@Sanguine Rose

The remainder of the trek to the forest proved to be a quiet and uneventful one. An unexpected surprise to Tristan who was expecting Faye to fling back his challenge with her own. Besides the harsh insults she directed at him, his mood proved quite high. The reason for said mood? The prospect of traversing some so called taboo and dangerous forest where they might put an end to such rumors and talks and by, they, of course he meant himself mostly.

A chance to conquer some supernatural forest as a beginner trainer would do wonders for his image and reputation and to have a witness (and one who could assist him on top of it) only made such a venture all the more enticing. A good chance to prove to this frumpy dressed girl that he was not just some nobody asshole. On Tristan went, strolling with a confident stride with King fluffing his chest with pride trying to match his trainer, whereas Princess lacked their energy; opting instead to sigh with her face covered in her paws due to her trainer's any lack of tact.

Then they arrived and upon stopping a step before the entrance did all Tristan's confidence melt upon laying his eyes on the ominously mist enshrouded opening leading into some dark wooden unknown. Yet, it was that sense of spine tingling sensation of being watched that left the teen turning almost ghostly pale.

His eyes widen in uncertain fright as he gazed into the opening, where he could not help but shake off the feeling that he was peering into the maw of terrifying beast lurking somewhere within.

Within seconds beads of sweat glistened his forehead as his body gave off a rather strong vibe of fear, of which Princess could not possibly miss or ignore." Riou Lu lurio?" The bipedal canine murred out with concern followed by some encouraging caws from King.

Ace, however, who had been hiding before had now crawled its way under Tristan's shirt collar.

Were it any other time, Tristan might have chastised the scared bird for stretching his shirt's collar, but was too busy staring at the entrance blank-faced.* Oh god..fuck this place!* He screamed internally; if not for Faye looming just off behind him, the terrified teen would only be running like his life depended on it.

At this moment he wanted nothing more than to turn around and flee, though having issued such a challenge made doing so impossible. Not if he wants to save face.* This was a mistake...this was a big mistake! Bloody hell!* After a mental stringent of cursing did he stop to take a deep breath to try and settle down enough to figure out his next plan of action, all while struggling to keep his body from visibly shaking.

* Shit..shit ok, think! I can figure out a way to get through this and with luck I can get out alive without being seen as a coward.* Having shifted to a thinking pose to give the impression he was observing while mentally was on the precipice of a panic attack. Tristan had once again found himself in such an unfavorable position, in thanks to letting his heated emotions and wounded pride get the better of him.

His fingers gently drummed against his chin; an action done purely to keep his anxiety from spiraling out of control.* Ok, yeah. There is no way I'm gonna be able to do this..at least not on my own. And my team...as awesome as they are simply lacking the power to ensure their or my safety*

This was really bad, for now he was left with only two options. To turn tail and prove himself the spineless coward to Faye or go into the woods and likely die.* Come on...think, man! You can't let some downtrodden girl see you as such a pathetic louse, but...god forbid I ask for her help!* He covered his eyes with his left hand where he shifted to hide a frustrated groan and brief sobbing whimper.

A sharp intake through his nose.* Wait! Perhaps there is something I can do. A way to get um..shit what was it again? Froyo?! No, that can't be right but there is a way to get her to join and take the lead without having to directly ask for help.* Nodding his head with a small pleased smile; an idea having come to mind.

A few seconds later, Tristan would clasp his hands together then rub them together while clearing his throat." Right! Well, now that we have taken a firsthand look at this forest I have come to a realization." Turning around to face Faye as he spoke.

" As we can both recall the challenge I had issued you a short while ago. After some thought and seeing how the entrance reveals a far more dangerous feel than previously thought which one can excuse my foolish haste having not been to these woods before." His voice maintained a steady calm tone though with small cracks in his voice here and there. Clearing his throat once more before carrying on." As such, I have been woefully unfair to you Fr- miss!" He quickly moved to interject himself." Yes..seeing as how we lack any further knowledge or map which assuredly leads to getting lost. I think it prudent for us to set aside the challenge...at least for the time being and aid each other. For neither of us could possibly hope to venture in alone with how inexperienced as each of us are, so I propose a temporary...alliance. And when comes time that whatever discovery is found and depending on the situation, we can settle it through a friendly battle though I might add doing a bit of scoping and training around here might do us wonders first. Some brief training and rest then we can...venture inside. Surely this sounds beneficial for both parties that could possibly lead to both of us getting some rare pokemon and or discovered treasure."

He finished his offer proposal with a nervous chuckle which he tried to play off as a cough." What do you say, Miss?" The corner of his mouth twitched as he waited anxiously and nervously for Faye's answer.

