Ditzy Stoneclub

Finally getting the person over his shoulder, Ditzy quickly latched onto Nagare. The moment they took off, Ditzy felt every ounce of his strength fade away. Making him leaned over and face pressed flatly on top of Nagare scales. Feeling completely drained and burned out.

Still, the last scenery of seeing the sunset was beautiful at least as Ditzy slumbered for a while.

Then when they finally stop and land on the ground, that woke Ditzy up as he looked around briefly and stumbled from Nagare. Leading him fall upon his back with a painful thud.

"Ow." Ditzy said out of habit rather than actual pain, clearing the dirt out of his hair and looking absolutely wrecked. Since most of the fight he had was all ground fights.

"Okay. Come back for dinner." Ditzy lazily waved as he entered the house. His weapon was half-dragging behind him in tow.

@Rezod92@Stern Algorithm

Opening the door without ceremony, Ditzy was greeted by everyone standing around Bart. Shaking him up from his droopy eyelids.

For the others, they're greeted by Ditzy who's in an absolute mess. Dirt covered him completely, his pants was dirty and small holes can be seen from the seams. The usual energy that Ditzy had early in the morning was all gone as he couldn't even raised himself straight or even smile.

"Hey, caught man, lost against monster. Ditzy tired, Ditzy go sleep." He summarized it to Bart before heading to his room for a bath and sleep.

After that, Ditzy slumbered without a single disturbance. Being done for the day.

Yang Bethlehem

Yang kept her breath slow, readied and schooled her face for her report...

Only to be met with no one but Guildmaster Bart, taking her by surprise completely as he was alone.

But that cannot be, she was sure that she heard armored boots. Her breathing picked up as she looked around.

"I just...heard more footsteps and thought there'll be more guests." She recovered quickly and bowed her head forward for Guildmaster Bart return. "But for our jobs, me and Kira finished ours without much fuss. Also we had some earlier guest of monster girls consistent of mices and insects. It seems they're freeloading from us."

Hopefully, that last part would distract him more even as Yang focused her ears and sense to find any presences aside from Bart.

Though a heavy thud from far had her body tense, it seems more new presence had arrived. Her hair stood at the back of her neck as she looked at the door, wondering just who was the new presence as the door slowly turned.

Only to reveal Ditzy, absolutely tired and dirty, dragging his feet the whole time as he barely acknowledged them and headed up to sleep.

"Don't skip dinner too often." She warned but Ditzy didn't listen and just headed upwards to his room.

Sorry for the late reply, got some work to do.

Ditzy Stoneclub

Ditzy managed it, somehow, Ditzy despite in his exhausted state managed to win once again.

But of course, since Ditzy was the strongest.

By the time he let go and quickly scramble to the fight, catching the tail end of Reed somehow managing to take down the Ogre easily by pinching the neck.

Ditzy wondered if Reed was willing to teach that to him.

As they moved out, Ditzy suddenly recall the entire mission and why they're here.

"Wait!" Ditzy quickly scramble to the luggage train as fast as he can, then quickly finding their target that had been kidnapped. Thankfully, it didn't take long since it was prob the only male in their train.

Lugging him like a sack of potatoes, Ditzy quickly hobbled as fast as he can before gesturing to Reed.

"Okay! Now leave!" Ditzy said, ignoring the protest and muttering of both monster girl and the man he's carrying.

It'll be bad if they can't finish the mission after all the trouble.

Yang Bethlehem

"Hmm." Yang nodded off, not really caring too much about it. Freeloaders that she didn't even realized existed being invited for dinner and asked to leave seemed unlikely.

Oh well, if they came back, then she'll put them to work even if it's just household duties or just tidying things up.

Giving their goodbyes to them, Yang stretched her arm and yawned. Hoping to get to bed.

That's when the sound of hooves coming outside but the noise that snapped her attention the most was the clanking metallic sound. Her expression changed immediately all traces of exhaustion left her, adrenaline spiking and coursing.

