Current I mean, some people want to do it for the reason it’s supposed to be for, but it being all but outright mandatory, well.

@Ricky: I never thought about it like that, but it really can be, huh? I checked out the Mormons for a stint, and I can 100% see that being a reason behind them pushing that.

Tricks them into thinking it was their choice, when it was structured for them to fail.

The Amish doing that strikes me as a psychological way to keep people there. Isolate them > send them out > get culture shock > return to the comfortable rather than figure out a foreign culture.

Ashifa: Shoving/forcing the religion on someone isn't what Christianity should be about. I'm sorry if/that that's what's going on for you.

That's what coffee is for.

Color me interested. :-)

Edit: Sorry, forgot to tag you, @Fauxbot. Let me know if you are still interested and open to doing this plot!

No hurry. School comes first! At least, it should. XD And college is pretty darn crazy. I wish you luck with your reading! May you retain all you need to. :-)

Hope all is going well, people! :-)

I'm giving you a virtual high-five right now. XD It's pretty darn awesome that you're a "theater guy," too!
Right now I'm just dealing with college and mountains of homework...

Best of luck to you! I know the feeling. XD
@Saltwater Thief
Nice! :-) Do you have any favored genres?
@Saltwater Thief
Same, about the 6th. Been wanting to look into finding the missing two. Good luck with that with your library! Any idea how many books that is you have to move and whatnot?
<Snipped quote by Kirah>

It's officially called the Children of the Red King series, but I always called them the Charlie Bone books after the protagonist. Plot revolved around a really old school in England that catered to intelligent students or those with talent for the arts, but it also had a select bunch of students from particular family lines (all leading back to a legendary magician called the Red King) that all had unique abilities, like summoning thunderstorms, turning into birds, and talking to/traveling into photographs and paintings.

*Gasp!* I loved reading those! Actually, I started rereading them recently, but only got to the second before things got busy. The writing itself is definitely geared for a young audience, but I still love the plot and characters. Who says grown-ups can't read children's books? XD
