Himeko gave a warm smile to Chise as she retrieved her questions. This girl was clearly the sensible one of the duo, though she wondered how these two came to be interested in shrine maidens. She didn't recall shrine visits being a mandatory school subject, and not many girls seemed too interested in being a miko, did they? Ah well, these two seemed young enough to perhaps romanticise the inherent mysticism of her position? If that was the case, Himeko had a duty to keep that belief alive!

"Hmm..." Himeko tilted her head slightly, deep in thought as she kept a firm hold of Hanako's hand, "well, I suppose it's been pretty... normal? Just like normal girls, I eat, sleep, speak with the gods, exorcise wicked spirits at night, and just between us, but sometimes I sneak some chocolate into my diet~"

The shrine maiden spoke with a straight face, enjoying herself. Chise had turned her gaze towards the sweet shop for a moment, and it would be cruel to prevent all these girls from having something to eat if this was going to continue, so the shrine maiden added, "speaking of chocolate, how about I treat you all? Hanako-chan here was crying for some earlier, I wouldn't want to keep her waiting any longer..."

Kishinami Hakuno

Hakuno was silent as Kiara spoke of her relation to Mary. Indeed, she didn't want to pry into private matters, especially when it probably wasn't too relevant to the situation at hand. In turn, the young enforcer didn't want to give out too many details for an incident in progress, but she didn't want to stonewall the kind young nun either. She deserved to at least be aware of their progress, right?

"...It looks like it is," Hakuno affirmed quietly, "Saber is already on her way to apprehend them. Then we can find out why she and her friend tried to... um."
Was that giving away too much? Aahhh, situations like this were too rare, it was hard to gauge how much was supposed to be confidential! Well, it wasn't a press statement or anything, so there wasn't an issue, right?! Still, Hakuno had fallen silent, and she stammered a forced continuation to try and smooth over the slip-up.

"A-anyway, she's probably draggin' the perp to the slammer right now!"

Yep, that should do it. Good job, me. She could feel her cheeks colour slightly at the strange statement. Her credibility as an enforcer was going to plummet at this rate!

With Hanako's hand firmly clasped in her own, the (real) shrine maiden cheerfully led her towards a lovely little shop that sold some high-quality treats. The poor girl was probably reeling with embarrassment, but that was fine. It enhanced Hanako's already-considerable cuteness to truly divine heights! They drew some attention as they walked, with Himeko saying a few words of greeting to more recognisable faces, moving on before they could enquire too far about why Himeko was travelling with a small girl dressed like a shrine maiden as well.

Her attention was drawn by a loud, young voice nearby, and couldn't help but snicker at the exchange. Two young girls, not long finished with school from the looks of them, seemed to be having some sort of discussion about their diet. She was surprised when both those girls saw Hanako and herself and approached, evidently recognising her small companion.

"...Friends from class?" the maiden teasingly asked Hanako with a smirk, then leaned down slightly to speak with the two girls, "...school project, huh? I take it you want to ask me a few questions, then?"
She doubted a few questions would take too much time. Worst-case scenario, they could walk back to the shrine together. Not that Himeko minded sticking around to help the girls with whatever they needed her for, but the longer they stayed out in public, the more likely it seemed Hanako would implode from embarrassment. Himeko had made careful and precise calculations about the exposure her new roommate could endure, after all!

Kishinami Hakuno

"...Hijikata Toshizo..." Hakuno murmured the word, trying to recall all she could about that name. He was... right, part of the Shinsengumi. He was no doubt a powerful warrior in that case, especially if he was summoned as a Berserker. She silently watched as Saber reassured the injured girl and discussed their next strategy. Hakuno nodded in approval. She was worried about her Servant's safety, but the young brunette also trusted in the small girl's skills. You didn't get to become a Saber-class Servant with sub-par abilities, right?