Tristan forced himself to maintain a calm composure as he waited for Faye to give a proper explanation regarding the seemingly mythical forest. What he was told proved unexpected that left the rich teen confused and insulted at the same time." Awful? I do not take such referral so kindly and rude? Is it my fault if others can't take simple criticism." Waving his hand dismissively with a scoff.

He said while keeping up that typical smug and confident face but continuing to do so proved more difficult the more Faye carried on with talks of abduction and disappearance.

Then the frumpily dressed girl dared to insinuate that he was afraid followed with suggestion to make for this Florasong instead. The mere notion of being indirectly called a coward made his face go red whether out of embarrassment or possibly about spout his distaste if not for the soothing pat against his cheek from Princess's small paw proved enough to keep from losing his cool.

" You are a cruel one to call me a coward after withholding such unsettling and important information." He nearly spat with a hiss." And besides, these outlandish rumors sound like typical bull told to keep travelers from nosing around too much. I bet this whole disappearance thing is nothing more than a hoax propagated from overreaction of some small pokemon encountered within those woods." Tristan explained in an attempt to rationalize this so-called supernatural event with reason, but the uncertainty and slight hesitation in his tone betrayed the brave face he kept up.

It sounded like a nonsensical story told around a campfire, but what if it wasn't? What if there really was some dangerous forest guardian that snatches up awful people. Such thoughts sent a shiver down Tristan's back as nervous sweat glistened his forehead as he fretted over the possibility of being abducted.

Yet, on the other hand, a chance to possibly encounter some rare fairy or other types of pokemon that are likely to not be found anywhere else proved to be very alluring. Not to mention a chance to find some interesting finding that could aid in getting his name known, especially after having to give up his promotional chance with the ranch case he solved.

The rich teen was clearly mulling it over as he turned his attention back to Faye, his eyes glowering as he recalled what she said.* She's so determined to get rid of me. I bet she wants to get the discoveries and fame all for herself.* He thought while glaring at the girl though not for long as even looking at her horribly mismatch taste and cheap clothes was painful to the eyes.

" Tch, don't think I don't see what you're doing. Truly a nasty girl you are." Giving a flick of his head with a scoff which forced King to flap above his head briefly from the sudden action before settling back down on his trainer's head. After doing so, the nervousness once evident was gone as Tristan stepped closer where he poked Faye on the shoulder twice issuing a challenge." Your little tricks won't work on me. Whatever await within those woods I... *we* intend to get our hands on it." Correcting himself to include his pokemon as well, King flapping his wings with a determined caw to back up his trainer while Princess gave a half-hearted paw pump with a sigh, Ace all the while kept himself hidden against his neck.

" That being the case. As much as it pains me to say this... for the time being we are willing to... cooperate with you. At least until we've left the woods with whatever gains. And there best not be any complaints on who gets any discoveries first." He finished his declaration with one last poke to Faye's shoulder with a smirk across his face glowing from face cream. Pulling his hand back, ready to continue on though not before wiping his finger off against his pant leg. Giving a harrumph at Faye before brushing past her, clearly determined to beat her to the discoveries lurking within the forest.

The fox found the excessive speed of events rather intriguing as he took to settling as a silent observer. A seemingly good decision with how the group were rushed out and within the blink of an eye had wound up at some tavern where a few members attempted to get a group drinking going.

An attempt to get to know each other and befriend each other. A most amusing effort with all the tension and ego stagnating the air around them. He, himself was no better in this regard, but unlike the rest who were rife with distrust and uncertainty, this kitsune was content with how things were going so far. Izu was also hardly the only one to notice this strange gathering as it was not often to get such a varied cast of characters *working* together if one could call it that.

For the time being he had chosen to remain standing (the chairs looking horribly uncomfortable and a minefield of splinters waiting to happen) on top of the fact of his haori's baggy nature proving cumbersome to sit in such a small space.

As such, the masked kitsune kept quiet, lurking nearly out of view to remind the group of his presence, but easy to be forgotten. That is, until one of the two ladies, the quieter one he might add began speaking about possible strategies transitioning to proper introductions.

Even if his posture seemed relaxed and carefree akin to one hardly paying attention to events happening around them, his fox-like ears remained perked all the while. Very much listening to the group's chatter before being pressed to go first.

A curious tilt of the head as his right hand slipped from of the sleeve to point a clawed finger at himself then lifted said finger to gently scratch at the mask in a pondering motion. A few soft wooden scrapes soon followed by a muffled titter.