"Kira," She gestured for her to come, the implication clear as she lead the way to the front. Hoping that the worse news didn't come.

Otherwise...

Yang slammed her fist together out of habit, the metallic prayer beads ringing together as she went to greet Guildmaster Bart.

@PaulHaynek@AzureKnight@13org

Ditzy Stoneclub

"Ok!" Ditzy pumped his fist into the air, regaining some of his bravado and courage. This time, they're going to win!

"Ditzy will take care of orcs first!" He looked at Ada and pointed two of his fingers to the orcs, indicating that those two were his first target.

With that said, Ditzy didn't hesitate, scrapping the ground similar to how a bull would do before initiating his charge, Ditzy hurled himself forward like one.

Or at least, as one can with a Hobgolin imbalance and speed in mind.

Still, it was enough to pick up speed and like a cart barreling down into a haystack, Ditzy once again caught the two off-guard. Clotheslining the two with two powerful hooks, enough to send them tumbling to the ground.

Then continuing his charge, Ditzy met eye to eye with the minotaur, the latter in surprise as he had joined in the battle again.

Not hesitating and taking a unique approach, similar to how Ditzy handles hell boars, Ditzy raised his right arm high for a haymaker.

Eyes focused on that, Ditzy continued forward until he was a reach away from the minotaur.

Then at the last moment, Ditzy left hand came forward, tugged on the minotaur legs and pulled her down into the ground. Coiling quickly like a snake, Ditzy got a firm head hold on the Minotaur, this time, adding to his weight was his legs that crossed around her chest. Giving him complete control.

With that, Ditzy can only continue to hold on until they won.

Yang Bethlehem

Walking silently and not blaming Kira for that, Yang hauled the money back to the guild.

In her mind, she swore to not take another Varjo quest if possible or any time soon. Each encounter seemed harsher and harsher.

Perhaps she should take a day off, or an easy request the next day?

With the day turning to night, they finally reached back to their guild. Belatedly wishing for a bath, food and rest, she sauntered her way in.

Then her eyes boggled at the large amount of people and monsters congregated, some she didn't even know or recognized. Seeing the food however had her mouth watered and she pushed that question to the side.

The two entered and found that the kitchen was filled with a dozen or so little monsters, particularly Giant Mice and Devil Bugs, all of whom were feasting happily on some well-made lasagna. Besides them were the Altissima sisters, Freyr and his lover, Haley. "Oh hey, you two." The Siren appeared as exhausted as the monk and the Beelzebub.

"By the Demon Lord, you two look horrible. Are you two alright?"

"Oh, rough request. Just...rough." Yang said as she plonked the money down before clearing her throat to Freyr.

@13org

"If Guildmaster Bart asked where we got the money from, say it's partly from your quest. Okay?" Yang quickly moved her lips quietly and mouthed the simple words without uttering a word.

Varjo.

Tapping his shoulders, Yang looked towards the food, and ungraciously just plonked herself between the myriad of Giant Mice and Devil bug. Before taking a chunk of the food and started digging in, completely uncaring of her condition.

"This is good."

Ditzy Stoneclub

Ditzy shoulder was grasped by Nagare, the latter of whom looking much solemn.

Her words didn't make much sense to him but it was enough for Ditzy to tell by looking at the body language. It took a slight wind from Ditzy as Nagare went forward instead.

Then she transformed into a dragon, which lit up his heart in awe and excitement despite how the situation was devolving.

When asked on how to proceed, Ditzy looked at the situation. It looks like Nagare wants to fight one on one but the rest of the other monster girls are interfering.

Ditzy eyes narrowed at that, it wasn't fair at all!

"Ditzy say we beat up the group! Dragon lady will beat ogre, and if we win, then it's good!" Ditzy pointed out to them, thinking on how to effectively win, Ditzy can only sigh distastefully at that. "Reed go fight...lizards, Ditzy can beat up orcs and minotaur!"

