Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

Honda Ami

Fast... they were both so fast. Until now she hadn't really gotten how big the gap between a Servant and an ordinary human was, but... if she hadn't been concentrating, or if this had been just a few days ago, Ami wasn't sure that she would have even been able to follow what was going on in any capacity--just heard the constant sound of steel ringing on steel. As it was, this only made Assassin's speed all the more impressive, to be able to move like that.

How had someone like that been born in the Shogunate?

Suddenly, standing at the bench didn't seem far enough back for safety--perhaps, yes. She'd jump back a bit, and up, and not lose her balance no matter how giddy she felt about being able to pull off something like that now when she'd always thought it impossible.

But here, from atop a lamppost, it was probably a bit harder for the other Servant to gut her.
Tachibana Hibiki

What Hibiki hadn't been expecting was that instead of the response coming through her phone, it came through the person right in front of her--though, perhaps she should have recognised what was going on? It wasn't as if Chris didn't have several rather distinctive features that made it hard to confuse her with anybody else...

Although she managed to remind the somewhat less focused girl of how baffling it was that they had been transported here when neither of them had the slightest plan to head to Tokyo, their missing third member showed up... looking... strange? Not as strange as Ignite or, worse, the failed Ignite, but there was still something off. Hibiki was inclined to give her some benefit of the doubt given the situation--maybe this was a fake Tokyo and she was here to help?

Chris seemed less certain, but given how destructive any fight with Chris would likely be, the brunette's answer was for Chris to cover the evacuation whilst Hibiki talked with Tsubasa. Because why wouldn't talking work? It was Tsubasa, it wasn't like she would attack unreasonably.

...

Any more.

Though with that in mind, maybe she should be prepared for a fight... grasping her own relic, Hibiki recited her chant...
"Balwisyall nescell Gungnir tron."

... and transformed.

"Tsubasa-sen--" she said, moving closer and... triggering the other gear user to attack? But something about it wasn't right, the jump off of the massive blade and thrust forwards seemed almost clumsy; slower and less threatening than the singer's attacks should normally have been. Not slow enough to be harmless, but slow enough that Hibiki could try something that she'd seen the commander do: catch Tsubasa's blade between two fingers.

It shouldn't have worked. She wasn't as accomplished as Genjuro, supernatural enhancement or not, and Tsubasa had already fallen for this exact trick once. But... it did, and the result was the exact same as the previous occasion: with her sword pinned, it was used as a lever to toss her to one side, straight into a bank of claw machines. The exact same that Hibiki had been playing on earlier.

A plush Maria incongruously bounced out of the broken machines and off the strange Tsubasa's head.

She really didn't want to fight Tsubasa properly...
Tachibana Hibiki

With the day off from training or anything else--and even better, tests and studying over--there was plenty of time for Hibiki to consider doing something more relaxing. For instance, paying a visit to Chris! There was always the possibility of her getting lonely, and so the younger girl thought it would be an excellent idea to come over and hang out for a while. It didn't hurt that her apartment was the best furnished of any that the S.O.N.G. members happened to live in.

But of course, as soon as she said goodbye to Miku and left to make the trip, she found herself... in an arcade? Rows of blinking lights, machiens trying to attract her attention... at first, the brunette was apprehensive. There was so much wrong with unexpectedly finding yourself transported to an arcade, because she knew that she didn't live right next to one. It was also, though, a fairly benign place to be, and with a lack of some pressing reason to go on alert, she found herself looking at some of the prizes in the process.

And then she saw the impossible. Sat in a claw machine, a collection of figures wearing what was undoubtedly Lydian Academy uniforms. Why on Earth would anyone have bothered to make plushies like that? It was, as far as the public was concerned, just another school--but then something important caught her eye. That one was undoubtedly Tsubasa, even if she had graduated now; the strange, strange hairstyle confirmed it. But just to one side, there was one that could only resemble...!

As an employee warned her a minute later, hot-blooded yelling wasn't appreciated for a claw machine, nor did it actually improve your chances of winning. But at least she had gotten what she wanted by then: her very own Miku! Not that it held a candle to the real thing, but it was nice, even if she was confused why she was in an arcade.

As the girl was making her way out of the arcade, stood behind a white-haired girl, Hibiki's phone started to ring... Chris? Did she need something? "Hello?"
"I am wiz ze elf, you should trust uzzers to know zeir own knowledge. If I were to, say, order someone to stop... it might be, ah, dangerous if zey did not listen," the drider stated, getting the feeling that they were all talking about something completely different... but in her mind it got the important information over. If she told everyone to stop, then they ought to stop--and if someone with any trap knowledge said the same, then Myrielle was going to stay where she was and not be the idiot to lose a hand to a descending ceiling.