" Who I am is what you see. A hunter and beast both but neither though I suppose it is a name that is desired, yes?" He spoke and though muffled could be heard well enough even with the breathily soft tone of his voice." Yes, a name. I suppose I could say Tails or fluffy but too cutesy or on the nose." Tilting his head with the tip of his right finger's claw gently pressed against his temple." Maybe feeling like a Gary? No no...Ichibald then?" A small shake of the head before standing up-right once more." I think simply fox shall do at least for now. And for what I bring to this group as the lovely miss has requested of us..."

Trailing off while going quiet and still. After a brief pause going on a tad too long for anyone's comfort had he pulled up his smoke pipe and took a big draw. Without warning he let loose a billowed puff of mellow pink color that enveloped the group.

A muffled snicker left his covered lips; eager to see their reactions to such an unexpected action. Might they think it an attack? Poison or paralysis. Those that didn't react right away would notice the sweet scent of strawberries and a mellow soothing sensation, otherwise it seemed harmless." And that is what I do. My aid is given freely, but times it will not be wanted." Was the last thing said by the kitsune before returning to his relaxed posture, paying little mind to any threat possibly directed at him for his little... demonstration.

Tristan was well past the whole egg thing. He wanted to get going; albeit the thought of trekking through some thick forest filled him with some strong sense of discomfort. Then he took notice of their discussion being over and while most of it went unnoticed, the last words the old man said caught his attention.

A look of concern took hold of his previously bored expression." Wait, what was that? Something about being lost?" He asked the passing Faye with a raised brow followed by a quizzical caw from King. Ignored as expected in her passing by him leaving the spoiled teen confused and uncertain.

After some contemplating and delay in his thought process, Tristan quickly moved into a quick spurt to follow after Faye, nearly tripping and stumbling in his attempt to catch up to her." Hold it! I know you heard what that geezer said. No one told us about this whole..disappearance thing." Talking as he followed a short distance behind, worry and fear creeping into his tone as he spoke with a shiver going down his spine. A reaction was also expected for any to have and yet the poorly dressed teen girl went on unfazed." I'm starting to think you knew about this. And what? Failed to clue me on something that is..oh I don't know..life endangering?!" He accused with a mixed growl of annoyance and indignation.

@Sanguine Rose

Tristan was hardly paying attention; being lost in his social world where pictures of his freshly cleaned face and hair. Along with detailing his journey as a trainer so far, albeit omitting the incidents that had him looking uncool and unfavorably while having to hope no videos of his horrendous lost ending up spread around the internet. His fans alone witnessing it was bad enough, but god forbid if his brothers were to see it. They would surely never let him live it down.

In order to lessen any damage, he was working to cover up his misdeeds by showing off his team of rare mons, Ace the popular stand out. Attention King felt he deserved being an actual shiny Murkrow while the torchic wanted none of it and refused to pull his face from Tristan's neck. All while Princess was exasperated at her trainer's stubborn showboating though did some cute poses wanting to make him happy.

All of this going on kept him distracted with Faye's thing since he had little interest on whatever she was doing. He had no reason to care about a stranger who was also a rival.

He did catch that the pokemon in the egg was called Larvesta. An interesting name but one he had no recollection of having him wonder if it was a good or rare mon? And he couldn't help but wonder how a trainer fresh out of the lab get her hands on an egg? One could hardly blame the old man for insinuating she stole it as it was hard to believe a person would give a newbie trainer such an item.

Keeping his focus on his phone became difficult as the name Basil got mentioned yet again and his mind formed an image of the timid and meek Basil he knew.* .... Yeah, no. No way its that same wimpy loser.* He scoffed with an airy huff of his nose.

Then there were other thoughts starting to buzz into his head, things from yesterday that he felt wasn't the time to be thinking about. Otherwise the entire day would be spent doing little else when he wanted to get some progression as it could wait till later tonight... assuming the day doesn't prove exhausting like previously.

" Alright, I think we got it now. You got a Larvesta egg from This Bendril or whatever, yippee." Giving a mock whoopi-doo with a twirl of his fingers." If you're quite finished, we have a forest need traveling and I prefer to be in and out before nightfall so, mind wrapping this up? Please and thank you." He asked with a forced smile and a press of his thumb against the pokedex sending the last photo of a trembling Ace being forcefully pried away from Tristan's neck.
D'angelo Schultz

@cello @twave

D'angelo was just lost to the music now and letting the groove take him away, his chubby body moving with a rhythm surprising for a man of his size. Granted it wasn't exactly the smoothest or well good rhythm, not that the man cared as all that mattered was having fun and enjoying himself.

All while Nimbus simply floated in place and if one were to look closely could swear they might see an annoyed expression on the golden cloud's face. If it wasn't obvious, Nimbus almost felt embarrassed for his creator, but it was well used to such and left it be.