Once Benienma had taken flight from the window, Hakuno bowed to Mary, "please be at ease. We'll have Hijkata-san arrested and dealt with promptly. I'll let you rest now."
As she turned to leave, however, an unexpected figure entered the room. Hakuno certainly hadn't expected to run into this woman again. Sesshoin Kiara she named herself as, right? After a moment of surprise, Hakuno nodded.

"S-Sesshoin-san. Thank you again for your help," she glanced over her shoulder to Mary, "I believe she needs to rest right now, so I had finished my business here... ah, you know her, Sesshoin-san?"
It seemed unlikely they were related, and Hakuno couldn't think of a reason why a nun would be called to Mary's bedside. Not that it was her place to pry, but it seemed a strange thing to happen for the young officer.

Wow, this was too precious. No matter how silly Himeko made her claims, Hanako was eating it up. Putting her adorable size aside, surely a girl her age should be less naive? If gods really did exist, they definitely had better things to do than smite a cute girl for sweeping the grounds of the shrine slightly wrong. Maybe she was the type to believe in magic, too? Now that would be amusing.

But alas, too much teasing may just turn this girl into some sort of recluse, and she already seemed to have trouble being super sociable as-is. Plus, it would be cruel to confine the poor girl to the shrine all day. Might as well let her take a break.
"Relax, I'll lend you some money. We can buy some snacks together!" Himeko offered, setting the broom against the pavilion, "I'll even beg them to take it easy on you, since you're new. And cute."

And since Himeko had no intention of letting her change out of the maiden outfit, it would be easy to claim Hanako was staying off school for Important Shrine Reasons! She took the smaller girl's hand in her own, cheerily marching her down the steps towards town. It was hard to bother worrying about the Hex Night when she was so occupied with teasing Hanako.
Kishinami Hakuno

Silently, Hakuno listened to the short explanation Mary provided. It sounded like this Servant she had summoned with her friend had just... attacked as soon as they were summoned? That was definitely worrying. It pained her to trouble Mary with this, but she had a lot of questions that needed answering.

"Then, if you could... I'll need to know who it was you summoned, and what class? And..."

Actually, if she had a friend with her, where were they? A worried frown was on the girl's face as she continued, "And... your friend, where are they? Who are they?"

She could only hope that a lack of a second body bode well for this friend, but the whole situation was just too strange to take much solace in any detail. At the very least, once they had an idea of who to look for, Hakuno could trust Saber to quickly initiate the search for either Servant or friend.

@PKMNB0Y@VitaVitaAR
I was considering having Himeko drag Hanako into town with her, so I guess you could have something happen there for them, or at the shrine?
Kishinami Hakuno

"...Okay. Let's get the visit over with, and we can let her rest," Hakuno nodded to the small Servant. Having to relive being attacked by a Servant would not be a pleasant experience, Hakuno figured, but it had to be done. She spent most of the journey silently contemplating how best to approach the poor girl. No doubt the victim would be more reassured by a mature, possibly grizzled type of detective, and not a walking piece of cardboard and her frankly adorable sidekick?

Soon enough, they had reached the hospital that Mary had been taken to. Putting on her best 'official' face, Hakuno entered and spoke with a receptionist, confirming her identity and reason for visiting. In short order, she was taken to the room Mary was currently residing in. After an inhale to try and calm her nerves, she knocked on the door and slid it open, entering.

"...Saikawa Mary," Hakuno tried to keep the nervous quiver out of her voice as she addressed the injured girl, roughly around her own age, "I'm sorry to bother you. I'm Kishinami Hakuno of the Counter-Crime Force," she indicated the small Servant at her side, "And this is my partner, Saber."

Hakuno approached the bed, glancing at Mary's injury. Obviously, it had been treated already, and looked nowhere near as bad as it probably did a shor time ago. Still, to be attacked like that in Fusang...
"If you're able, I'd like to hear about what happened at the time of the incident," Hakuno spoke again, "with... as much detail as you can manage. If we know who we're looking for, we'll catch the culprit in no time."
