"Oh dear!" Vera yelped in dismay as an entire can of paint crashed to the floor, making an even bigger mess.

She sometimes forgot that Professor Dawn had the tendency to slip into a world of her own when she was by herself. In spite of dropping her idea to prank the teacher, Vera had ended up startling her anyway. The suddenly invisible figure then spoke, telling her what she had already observed to have happened, though, Professor Dawn sounded like she did not mind at all, and she appeared again before turning off the music that had been playing in the background.

Vera cautiously entered when the teacher invited her in, excessively conscious of the fresh paint that covered the floor and some of the furniture. She wondered how Professor Dawn could go about doing whatever she had to while covered in paint. Surely that would be somewhat uncomfortable? Vera walked over to one of the chairs, checking for any wet paint on it before taking a seat. It was apparent that the teacher had been working on a... personal project? She could not see what was on the canvas from where she was seated, but smiled to herself when she thought of an idea about how she could utilize her new powers.

She could sense the light that was reflecting off of the canvas, and as she turned to face a blank wall, directed that light right into her own eyes, enabling her to see the image on the canvas against the wall.

"A lovely work of art you've got there, Ma'am," she began, not factoring that the sight of her staring at a blank wall might be rather strange and confusing for someone else.

@KatherinWinter On my side I'll let the two fighters in front respond before I do again, but if Roxy needs something to do in the meantime, then sure :)
@Legion-114 Hey there, think I'm gonna drop out. I was hoping I could catch on, but I really don't think this is for me. Have fun peeps!

Myra nodded to Shadow with a light smile. "The trombone it shall be then."

She then turned to Mrs. Clause, who had spoken to them right after their conversation. "That's good to know. I'd like to try another one when we have the class again."

Jazzy then caught her attention when she addressed her, and she turned to see the fox-girl holding a painted flute. The child then ran over to join an admittedly attractive redhead teenage boy who was already playing an acoustic guitar. She was impressed at their levels of skill and hope to one day be just as good with an instrument.

Myra glanced through the given song, not knowing where to start. She then raised her hand before speaking up.

"May I request a short lesson on how to read sheet music, Ma'am?"

@KatherinWinter @DominoPool @Blueflame
Yeah, was confused by this though...

"If any of you know how to play an instrument please go stand by it. If you want to learn to play an instrument stand in the middle. If you don't congradulations you are a singer. Please stand by the door."
@KatherinWinter Aren't the ones wanting to learn an instrument standing in the middle though?

Will try to post tomorrow.

Vera made her way down the corridor, admiring her painted nails decorated with tiny gems that reflected the light. She had just gotten them done the day before, and was still not over how pretty they were. The city had an abundance of what seemed like everything - beauty salons, laundromats, clothing stores, restaurants... She might just go broke if she kept going out there- wait, no, that would be impossible. Even so, she had to remind herself of what was really important. She had been sent to the academy for a reason, and that was to learn how to control her light ability. After practicing for three months, Vera was rather satisfied with her progress. She was glad to be able to use her ability without blinding anyone. It had been manageable, once she did a little research on her element and taught herself to picture light being made up of many tiny particles. What were those again? Right, photons. She now felt a connection with them, and felt much more in control.

Of course, the academy did not neglect basic education. When the first-years were informed of the different streams of study that they were allowed to choose from, Vera was immediately drawn to the Arts, particularly to visual arts, and she knew exactly why. She had developed a keen interest in design due to her family business, and hoped that she could develop her creativity and design skills at the academy as well. Naturally, the new environment had been rather overwhelming, especially for someone like her who had led an extremely comfortable life. She was grateful that she had a friend and dorm mate to support her and help her learn some independence. Silas was a really sweet boy, though, she wished that he did not have the tendency to spew such unpleasant language at times. She found herself spending less time with him as the weeks went by, due to the differences in their elements and specialized classes.

Vera was looking forward to meeting her art teacher, who doubled as her elemental mentor. She had figured out how to deliberately direct light reflecting off of other objects right into people's eyes, basically creating illusions by making them see what was not in front of them. She arrived at the art room, intending to surprise Professor Dawn with a little prank using her newfound ability, but ended up being the one surprised at the state that the classroom was in. There was paint everywhere, even on the teacher herself. Vera instinctively stopped at the doorway, slightly repelled by the colorful mess, and cautiously peered in.

"Professor Dawn?"