Finally admitting that he doubt he can win against the more agile ones, the only ones left are to pit strength against strength. While he was weakened, Ditzy was more than ready to keep fighting.

Once their marks was decided, Ditzy would go in and fight with all his might.

Yang Bethlehem

"Perhaps." She quietly said towards Maria words, Yang was indeed reminded of the brutal realities that some fight cannot be lost as well as the actions needed for it.

Her own nation wasn't free of it, but it had developed...ways around it so that all out war was the final solution. Other nations might not have their luxuries.

It was another lesson, of why her master who once travelled the world, settled down on Zipangu. Perhaps this was one of the reason why.

"I only ask that you remember and use mercy when the time is needed, sheer mindless brutality can work." Yang advised, even if it's to no effect. "But that brutality may turn against you."

She ended as the rebels took their leave. "I bid thee farewell and safe journey."

Seeing the large sack of gold being given to them, Yang eyebrow rose as it was unceremoniously given to Kira. The sheer amount of gold was staggering.

Looking around the scene of carnage as they depart, she moved to place their robes over themselves before offering a hand to Kira to carry one of the gold sack.

"Come, let's leave and head home. I do not wish to explain how this gold came to be if possible to Guildmaster Bart." Yang tiredly said.

Yang Bethlehem

"Wait, no-!" Yang raised her arms but the battle had worn her stamina away, unable to do more even as the champion she spared was murdered.

That just sapped any other protest as she looked onwards without a word, the mess left behind was barely recognizable. She finally understood what her master said when she'll be faced with trials unimaginable.

Yang wanted to cry, to shout, or do anything.

Yet she can't, it was too much.

This hatred formed between the two, Varjo and the rebels. Both had sunk far too deep into it.

How would she even begin to mend this hate?

Shoulders sagging, Yang could only bring her hands together and muttered a prayer for the champion, who name she didn't even know, depart this world peacefully.

Hate and curse me, all you want but may you find peace to achieve nirvana.

Seeing how Kira behaved, it snapped her back before she placed a hand on Kira's shoulder gently. Sharing a look and shook her head. "Endure it, endure for now."

Her eyes went to the sides, everyone is still high on tension and they had no fuss about murdering a prisoner. If they so much say the wrong words, it could easily turn towards them.

It also made her wondered, if this was how the rebels felt, how much worse does the Varjo behave to engender such hate.

Yang eyes blurred, her feet unsteady and eyes swam as she had to use Kira for support. It took Yang a moment to even register what Maria said to her. Taking deep steadying breaths, Yang only inclined her head to her. "I see, our task are done then? Do we have to listen to the plan or will it come at a another date?"

If possible, Yang wished to just head back to the guild but she can afford to endure more if needed.

This throbbing in her head is making it hard to focus. Yang swore she can see spot at the corner of her eyes.

Ditzy Stoneclub

Ditzy always believed he was strong, and he was strong.

Yet today, Ditzy was never pushed this far before.

Tired, out of breath, muscles not moving accordingly and worse than usual, vision occasionally blurring.

So when the ogre slipped out of his headlock and grabbed his neck to lift him up easily, it shocked Ditzy. Her fingers felt nearly immovable, it was close to mama's own grip.

"Ditzy isn't pretty strong," He said with a grin even as he tried to grip back the ogre's arm although failing to summon the strength yet Ditzy tried. "Ditzy IS strong."

How could he not? This was the first time, someone else was stronger than him. It was the first time that he could play all he wants, and was still losing. That thrill, the excitement, the rush of fighting and proving he's the strongest.

It was the greatest feeling he ever had!

His brain tried to figure out a way to escape and turn the tides, how would papa do it? He always was able to escape mama's grip after all, so it wasn't impossible.

At the bare edges of his thoughts, Reed interrupted it by offering to surrender.

Ditzy stared wide-eyed, why is he surrendering? Ditzy can still fight!

Then hearing his proclamation, it confused Ditzy for a bit. It took a moment to sort out those large confusing words.

