Superpowers are still relatively new to mankind. First discovered for over a century ago, it was news of a baby that gave off a luminescent glow right after it was born. Since then, strange abilities have been sprouting up across the world. Time passed without the cause being identified; scientists have struggled to find out the cause behind this, lamenting it to evolution, however there is no solid evidence to what brought about this new super gene.

Naturally, humans were scared. They were met with newfound powers, dangerous and abnormal. For much of the first few decades, supers received brutal discrimination and punishment. Many were forced into camps and prisons and some were stolen away for experimenting. But as the numbers increased and the supers became more knowledgeable of their own abilities, they banded together and rose against authoritative figures. As history shows, with time and persistence, compassion begins to grow. The supers collaborated with humans, working side by side to protect civilization and prove that supers aren't all power-hungry monsters. There are a handful of people that have made a stand for the rights of supers and influenced the world to follow in their ideals who led the people with their brilliant and passionate words, opening the door to a brighter future for both humans and supers. Before we knew it, the supernatural became natural, and dreams had become reality.

We now live in a superhuman society with majority of the world's population possessing some kind of special trait. In this world swirling with chaos, the profession that everyone once dreamed about and admired came into the limelight. That profession is...still not quite yours. You are not a professional hero, the symbols of hope and peace for the entire world. You are a student, not at one of the top academies in the entire country, but in a newly established institution that aims to cater to those who are deemed less fortunate in one way or another. Those who failed to pass the grueling entrance examinations of other institutions, lacked financial aid and resources, or individuals who were not blessed with amazing quirks, none of those hold any bearing. No matter your background or upbringing, you’ll always have a place here.

Our story takes place 50 years from the original series. Here you'll be playing as the pioneer batch of the newly established Kosei Academy. The school itself was founded by the hero, Arata Sako. Why would you enroll to such a young school? Well, aside from the high quality of education, top-class training they promise, and various scholarships, they only require a single thing from their applicants; a strong sense of heroism.

QUIRK CREATION

When coming up with a Quirk, I suggest to go for simplicity over innate versatility. Most of the Quirks in the series are relatively simple in both concept and application, so try and avoid creating one that comes with a whole set of rules. Most, if not all Quirks, are more of unique biological functions of the body and not some magical ability. I'm not saying that we need to come up with a scientific explanation for the Quirks, just pick something that fits with the setting we have. If you're hoping for something that has a less organic feel, here are some good examples.

A good example would be Bakugo's Explosion Quirk. Despite being as simple as it is, its an amazing ability because of how it is utilized. Kirishima's Hardening Quirk is as bland as it can get, but honestly, its just so practical. Even some of the flashier ones, such as Denki's Electrification, is relatively simple. The power it can produce is definitely significant, but he is only able to discharge electricity indiscriminately; no launching bolts of electricity or increasing his reflexes with electrical charges.

So when coming up with abilities, just keep it simple and we'll be okay.

MUST KNOWS

• Rules: I'm assuming that were all adults here, or at least are mature enough, to know what's acceptable when it comes to role-playing. Just respect the site's general rules, don't forget to communicate with each other if uncertainties arise, and avoid any form of toxicity.
• Expectations: In terms of writing, I'm hoping for posts that at least follow the basics of grammar and spelling. No strict word count is expected, we're going for quality over quantity, but no one liners. Avoid posts that stagnate the story and be proactive when needed.
• Applications: For now, no strict rule for character application. Just apply the same rules for writing and follow the format provided for the sheet. I'll get back to you as soon as I can with a review of your character along with any needed edits.
• Scheduling: No exact level of pacing will be indicated due to how erratic life can get. However, given the right crowd, the story can progress quite rapidly. KOSEI ACADEMY

THE ACADEMY

What makes Kosei different from other academies is the unique curriculum they provide their students with. Although questioned by many, general education has been omitted from the school's teaching syllabus. However, it remains optional for students to take up if they prefer to do so; staff and facilities for such learning would always be available.

Another decision made by the administration that has caused some controversy, is what the media referred to as the premature exposure of the students to actual field training and early internship with the agencies affiliated to the academy.

