Backstory: (Note: I had a much more detailed backstory for Miss Light almost done, but then I lost it in a computer crash. I may type up the more detailed version again once the wave of crushing despair born from its loss has passed. Until then though, I'm just gonna sum it up in bullet points.)

• Miss Light was initially called Marian Lovelace.

• Every member of Marian's family aside from her mother hated Marian because Marian was born out of wedlock and since the Lovelace family are favored servants of the Ruling Family, scandal like that is not a thing they enjoy.

• Life generally sucked for Marian until she found Arkerym, a Hexblade longsword and loyal servant of the Raven Queen.

• Arkerym revealed to Marian that her father was in fact Mister Light, who fell in love with Marian's mother the last time the Witchlight Carnival was in Valerith before fun was banned.

• Arkerym then offered Marian a deal: Arkerym helps Marian escape her mean relatives, find her father, and rescue her mother from the aforementioned mean relatives. In return, Marian becomes Arkerym's warlock and serves the Raven Queen.

• Marian took the deal, gained warlock powers, gained clown powers, escaped, changed her name to Miss Light, and at some point met Birdboy's character, resulting in them becoming partners in clown crime.

• Game begins some time after that.

Only somewhat? Because if cleric isn't a class you enjoy, I've got plenty of other suggestions. Such as...

Maverick Specialty clown artificer.
Path of Wild Magic clown barbarian.
Genie Order of the Profane Soul clown blood hunter.
Way of the Drunken Master clown monk.
Oath of Redemption clown paladin.
Wild Card Archetype clown rogue.
Wild Magic Origin clown sorcerer.
School of Enchantment clown wizard.

These are but a small sample of the many possible clowns (otherwise known as PCs) that you could create. Feel free to use any of these suggestions. Or forgo them entire and craft a clown of your own design. Any clown is possible in D&D!

The Huntsman

Azul Ashengrotto's initial comment about receiving royal customers confused the Huntsman. Ariel's revelation that she was the royal customer and a daughter of Triton left the Huntsman stunned. In the past, the Huntsman had read books of old myths to Snow White. Some of these myths concerned the merfolk, a race of ocean dwellers with the upper forms of humans and the lower forms of fish. If Ariel was one of them, then the Huntsman had found the hero from the depths mentioned in the Magic Mirror's rhymes. But that wasn't what loomed large in the Huntsman's mind. Instead, it was the realization that Ariel was royalty, and that all this time the way he'd been acting towards her had been completely unbefitting of someone of her status. This realization shocked him into complete silence as the scene continued around him.

Do you think she would even join the 'giggle gang'?

While I do think she would have made guest appearances at Giggle Gang shows as often as she could, I don't think Miss Light would have been able to commit to official membership due to her warlock duties keeping her busy. After Widry sent the Giggle Gang away though, I imagine Miss Light would have found a way to clear her schedule and become a full time companion to Widry in the interest of assisting her efforts to rescue the imprisoned Giggle Gang member.

I'm glad you like it. I wasn't too sure about the idea when I originally came up with it, and I was still a tiny bit unsure when I made the post. But your approval has reassured me. Thanks for that.

If you're still having trouble I think I know something that you could post about that would also earn you inspiration.

If I recall correctly, Flicker enjoys cooking, yes? Well with the grocer and the general merchant both within reach, this is a golden opportunity to purchase some ingredients.
