Nickname: To his friends he is Akamatsu-san or Hiko-san

Birth date and age: February 22nd, 20 years old

In Depth Appearance:
Standing at 174 cm (about 5' 8.5") he's just slightly taller than his average fellow countrymen with a slender build and good posture. He has handsome features which bespeak noble birth and the general attitude that the world owes him something. He usually wears his hair long and his choice of clothing is always formal. He carries himself as someone who is accustomed to being treated with respect and is, in turn, very polite to almost everyone he meets. Those who have spoken to him only as an acquaintance would describe him as cold and distant, someone who does not like to be emotionally involved.

Akamatsu's general attitude toward other people is probably his most notable personality trait. He tends to hold even his close friends at arm's length and although he can be quite charming and even funny at times, such things could hardly be called a genuine expression of emotion. You're never quite sure if he likes you, but you'll definitely know if he doesn't. As a rule stemming from cultural mores, he's polite and respectful to everyone, but he always finds ways to express his displeasure toward someone that circumvents etiquette. He has observed that Westerners get especially hot under the collar when you pretend you don't know what it was you said to upset them. It's about the only thing that really amuses him and he never grows tired pushing other people's buttons. 

On a professional level, Akamatsu is surprisingly easy to collaborate with. He's a natural leader with a strong work ethic and the ability to see clearly from point A to point B, always completing the goal he sets out to achieve. This makes him very well-liked and admired by his colleagues, who look to him with the sort of reverence as befits his social and political standing. 

Akamatsu's personal skills and achievements are a source of pride to him. Not only is he immensely creative and good at working with his hands, but he also possesses a variety of other skills that he believes contribute to his overall value as a human being. Anything he learns, he works hard at and tries to become the best.

Biography: 
As you may have guessed, Akamatsu Hiko is the son of Nihon's emperor: Akamatsu Aki. Although his birthright puts him at the very top of Nihon's classist social structure, it does not actually grant him any political power. The Emperor is more of a symbol to the people than anything else, and the real power lies in the hands of a democratic republic which elects a President whose power borders on dictatorship which makes him more like a king (the President is actually commonly referred to as "Shogun" due to the fact that most of his influence is backed by military force). 

This is the world that Akamatsu Hiko was born into. His parents pressured him into politics at a young age and his familial heritage granted him almost unlimited privileges. As a child he was schooled in history, political strategy, military strategy, martial arts, languages, and economics in addition to the higher maths and sciences. He is fluent in Japanese, English, and German with at least a conversational grasp on French, Italian, Russian, Spanish, and a handful of other languages. By all rights Akamatsu was--and is--a genius, and recognized for it. By the time he completed high school he was working as a personal assistant to the President himself, who had taken a liking to young Hiko. 

Of course, the boy had his own ideas on how an empire ought to be run, and he intends to change the system gradually. If not elected President himself one day he most certainly will succeed his father as Emperor. If all goes according to plan, he hopes to achieve both, thus restoring power to the Emperor as a supreme ruler. The fact that he must consent to an arranged marriage means very little to him. Marriage is, after all, just another political move, one that he's not especially interested in but won't argue with nonetheless.