Focus is redirected towards the heroics course while supporting whatever talents the students excel in. Instead of creating well-rounded heroes and heroines, through the promotion of a competitive environment, Kosei aims to produce what could accurately be described as specialists.

The institute itself is located on an artificial island connected by a large bridge to Musutafa Port. Although heavily influenced by classical architecture, it has a great number of facilities that accommodates each and every students' needs, fostering the growth in their individual strengths. For now, only a total of a hundred students may attend the academy. Despite the strict limitations to how many students can attend the school, the academy encompasses majority of the island and appears more like a small village from a distance, instead of a massive institution.

RANKS

Kosei Academy works on a reward system that grants greater privileges and rights to those with higher rankings. You will see that those with higher rankings will have nicer dorms, less restrictions, and greater influence over school. Do note, however, that lower rankings will not leave you with less. You are guaranteed everything you need to succeed in your training no matter your ranking. Repercussions exists for those who continue to remain in the bottom rankings and show no strive for improving. The natural question here is how does one rise up in the rankings. There are two ways in which to accomplish this.

First there is the old fashioned way. Do well in your training and outperform them and you will see your rank gradually rise up. This is the safest way to do it but it will take a longer period of time regardless of your results.

The second involves a degree of risk. You can challenge anyone of your colleagues for their rank. These are formal challenges and must be officiated by a member of the faculty. The challenged has the right to choose the location, time, and rules of the match. If you succeed you will gain their rank while they will fall down to your previous ranking. If you lose then you are banned from further challenges for the remainder of the term. If you fail three challenges you are then expelled.

QUESTIONS

• Q: Can you only challenge students of a higher rank than you?
  A: You can challenge any student, but there isn't that much to gain when challenging those lower ranked than you. Rejecting challenges is also an option.
• Q: Are we ranked yet?
  A: Currently, everyone's unranked.
• Q: You get expelled when you lose three challenges, regardless of if you're the challenger or the challenged? Or is it if you lose three when you challenge you get expelled?
  A: I used the word fail and not lose. The three lose rule only applies to the challenger.
• Q: Does a member of faculty have to witness it?
  A: Yup. A faculty should be watching to make it an official challenge.
• Q: Are there universal rules to challenges? I.E., does it have to be a fight, or can it be any sort of task?
  A: No hard rules aside from no killing, I guess. But regarding the details of the match, I think I mentioned that it's up for the challenger to decide. One can skew the challenge to make the odds work for them, but if the handicap is too obvious, one could just reject an unfair challenge.
• Q: Can those challenges involve other people? For example, if challenged, could I choose a 2v2 volleyball match as the competition?
  A: Depending on the challenge, but the answer is yes. The only difference here is how you'd handle in dealing with the trading of ranks.

POINTS

In order to curb the influence of outside factors, you will find that money has no value here. All stores instead require points which you will accumulate during your stay here. Your student ID will act as your debit card while you study here and can be used to spend your points. How do you get points? Simple. You will be rewarded a weekly allowance of points based upon your ranking. You will also receive points from teachers for exceptional work. The quickest way to gain points, however, is to perform well in the various events hosted throughout the term as the winners here are awarded various rewards which often include copious amounts of points.

What do you use your points on? Your dorm room, school supplies, and daily meals come free. Points will be used for anything outside those areas. Anything you wish to acquire can be gotten. Whether you want to buy higher quality meals, furniture for you room, or better equipment, all can be gained through the use of points; requests can be made as well. Guard your IDs well for without them you will find yourself quite out of luck.

Sure thing, just to a look at him. Edited the coding to fit the format I put up and corrected a few typos. The quirk is good, but I removed the part regarding teleporting by memory. Maybe he can get access to that in the future.

Lastly, it would be great if you picked a text color for your character, just so no overlaps occur with the other characters. I'll make a list to avoid this.

Personality:

Kaito is a trickster who likes to pull pranks on unsuspecting people. Most of which are harmless, but he does not hold back against teachers. He can be really creative and unpredictable, which can be applied to his own quirk and achieve its full potential. He thinks highly of his quirk, often brags about it in a teasing manner. Ironically, he has never told his parents about his quirk. He is confident that no one would be able to catch him. Except by a teacher of course, thus in the end he earns a trip to detention.

