Pulled from his thoughts by the arrival of the half-orc, the former old man realised quickly that not everyone was going to be so welcoming as Marbess. But that would be no bother. With a few quick observations and a little half-remembered experience, he knew how best to get by this bouncer. "Excuse me. Pardon me. Sorry. Coming through. On your left." He said as he made his way between the others before coming to a stop ten feet away from the half-orc, greeting him with a friendly smile. "That's a fine blade you have there." The former old man complimented the half-orc's scimitar "I can tell you put a lot of effort into maintenance. And I'm sure that dedication has earned you a faithful companion in your travels." The man drew five feet nearer to the half-orc as he continued speaking. "And I must also say that those are some stylish clothes you are wearing. I certainly wouldn't have minded waking up in an outfit like yours."
The former old man rolls a 23 to befriend the half-orc.
@Guardian Angel Haruki Would a 20 also be high enough to sus out any of the half-orcs characteristics? His personality traits, ideals, bonds, flaws? Anything that could be touched on to make the guy more agreeable if not outright friendly to us?
Fellwing's shriek visibly startled Skobeloff as the rawscale Trickster quickly turned to look at his clutchmate. As the shrieking stopped and the stammering started, Skobeloff realized what had happened. Fellwing had just peered into the Darkness. And if the uncharacteristically fearful display she showed was anything to go by, the Darkness had peered back a little more than was good for her health. That was something best nipped in the bud. "It's alright, Fellwing. Take a moment. Breathe" Skobeloff said as he approached Fellwing, his voice soft and his smile soothing. "You're alright. Just relax. Everything is fine." Skobeloff continued to croon comforting platitudes until Fellwing appeared to have calmed down a bit and the initial burst of fear had passed. Then he moved to quash the mote of Shadow that had settled within his friend. "You remember that thought exercise I taught you, yes?" Skobeloff asked. "Do you think you could do that for me right now?"
Skobeloff rolls a 10 to convince Fellwing to make the Look To Other Clutches' Example move. Fellwing marks experience if she does so or Shadow if she does not.
"Yeah, a pub without beer ain't the best thing in the world." Brutrumukk said to Jub with a nod of agreement, not understanding what his shoulder goblin's gestures meant. "But look on the bright side. They still got food. An' it sure does smell tasty, don't it? Yeah, a pub without beer ain't the best thing in the world, but it ain't the worst thing either."
