And then you wake up because sadly that can only exist in the land of dreams.

I'm really not a dog person (crippling cynophobia will do that to you) but I would protect Pombon with my life.

"...I'm awake my eyes just felt heavy for a second wasn't sleeping!"

The tone indicating she'd just gotten a new message had cut into the music she was listening to, rudely awaking the blonde girl from a rather pleasant dream about... Well, she couldn't exactly remember what it was about but she just knew it had to be a good one, since otherwise the world wouldn't have decided to cut into it like this.

Hum... Go see America, they said. Stop acting like a kid already, they said. Just the same old boring, monotonous... Boredom as back home...

Sighing, she paused the music she'd been sleeping to (Helloween's 7 Sinners album, track 5... A shame, really, since she liked that song) and grudgingly checked the text.

...She had to take a few moments to take it all in, but soon enough...

"...YES! IT FINALLY HAPPENED!" Bolting up from her seat, any residual sleepiness she had seemed to have suddenly and dramatically burned off. Her eyes seemed to glow with an inner fire (or was that just the light reflecting from her glasses?) as she rushed outside the train, out into the verdant greenery of a new world. She definitely wasn't in Kansas anymore, that's for sure... Not that she was in Kansas before. Actually, she couldn't remember what state she'd been in and which she was heading to next, but that didn't seem important at all anymore. The only thing that was important now was that she'd finally been called forth. The only thing that was important was that she'd finally be able to fulfil her destiny.

There was nothing that could stop her from becoming the Hero of Justice she'd always dreamed of being.

In all her excitement, it took her a moment to realize that she wasn't alone out here. Two guys had already left the train before her, one who seemed a lot more confused by these turn of events than her and another...

"Oi, try it and you lose an arm!" Rin half-jokingly responded out of the blue to his suggestion, lightly punching his arm for emphasis. "A-ahem... So uh... So hey! Howdy! I'm Rin!" Her blonde hair, blue eyes and vaguely Scottish accent cast doubt on whether that was her actual name. "...And I think we probably should wake up that cute Japanese girl, really. Probably not a good idea to leave her on her own in a strange new world and all, and I know I can't be the only one psyched up about getting on the road and finally becoming a legendary hero of justice and... Um..."

Rin really couldn't shut up when she was excited, honestly.
Think I'll probably wait until the arc is over before trying to salvage my stuff, I guess.
  • Name: Rin
  • Age: Twenty-something. She refuses to be more specific.
  • Appearance: "Hey!" She's a bit on the tall side, too.
  • Personality: A quixotic daydreamer who, despite being rather lazy and unmotivated, is easily fired up by the cause of justice and honestly believes she is destined to become a hero of justice. Not at all coincidentally, she has a noted love for superheroes, tokusatsu and super robot and magical girl anime... To the point that, like the man who inspired the very term "quixotic", she may have lost herself a bit in the fantasy and views the world through a lens blurred by the conventions and philosophies of these forms of media; naturally, she has grown a bit frustrated with the world of her birth due to how little it actually follows these conventions. Putting on an air of hotblooded determination, she opposes the corrupt and champions the oppressed, and would describe herself as "noblebright" with a straight face. Admittedly, she's also a little bit of a pervert, and shows a noted interest in both cute boys and cute girls.
  • Abilities: A veritable font of esoteric and mostly useless knowledge and factoids, backed up by a few years of kung fu training and a love of cooking.
  • Native or Newcomer?: Newcomer
  • Cheat: Weight of the World - The ability to increase or decrease her bodyweight at will without any change in size. She can either make herself lighter and thus more agile, or heavier to allow her to hit harder.
  • History: A casual drifter on the sea of experience... Or to put it another way, a lazy nerd with no direction in life. With no real prospects or goals, Rin spent a good chunk of her life burying herself in fantasy literature, superhero comics, power metal, tokusatsu shows, super robot and magical girl anime... Escapist fantasies built upon mighty heroes fighting vile villains, something she slowly began to see as some kind of ideal to strive towards. And before she could realize it, like the fabled Don Quixote she had lost herself in this ideal, an ideal that didn't really fit the modern world she'd been born into. Oh, if only she could just leave this world and find one that suited her delusions far better...
  • Other: I'll admit she's a very loose self-insert, but there's a lot of differences and I figured that it would fit for something like this anyways so hopefully it comes off a bit less lame than I am worrying it does. ^^;
@PKMNB0YSo I guess it's okay for me and @VitaVitaAR to move our characters to the character tab, right? ^^;
@PKMNB0YI'll try my best. ^^; Still a little iffy about her power though but until I get a better idea for it I'll keep it as-is.

@VitaVitaARI would, but since we've discussed that my only idea for that is to basically make the maid into the Juggernaut I'm probably not the best candidate.
So um... Yeah. ^^; Not so sure about her Cheat so if it doesn't work then I'll try and figure out something else but yeah.

The question now is if his childhood friendship with @Rin's character will end up being much like most childhood friendships...

We should totally just have mine, yours and @Zardoric's character be involved in a love triangle of sorts, only the focus of the triangle doesn't actually have any romantic interest in either of the other two points. XD

...Or we could not go with a silly idea I came up with at 6:20am I guess. ^^;
I'll see what @Rin says, but my idea is basically summoning imps to do simple house chores so the R.A. gets off our backs about cleaning our rooms.

Oh right, um, I'm cool with this.

@ZardoricI'm fine with the two being on friendly terms, although I seem to be shying away from the idea of romance for this particular character so unless you want a one-sided thing going on there... XD
Sounds interesting so I guess we'll see how things turn out I guess.
@chukklehedSo nothing along the lines of, say, Superman or Hellboy or stuff like that when it comes to species/origin then? What about stuff like robot heroes who aren't part human due to being fully mechanical?

Also all of those power origin options seem to be innate, permanent powers, but what if I wanted to have a character that uses a magical device or some kind of super-science equipment for their powers? ^^; Like, say, a transforming hero or something.