Aside from the pranks, he is genuinely friendly to other students, but rather hostile and rebellious towards teachers or adults in general. He simply does not trust any one of them. He has a tendency of doing things on his own and acts selfishly when it came down to searching for his sister's whereabouts. Which leaves him prone to being manipulated if he is pressured into believing his goal is within his grasp.

When it comes down to fighting or any sport really, he can become rather competitive and aggressive the longer it drags on. His reflexes are insanely good, possibly the best trait he has to compliment his teleportation ability and his strength follows closely behind. Although, he can be easily outmatched by someone with a quirk which increases their defenses or an attack which would knock out a normal person, Kaito himself won't fall so easily because he is not normal.

Background:

Kaito has lived in Tokyo for about a year after he ran far away from home in search for his twin sister. They were separated at birth, after an unknown villain supposedly kidnapped her. He wasn't told about it by his parents until he was older, but always felt he had some kind of connection to his long lost sister. The day before he left his home, he saw a news report about mysterious kidnappings in Tokyo. The victims were newborn babies who were already born with their quirks. This got him into thinking that his sister was most likely targeted for that reason. Although Kaito is a twin, his sister was actually born with her quirk while his did not manifest until age four. With both of his parents quirkless and having his own quirk being kept a secret from them, Kaito selfishly decided he was going to take matters into his own hands.

When Kaito first arrived in the city a year ago, he was endlessly searching for his sister day in and day out. This went on for a couple of days before he realized that he couldn't really survive on his own. So he did small jobs for the locals and occasionally got his hands dirty until he got some connections which allowed him to attend school regularly under a new name. The short time he spent with criminals made him distrust adults and begun to hate himself for doing their kind of work. Although, he did receive useful information on the one is looking for.

In preparation for fighting his greatest enemy, he has been focused on developing his physical and combat skills throughout most of the year. Before he left home, he regularly attended mixed martial arts classes for the quirkless since he was young. With his own quirk being kept under wraps at the time, he managed to advance up to a level where quirks were allowed during spars. His physical condition was slightly above average, just enough to be at the lowest rank in the quirk level without relying on his own. Now that he is under a new identity, this gave him the opportunity to freely use his quirk during class, placing him within the top ten of his class at 6th place in such a short time.

The reason he chose Kosei Academy is to become strong enough to capture his target villain and find his sister. His MMA classes do not really focus on refining individual quirks, but on how to utilize them within the rules of the octagon. It is not enough for him to accept that, if he wants to go all out then attending Kosei Academy will do that. He does not really care about being a hero or anything like that, if Kosei Academy can help him achieve his goals then so be it. If not, then he is willing to turn somewhere else.

Quirk: Point to Point

A teleportation quirk which can be used on himself or anything else he touches, including people. However, the maximum weight he can teleport is 344lbs/156kg, which just so happens to be two times his own weight. If he tries to teleport anything beyond his weight limit then nothing will happen. Additionally, he needs to see the location where he wants to teleport. Teleporting through memory requires intense concentration to get the precise location. The maximum distance he can teleport is within a 25 meter radius.

Every time Kaito teleports, his stamina decreases. So, he can eventually pass out if he teleports beyond his limit. His stamina can affect the amount of time it takes to teleport, only if he is teleporting anything greater than his own weight (172lbs/78kg). The teleportation process is instantaneous, even if he is low on stamina, on the condition that if he is teleporting either himself or objects less than his own weight. Any object greater than his own weight will cause some delay which will gradually increase the closer he gets to his overall weight limit and will factor in the status of his current stamina.

You will see that those with higher rankings will have nicer dorms, less restrictions, and greater influence over school. Do note, however, that lower rankings will not leave you with less. You are guaranteed everything you need to succeed in your training no matter your ranking. Repercussions exists for those who continue to remain in the bottom rankings and show no strive for improving. The natural question here is how does one rise up in the rankings. There are two ways in which to accomplish this.

First there is the old fashioned way. Do well in your training and outperform them and you will see your rank gradually rise up. This is the safest way to do it but it will take a longer period of time regardless of your results.