Leyna, of course, had just received a crash course in how quietly something with so many limbs could move, seeing as the mage had spoken up from right behind her.

With surprisingly good reflexes, Ami was on her feet and in position to draw her sword when Rider announced himself, only to look a bit sheepish as her Servant reminded her which of them was really there to fight... certainly not the schoolgirl whose main goal was to survive the war intact without anybody going home and doing something to her family.

Still, if Rider had come out so openly and not just attacked... he couldn't be that confident, could he? Rider wasn't the best class in a fight, not like Saber or Lancer, so maybe he'd be more willing to talk now and leave killing each other until later? It would only put the problem off for a little while, but if they could eliminate the more dangerous opponents together...

"Ah... do we have to be fighting each other? There might be more dangerous enemies we can't defeat alone."

"Caster"

A wish, huh? Always the same question, and always the same answer--except for maybe the first few times: "If I had a wish, then it wouldn't be one that this grail could grant." When you started to mess with time, you got a good idea of exactly what sort of things were able to cause paradoxes.

Their journey ended quickly enough--it was entirely unsurprising that the catacombs lead directly to the church--and Kezia lead the way into the church. It wasn't likely that the Overseer would decide to do anything, but this woman worried her in a way that most magi or church agents couldn't even begin to.

Though she was confident that if it absolutely came to it, then she could win the ensuing fight.
The First Caster, Anno Stop Being Imprecise

Sadly, it seemed that their plans left little time to continue trying to get to know the Greek hero... not that she seemed to be responding well to it in the first place. Maybe she would have to step back and try a slightly more measured approach after this. Perhaps try to make a meal with whatever Chaldea might have available... if there was an opportunity, hunt something before returning and cook a meal with that...

Even a genius emperor such as herself had to cast aside such thoughts when going to confront a monster of this magnitude. Long-range bombardment as a distraction... it would obviously be helpful to have something in mind before going on, and what better than to once again show her superiority to Apollo? Naturally, there was a distinct lack of a chariot to help, but a laser to equal the sun... yes, if she took the idea of firing many beams of light and concentrated them on one spot, then even that mutt would take notice!

Until it hid itself with a wall of ice. A small matter, though, as the blonde's perpetually-levitating stance (not because of height!) rose slightly higher and her gesture pointed at it. Focus the beams and burn through, it would still work for certain...!

Work it did--at least on breaking through the wall of ice, the concentrated lasers spearing through and causing the wall to melt around. Unfortunately, whatever lay beyond was not particularly hampered by the magical force heading its way, breaking through enough firepower to represent the majority of Nero's reserves and penetrating through its own wall with a pace to suddenly leap upon Saber--

Alter-Ego

Quite what anyone might have been expecting to intercept Fenrir and its enormous bulk couldn't be said, but what did evidence itself was a blur of white; a ball spinning from the edge of the cavern and ramping off a small ledge and smashing into the enormous beast--though even though the ball was itself far bigger than a person, the sun-eater dwarfed it. But when it hit, there was a thunderclap, and the white figure spun off to land on its feet--and the beast's charge was thrust aside, staggering and forcing it to find its footing again.

As for the source of the ball? Now revealed to be a white bear, its "owner" was walking forwards towards Keisuke, firing frozen arrows into the summoned beasts. A small, doll-like girl dressed in pink, but with a serious expression--"Saber's here as well?"

