SkyeOfStarsAlexanda opened the door to her flat to the typical scene she had been coming home to for the past couple of years - a dark-haired teenage boy lounging on the couch in front of the blaring television in the living room. A steaming, cheesy twelve inch seafood pizza was in an opened box on top of the coffee table between the television and couch, and the boy was already contently munching on a slice. The redhead grinned, immediately making her way over to join her ward and brother.
"Looks like I'm just in time for dinner," she began, plopping onto the couch and grabbing a slice of pizza for herself.
"Well done, Dynara," was all he said in reply, eyes still fixed on the screen.
"Hmm?" Alexanda turned her attention to the television see what he meant.
The evening news was on, showing footage of police officers around the battered getaway car of a couple of criminals. The both of them, of course, knew who was responsible for the damage. Apart from her brother, nobody else knew about Alexanda's double life since the deaths of her adoptive parents. Well, as far as she knew anyway. To the public, Dynara was simply a super-powered vigilante who appeared whenever and wherever she was needed and disappeared right after. She was grateful to the fact that she was self-employed, which allowed her to do what she was doing. She obviously enjoyed her civilian job too, providing her with sufficient amusement daily.
The surrounding area was as quiet as always as Alexanda left her apartment later that night with a large bag of trash to dump in the big bin outside the building. She stepped into the elevator to make her way down. The descent to the ground floor, as usual, felt longer than it actually was, leaving her counting down the levels in her head as she waited for the doors to open.
