the first blow... to no serious damage. Even with the force behind it, it was still solid rock--but a blade like hers was as much a hammer as a cutting tool, and even this monstrosity couldn't avoid cracks radiating from its ankle.

If they were lucky, it would throw off its attack.

Lilianna Belwiss

"Yes, you're right that with that access the orc raid wouldn't be the goal..." the white-haired knight answered, looking thoughtful. Of course, it wasn't like someone would partner up with the vermin for those ends, it was simply a waste, "But it's possible that this might be a condition of getting assistance. Providing them with an easy source of fresh meat and worked metal to use to their own ends. Brennan might not be our foe's target but I feel that whatever ploy they might have tried is safe. Not all the knights have left the capital and their attempt to strike down the captain was foiled."

"Was there some reason this came to mind?"
Saber of Black

The Ainsworth meeting hall wasn't bad. Perhaps a bit ostentatious with the draperies, but it seemed a suitable place for co-ordinating a war. Even the final hall approaching it had aimed to build up the grandeur, with rows of posed armour to build expectations. Rows of armour that now lacked their weapons, all stacked knightly in a pile behind the knight aside from a single blade held to symbolise his class. Perhaps unfortunate for the decoration, but it would be unfair of him to expect his Master to shoulder the burden of his true sword for the entire war.

Of course, the room was quite empty for now, with only the knight and his Master occupying it. Saber's eyes briefly flicked down to where the girl was seated at the long table with her stuffed dragon, before turning back to watch the doors. What kind of people the Ainsworth were that they would force a child to be a Master in this... but there was nothing that he could do about it now apart from keep her safe. It would be easy to take her and run but eventually the war would end, and it was unlikely that he could remain in the world beyond that. Leaving a child on their own like that...

They would have to win the war. Maybe by the end, better care could be arranged.

Though it seemed that their isolation was over and the others arriving, as Caster and her Master had arrived now, and Saber inclined his head towards them.

"It was a good thing we could find that suit before everything closed," the white-haired girl said, looking over her shoulder at the Servant she had summoned--and barely able to dress before they needed to be around to see what her younger brother would manage to pull. A Servant that was unable to dematerialise might be something of a liability in the long run... but there was no doubt that this one was strong enough to turn the balance regardless. King Arthur summoned in the strongest class? Command seals could make up for the limitations of a physical form and she was otherwise without drawbacks.

For instance, she didn't seem to have a tight bodysuit and no armour. Assassin, maybe? Though bright blue wasn't a stealthy colour...

Astra

So far, being a Master sucked. Not that there wasn't an appeal in getting paid for--mostly--standing around and letting legendary figures do all the heavy lifting, but it wasn't mentioned just how disagreeable the Servant would be. Just... how this mountain of muscle was who he claimed to be was one question but his ego was quite another.

"Yeah, Astra reporting with Rider," the mage said, slipping in behind him and clarifying which class they'd summoned. Someone was probably keeping track.
Filling in the last red master slot:

  • Name: Astra
  • Age: 30's
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: No, I'm not being imaginative. Though this one is of mixed heritage.
  • Personality: Though trying to maintain a cool, collected air--something that, admittedly, Astra has no trouble with when working--she's not so good at that in social settings, being quite easily irritated and hard to get along with. It's really not a good idea to ask about her family.
  • Skills: Capable of functioning in modern society, even if she lacks any interest in modern technology, and skilled in actual fighting despite being a magus--mostly with knives, though she isn't inept at fighting completely unarmed.
  • Abilities: Coming from a comparatively recent lineage of magi, her family really started to find its feet during the light eighteenth century and, not steeped in the centuries of mystery of other magical families, took a particular interest in this new-fangled electricity thing that was all the rage at the time, mostly for its applications in "hmm, can we use this to create life?" and bio-electricity, but its mechanical uses were of course considered in the process. Not that their wayward scion cares for any of this, save for having a magical circuit with more varied uses for the substance than is immediately apparent. Mostly she focuses on the more direct applications: electric shocks, creating magnetic fields to shoot knives at people (or smaller items if she's out of sharp pointy things), and interacting with mundane technology only in the "okay, stop working now" sense. Though she can control people via direct nerve signals.
More general magecraft talents such as reinforcement are also part of Astra's repertoire, and she's gotten a lot of practice at dealing with bounded fields. Still, by the standards of magi, she's pretty third-rate.
  • Brief Backstory: Astra deliberately keeps her family background under wraps, seeming quite ashamed of it--whatever happened to them happened when she was pretty young, before she was fully taught, and she ended up taking what talents she had and applying them as a mage killer for the Association. Still, it's clear she was raised as the child of a magus; she might hang around in the modern world a lot and play with electricity, but she doesn't get beyond "barely functional" at using tech.
Her motivation to be in the war is greed, pure and simple. The Tohsaka needed Masters in a hurry, after all.
  • Faction: Red Faction

"Looking for something..." Hibiki wondered, half-turning to look at the new arrival and wondering why he was calling them warriors. There seemed to be a distinct lack of, well... weapons amongst them all, with one between the four of them standing there. Though something about the way he held himself reminded her about the commander.

It hadn't shown any indication of being able to understand them so far, but there was nothing better to do than to ask the wolf directly if it was trying to find someone. Maybe with some yes and no questions it could lead them to whatever was keeping it here.

Maybe it was just good timing or some talent of the upper class, but as Leo pointed out the inexplicably starting alien invasion, Klaus was already carefully leaving his empty plate without ever having seemed to rush--certainly not as much as Leo or Zapp ever would--and stepping outside with the gauntlet on his hand. The tall man was certainly not as fast as Youmu but nor was he a stranger to murder and mayhem. He was no less determined to protect the normal people of this city as he was those in Hellsalem's Lot.

And what the aliens were about to learn was that there existed a human capable of punching them hard enough that they exploded and, moreover, was really appreciating how they were travelling in a group, nicely lined up, for a cross made of blood to spear right through a mass of them at a time.

Expecting some self control had obviously, obviously been too much. Let alone expecting them to get into the arcade proper and towards the machines where the point was to just enjoy the game. Tenshi had decided to shake the entire ground out of frustration and Mordred had, of course, broken one. It was a wonder that she was bothering to continue supplying the knight with magical energy at all, since all she seemed to do was cause trouble...

Undoubtedly, they would pick a fight with the arcade owner and complain about rigged machines--even if these weren't that rigged and they were just bad at them--if they stuck around for anyone to come out. Better to deal with CCTV footage and trouble later than watch these idiots start racking up more criminal charges.

Small hands wrapped around each girl's wrist and, with an utterly astonishing amount of force for someone that small, Evangeline did her best to quite literally drag them off. Maybe introducing them to games somewhere safer would be a good idea. After they found a DIY store.
I'm just confused why he has guns in the first place.
@ZekariVoblis ... is there a non-wartorn country on Earth that wouldn't find it problematic if you own machine guns and live grenades? XD
Yeah, don't worry about Fake or myself, we're out of the way. xD
Also please say if you don't have any Master ideas or intent to make one.
@Reflection You've already been told that you're not going to be accepted. Trying again for a different class but copying and pasting the wiki page for said character is not helping at all. The prior verdict stands.