Simply minding its floating business when a pair of hands started to try and touch its golden body. And normally a person's hands would simply go through any cloud, unable to touch them besides a sense of wetness yet Nimbus was a special cloud that has long since attained the capability to maintain its semi-solid form without need of D'angelo doing anything. As such, the boy and not long after the woman touching Nimbus would find the golden fluff to have the soft texture of cotton candy and the squishiness of a sponge filled with water slightly warm to the touch. A few pokes and prods had Nimbus quivering almost as if being tickled.

A touch to the shoulder snapped D'angelo out of his dancing trance; enough so that he could turn to look towards the person who did so, albeit still bouncing on his feet. In turning he saw two individuals inspecting and checking Nimbus out which bring a wide smile to his pudgy face that seemingly only ever had a smile as its only mode." Hey hey! Look at you Nimbus, getting all the attention!" He exclaimed in an excited manner then hopped around until he besides the cloud where he would rest his left elbow against to start leaning against Nimbus who continued to float in place, clearly unbothered by its maker's size.

" A fine how do you do and hello! Name's D'angelo Schultz and my loveable golden pal who I'm sure both of you have already met is Nimbus!" Prodding Nimbus gently twice with his elbow as if to get the cloud to respond to the introduction only to simply quiver once more." Ah..yeah. Never was much of a talker." Leaning close to the two and lifting his right hand to hide his mouth where he whispered." I think it's just cause he's... notoriously shy, but the fluffball will say otherwise if you ask him." Motioning with his right pointer finger after whispering such.

A grumbling quiver could be felt followed by the cloud pulling away enough to have D'angelo's leaning upper body fall out beneath him. Nearly falling if not for some last second flailing and scrambling with his arms though left him mid-way between falling and holding his large body up." Hey! Bah! Ignore that grump ball and..where we were we? " Pondering with his body still partway horizontal with a thinking posing." Right! My name is..wait already did that so I guess I should ask what your names are?" Asked with a wide laughing grin, his left arm under his head like a makeshift pillow.
Izushima Ashari

The fox thought himself going unnoticed and yet the queen unexpectedly noticed his presence. Impressed and curios of how and when exactly had she sensed him. Since before even entering the castle or upon entering the throne room? Questions went through his mind one after the other; some concerning the job detailed to them. The explanation was simple enough, but also made this whole gathering even more peculiar. There were much to think about regarding the queen's words and the job though one thing was for certain, this mission would prove even more entertaining.

It nearly had the fox visibly giddy with excitement as he took the piece of paper showcasing the number one. His ears soon pricked to an obnoxious voice calling out for other number ones to gather around said person. He glanced over at the man speaking, Nikolai before giving a roll of his eyes under the mask. Hardly surprising meatheads like monster hunters would use what little braincells they had to question any of this and just accepting it all at face value. He could bring it up by asking the queen some questions, but why spoil whatever surprise was in store for them.

With a wispy inward chuckle, Izushima strode over to stand at the back behind the group, the billowing of his pant sleeves giving the appearance he was gliding across the floor as he went. Once settled his hands slipped into the other arm's sleeves as the masked fox quietly observed for the time being, a hidden smirk etched beneath.
Kazumin Nagasa

Time: 12:00 pm
Location: Park
Interactions: N/A
Mentions: @princess Calbert

Unlike the previous carriage ride this one had been quiet and uneventful to Asteroth’s relief. Whether it had to do with Kazumin not wishing to push his luck and worsen his already dour situation or the more likely reason that he was just tired and the exhaustion finally caught up to him.

Evident with the way he sat there with his head tilted back trying to get what sleep he could. Physically he seemed fine thanks to the nice clothes and make-up, but beneath the surface his body was still sore and ached with hunger and exhaustion. Precisely while the Baron sought to bring preparation.

A sharp kick to his foot to jostle the slumbering blonde who woke with a start.” Hm..wuh? Are we there yet?” Mumbling the question with a vain attempt to rub the sleep from his eyes.

A brief shake of the head was Asteroth’s first response. “Not quite. We shall be arriving shortly and I intend to remind you to be on your absolute behavior.” He stated the reminder coolly before reaching beneath his shirt where he procured and tossed the small bag he pocketed earlier onto Kazumin’s lap. “Take a small dose of that before we arrive.

Kazu blinked in confusion and uncertainty as he casually picked up the bag and held it up to see the contents to be what looked to be white powder. “ What’s this? Some slow acting poison or something? This your way of murrrdering me with witness?” He joked elongating the word murder in a tired voice.