The second involves a degree of risk. You can challenge anyone of your colleagues for their rank. These are formal challenges and must be officiated by a member of the faculty. The challenged has the right to choose the location, time, and rules of the match. If you succeed you will gain their rank while they will fall down to your previous ranking. If you lose then you are banned from further challenges for the remainder of the term. If you fail three challenges you are then expelled.

QUESTIONS

• Q: Can you only challenge students of a higher rank than you?
  A: You can challenge any student, but there isn't that much to gain when challenging those lower ranked than you. Rejecting challenges is also an option.
• Q: Are we ranked yet?
  A: Currently, everyone's unranked.
• Q: You get expelled when you lose three challenges, regardless of if you're the challenger or the challenged? Or is it if you lose three when you challenge you get expelled?
  A: I used the word fail and not lose. The three lose rule only applies to the challenger.
• Q: Does a member of faculty have to witness it?
  A: Yup. A faculty should be watching to make it an official challenge.
• Q: Are there universal rules to challenges? I.E., does it have to be a fight, or can it be any sort of task?
  A: No hard rules aside from no killing, I guess. But regarding the details of the match, I think I mentioned that it's up for the challenger to decide. One can skew the challenge to make the odds work for them, but if the handicap is too obvious, one could just reject an unfair challenge.
• Q: Can those challenges involve other people? For example, if challenged, could I choose a 2v2 volleyball match as the competition?
  A: Depending on the challenge, but the answer is yes. The only difference here is how you'd handle in dealing with the trading of ranks.

POINTS

In order to curb the influence of outside factors, you will find that money has no value here. All stores instead require points which you will accumulate during your stay here. Your student ID will act as your debit card while you study here and can be used to spend your points. How do you get points? Simple. You will be rewarded a weekly allowance of points based upon your ranking. You will also receive points from teachers for exceptional work. The quickest way to gain points, however, is to perform well in the various events hosted throughout the term as the winners here are awarded various rewards which often include copious amounts of points.

What do you use your points on? Your dorm room, school supplies, and daily meals come free. Points will be used for anything outside those areas. Anything you wish to acquire can be gotten. Whether you want to buy higher quality meals, furniture for you room, or better equipment, all can be gained through the use of points; requests can be made as well. Guard your IDs well for without them you will find yourself quite out of luck.

Personality: Somewhat cold-blooded to the random strangers he's being forced to meet. Though underneath, he actually has an older brother feeling to those close to him.

Background: Trust. Ryu never had so much at his young age...his father, supposedly one who's Quirk can tell the future, was going through a time of insanity when Ryu was 5 years old. His mother, his younger brother, and himself always were taking the blunt of his insanity, which resulted in them being hit...by a baseball bat. One more year of beatings led to the father's tipping point, resulting in his mother trying to save the two brothers. However, she was only able to get Ryu into the main bedroom...which led to her and the youngest son's deaths. Ryu tried his best to break out, screaming as he heard the screams of his two family members get beat to death. Finally, his Incorporeal Quirk makes an appearance as he phases through the wall and manages to take the metal bat from his insane father...making the killer becoming one of the killed. No child expected on his 6th Birthday to have his mother and brother killed...by his father and being the one to kill his own father.

Ryu spent the next ten years running the backstreets of the poor and unfortunate. He managed to defeat almost every single gang and collaborated them into a tightly knit group called the Wild Dragons. Not only that, he managed to make them throw away their feuds between each other and was proud enough to call this gang his "second family." Though they occasionally broke the law and weren't the best role-models for society, this gang worked its hardest to keep poor and unfortunate families from turmoil...however when Ryu was 16, he made a bad call. This bad call put the entire group into jail, and he could fix it. " Attend four years at Kosei Academy and you're group shall be freed." Ryu now takes his spot into "serving his sentence" in order to get his family back once again.

Quirk: Corporeal Form (Transformer Quirk) - Ryu can temporary make himself corporeal and whatever he has on him into a non-solid form for a certain amount of time, though he is still very much visible. However, this draws from his physical condition and constantly ends up with him exhausted if pushed to his limits. (Limit - can go through things, such as standard walls, for about 15 tries. This goes to one try if he has to bring two other people with him. Also, he can only keep this form up for about 6 seconds before he has to go back to normal.)
