Who aren't really evil per say. More just a mild annoyance really.
I mean if I go with a second one it probably be Yumemi because I always seem to have fun writing her but probably going to stick with just Maria for the time being.

It's a good show. It's different from the rest of the genre. But it's impact on the genre was a splash in the pan compared to what Evangelion did to mecha. For all people say that "oooh, massive deconstruction, never gonna see the genre the same again!" it just... Kind of kept puttering along regardless. It's pretty much the only "dark" magical girl show to really work out, with the genre still being dominated by the likes of Magic Kung Fu Lesbians Precure.
...Like I said it is 6:20am and I am not good at debating at this time. Also it's not even Urobuchi's best work in my opinion. XD Kamen Rider Gaim and Fate/Zero are my one and two of his work.
Also also I can never seem to get around to watching anime when it is still recent for some reason. ^^;
Also I should note Ramma 1/2 as seventh.

ONE OF MY FAVOURITE MANGA. Never actually watched any of the anime though. ^^;
...I am being erratic right now because it is past 6am.
...I feel like I need to clarify that I meant Madoka is my sixth favourite magical girl anime, not my sixth favourite anime in general. ^^; I'm not even sure if it's in my top ten really, but then I am old so there's a lot of old stuff there.

Unless you've read Tsukihime at least. XD Although Ryougi's MEoDP are better than Shiki's at least.
Do not watch any Tsukihime anime though for there is no Tsukihime anime.

...As much as I liked the original series, it kind of got knocked off my top five due to several... Issues I have with both the fanbase and the fact that I believe it should've stayed as a stand alone thing and never franchised off into all those spinoffs (which for the most part are pretty bad).
It kind of gets to the point that I kind of unfairly assume that anyone who says that it's their favourite magical girl anime... Well, I usually assume that it's also the only magical girl anime they've seen. ^^;
...Still probably number six though if we only count the original series and disregard all the spinoffs and whatnot but hey.