  • Name: Tachibana Hibiki
  • Gender: Female
  • Personality: Hibiki's greatest strength is her ability to reach out to anyone, even enemies, and to try and come to a mutual understanding without needing to fight. It doesn't matter who you are or what you've done, she's still going to make the offer and only come down to fighting if it absolutely has to be done. This goes well with her normal cheerful and enthusiastic disposition, one that has had her roommate compare her to the sun. On top of this, she approaches everything with maximum effort... quite loudly as well, even if it's as utterly mundane as a crane game--though not studying, which is definitely one of her greater flaws. Whilst her heart's unerringly in the right place and she's got the drive to do things... Hibiki isn't the smartest tool in the shed.
Despite appearances, Hibiki's attitude is far from unshakeable--being forced to fight people, especially those that seem to have the same goals, will cause her to hesitate, and her past can cause her to stop as much as it can help bridge the gap with enemies. Anything involving her roommate can get to her extremely easily, too.
  • Brief History: Four years ago, Hibiki went to a Zwei Wing concert, one that was almost invaded by Noise after the first song. Had it been any other concert, everyone would have died. In this one, the singers were also the only Symphogear users--and thus able to fight back against the Noise. Unfortunately, this didn't help the outcome much at all, with the entire rest of the audience being killed and Hibiki only surviving because one of the singers gave her life for it. The public response to her survival wasn't exactly pleasant, but that would have been the end of it if not for the shard of Gungnir that buried itself in her chest--something that Hibiki would activate two years later to save a child.
The events that followed lead her to engage in a lot more violence than she ever would have wanted to, yet in the end have definitely turned out for the better, making her relationship with her closest friend even closer and numerous other friends to boot. Well, it also saved the world several times over from such diverse things as a blonde with a grudge against the moon and an alchemist with a really big hat. Since things began, she's lost the original shard buried in her chest, yet gotten a more complete Symphogear regardless, and the entire system has been upgraded a few times.
  • Universe of Origin: Senki Zesshou Symphogear
  • Equipment: Hibiki carries a piece of the relic Gungnir, turned into a Symphogear--essentially, a technomagical system powered by singing that was created to fight against entities known as the Noise, which have the ability to turn anything they touch into ash. Transformed, it vastly increases her physical capabilities, rendering her bulletproof and able to move in time to respond to being shot at--even by artillery, catching a tank shell in her hands. Normally, a Symphogear would allow the wielder to summon an Armed Gear--the weapon that went into creating it--but Hibiki is for some reason unable to do this. Instead, she simply uses Gungnir to enhance more physical moves. This ranges from the comparatively simple spring-aided punches and kicks, all the way up to rocket-propelled drill punches, pretty much compensating entirely for the lack of the spear, though without any special moves to show for it. It's implied that Hibiki's Armed Gear is actually her ability to hold hands; in practice, this allows her to co-ordinate and focus other people's power... even an enemy's, though this only works with Phonic Gain, so if you aren't powered by singing it's unlikely to matter.
On top of this, the whole thing is equipped with an IGNITE module--a piece of Dainsleif. When activated, it gives a boost in power inversely proportional to how long it can safely be used, at max release lasting a matter of seconds. If it was allowed to continue, the most likely outcome is for Dainsleif to drive her into being a berserk monstrosity. This is the less dangerous super mode that the Symphogear has: the other is called a Swan Song for a reason, even with an exceedingly high sync ratio, the user is going to get one attack... and then they're out of the fight in need of immediate medical attention. Bleeding from the eyes is probably the least of the issues with using that.
  • Abilities: Aside from Gungnir, Hibiki has a wide and eclectic knowledge of martial arts... picked up from watching and emulating action movies of all things, which is hardly a normal or particularly cohesive way to learn to fight. It, however, seems to have worked out perfectly fine for her, and even without Gungnir she could punch far harder than any girl her age should be physically able to--though she still has nothing on her teacher's crazy level of ability.
  • Other:
In this little group, though, it was Tyaethe that had all the subtlety of a sinking ship, taking a step forwards and anchoring her shield against the ground in a manner that showed exactly how much trust the paladin had for this strange magic user. "What are you doing with the orcs?"
Ah, the little girl was protesting that she didn't take orders. It was almost cute, except that there would always be situations where you had to listen to someone more experienced in the field. So if she walked into a magical trap and got herself turned into a barbecued zombie, then it wasn't going to be because Myrielle had failed to warn her.

The spider-mage looked over at the vendor briefly, but had minimal interest in her wares. Foreign food was likely to be something completely inedible, and foreign equipment... anything of a magical bent was best sourced locally from Ithillin, where she could examine all of its properties. Curios from a far-distant land? There was no chance of needing that.

"Team up... but how would we find them..." Ami wondered, looking around at the park. Nothing seemed terribly out of place as far as the girl was concerned and if there was some kind of surveillance, then it was certainly above her skill to detect. Could magical observation even be detected? That wasn't very magical of it if it could be picked up. "Do we go looking around for the first enemy Servant? Or do I just ask out loud 'if anyone is here, can they please come out so we can talk?'"

It was probably a bit inconvenient for any eavesdroppers that until then, Ami and Assassin had both been speaking Japanese. And unfortunate for the schoolgirl, as it made her look more competent than she really was.

"Caster"

"Of course, Miss Eirisphere, but first..." the witch said, stepping lightly off her broom and forward--then plucking the map from between her master's hands. The girl was just a bit too hasty for her own good... and then turning the yellowed page around to hand it over the right way up, "As you can see, you had the map upside down and the correct tunnel is... that one."

She would rather not spend three hours lost in the wrong catacomb and arrive at the church when someone else was more likely to be there. IF they got going right now, they could get in and out before any later Masters might arrive--the Japanese one probably didn't have a clue about the Overseer's existence yet, let alone the idea of introducing yourself--and after any of the war's early starters had already gone and introduced themselves.

"I'm confident if we go now, we won't encounter any resistance."