A sharp inhale followed with a slow exhaling sigh. “No, you simpleton. Just take a small hit. Do it now.” A waving motion of his hand for him to get on with it. “Worry not, simply medicine to help keep you awake, at least for the duration of this brunch.” Saying nothing more on the matter nor elaborating on what exactly the powder was.

The drowsy blonde peered at him accusingly for a moment then gave an indifferent shrug of the shoulders. “Fine, whatever gets me through this bore of an evening. And if the count chose to be stingy on the food I will complain, you can be sure of that.” And he meant it considering this to be his last chance at an actual good meal most likely.

Um..how do I take it?” He inquired with a raised brow.

An indignant sigh from the Baron. “Just pour a smidgen on the back of your hand and..I suppose in a somewhat crude way of putting it..snort it.

He eyed the man with a queer gaze but once more shrugged his shoudlers. “Odd way of taking medicine but okey dokey boss man!” A mock salute given as he did as explained.

Just a smidgen! I remind you.” He burst out suddenly.

An outburst that nearly made him jump and drop the bag. “Jeeze, alright! No need to get your britches all twisted, old man.” Grumbling his annoyance as he carefully poured a tiny amount onto the back of his hand.

Just as the carriage rolled to a stop did he snort it. Next thing Kazu knew he felt like he just got kicked by a horse and with it an intense burst of energy that crashed through his body washing away the fatigue and aches in an instant as he was on his feet having not even noticed when he jumped up. “Whoo! Fuck I feel good!” He exclaimed; unsure of how to explain it but he suddenly felt like he could jog all around the kingdom…twice.

We’re here! Come on, let's go go go. Can’t keep old Calby waiting!” Kazu spoke in an almost hyper manner while bouncing on his feet now feeling both eager and anxious for this brunch.

Without giving Asteroth a chance to respond, the drugged up Kazumin bounded out of the carriage.
Izushima Ashari

Up in the rafters above the throne room, a single tiny red blaze shone within the darkness. A small flash of red illuminating an intricately designed fox mask; a faint inhale followed by an equally faint and slow exhale sending whispy smoke to exude and puff around the mysterious individual's head. Sitting in a crouched position, nearly two hour's past since having stealthily snuck his way inside.

The job itself held little interest to the lone fox. No, curiosity and intrigue were what had drawn him to this throne room this day. For it was not often for one of the royal family to put together such a job that requested so many hunters.

Everything about this seemed sketchy and likely had some underhanded motive beneath this whole situation that was certain to lead to trouble. And that is exactly what Izushima was hoping for. The mere idea of whatever deception the queen or some other unseen party might have excited him far more than the job in question. Especially when it led to a group of hunters, whom each viewed themselves as the best or strongest.

Hardly a minute passed by since the group were brought in and like clockwork, the majority of them started sizing up and bickering. Of all the groups he has seen on his travels, none amused him more so than monster hunters and their never-ending need to showboat their swagger. As is typical, most of the hunters viewed this a competition; a battle of ego and pride and this group certainly stunk of ego. He couldn't help but hope that the queen had enough sense to know that these hunters could never work as a proper team. Knowing this only made this whole gathering even more peculiar. But, while this job would be viewed as a conquest to compete over, to Izu this was all a game, one he neither cared to win or lose, just to play and have his fun.

And fun he will have, he mused with a deviously playful Cheshire smile hidden beneath his mask.

Silently observing the group with a puff from his pipe here and there, taking in the interactions of the group with their egotistical dick measuring contest. A typical eyerolling display that always followed this sort of people and yet it always brought a giggle to his lips. At least one amongst the prideful rabble seemed to share such thoughts and said person was the smallest of the bunch which only added to his amusement. This job was sure to give him plenty of entertainment.

With one last deep inhale from his pipe, the robed fox chose to hop down, his body falling fast at first though shortly before landing two trails of smoke drifted beneath his shoeless feet. A gentle and graceful landing followed with nary a sound save for the quiet fluttering of his haori sleeves and soft thump of bamboo flute strapped to his waist.

The masked individual stood quietly his right-hand lifted holding an elegantly crafted smoke pipe though its length was half size longer than usual.

" Forgive the intrusion. It seems I have taken a wrong turn in Alburquerque but since I'm here I might as well participate in this gathering... " Tilting his head to the left as he peered over the hunters before turning to the queen shifting his head to tilt to the right as he did so." That is if it is fine with you, your majesty... or was it perhaps highness? Royals with their titles and honorifics have always been... perplexing to me." He finished with a muffled giggled, his voice gentle and soft as silk soothing to the ears albeit muffled by the mask and carried with a hint of a devious nature.