Piecing it together, Reed seems to say he'll go with them since he lost.

He will go?

Ditzy tilted to the sides, understanding why, but why should he go? Ditzy was the one who wanted this fight.

Does Reed think Ditzy is weak and that's why he wanted to help?

Does this means, Ditzy will be responsible for Reed leaving?

...

No.

Ditzy blood rushed to his head as he understood the implication and meaning. Whatever stamina that he ran out of, rage provided momentarily. But more than, the eagerness to prove that he was strong, and most of all, above all else. That it was he that faulted, and not Reed. That Reed shouldn't leave because of him.

"Reed is stupid!" Ditzy cried out, then a memory flashed through him as he recalled how his father finally got out of grips.

With a sudden sharp strike to the ogre's elbow with his knuckles, showing a surprising amount of accuracy as Ditzy struck the tendon. Forcing a reflex action as her grip loosened itself allowing Ditzy to slip away from it and landing on his feet.

"Ditzy was the one who wanted to fight! Ditzy was the one who took the paper!" Ditzy roared swinging a haymaker, moving in tandem with all of his body and none of the usual instability. Perhaps it was the fatigue forcing his body to find a ways to stand, or plain stubbornness. "Reed is not leader, Ditzy is!"

Whatever it was, for the first time, Ditzy managed to transfer all energy going upwards from his legs, waist, body, arm and fist into a proper punch without any of the windups.

"And Ditzy not surrender yet!" Slamming right into the solar plexus of the ogre, it was not up to Ditzy usual full strength but it was enough to give pause as air rushed out of the ogre from surprise and concentrated strength all into a single tiny area. "Reed is not even a knighty! Ditzy is leader, strongest hobgoblin, and male too!"

He knows that he wasn't smart as others, only in strength did he excelled but he knows one thing. If one does something wrong, admit to it and bear all es-pond-bili-tea. That's the most important thing his dad taught him, that the principal his father follows.

"That's why Ditzy should be one to leave if lose!" As if to emphasize his gender, Ditzy removed the top of his clothing before tying it to his forehead. Showing to all his bare chest, and that indeed, instead of a flat-chested muscled female hobgoblin, he was a male. One of a kind and unique existence.

"Come, if Ditzy wins, then all follow. If not, then Ditzy will follow instead."Eyes glared straight at the ogre, wanting to end this fight and all the will to continue fighting. Ditzy took a stance for a final round. Betting everything into a single blow.

Idly, at the corner of his mind, Ditzy was also aware that they still need to recover poet man.

Yang Bethlehem

It felt like forever before the champion finally passed out, from the corner of her eyes, Yang was barely aware of just how close she was to bite the dust even as Kira ultimate move managed to buy enough time for the tides to turn.

Once it did, there's no stopping the varjan from routing. Soldiers fled and the champion still in her grasp.

From the corner of her eyes, a rebel came and asked to finish off the champion.

Taking a decision, she tightened her hold.

Only to ensure the champion passed out as she cut off the oxygen and blood flow. It barely took thirty seconds but it was good enough as she quickly tied the champion.

Though Yang did tenderly reattached the broken fingers to the best of her abilities. Fashioning a brace with sticks and making sure it's straight so it wouldn't be crooked when it reset the bones.

Taking a look at the defeated opponent and then her hands, Yang could only shake her head.

"No, can't kill the defeated and captured. Makes us...worse." Yang slowly said in a different accent similar to the rebels, aware that her idealistic way would lead to more problems and that it doesn't stop them from killing her secretly. But she'll be damned if she didn't try at least. "Please, don't kill her. If can, try to convince to help our side?"

Frankly, Yang doesn't know what to do. Fighting on the battlefield with one's life on the line, she can do that, but taking others?

She didn't dare to because her master didn't. It would be a betrayal of his teaching as well.

"Ey, what you suggest?" Yang discreetly turned towards Kira, not addressing her by name at all just in case the champion was listening in.
