Who came up with the idea to make our statuses quotes from philosophers, anyway?

We could be doing something productive with our lives... instead, we're here.

A random quote from some philosopher that we'll forget in a few moments.

<Snipped quote by Ashifili>

yeah i was thinking about that..... If ever you find yourself in a losing battle and about to die, log out. no penalty?

Knowing how many fictional worlds work, there's probably some sort of system where if you log out, there'll still be some sort of exp penalty or risk of your character still dying if you log out in a risky area.
Static was glad that she and Havoc were getting another person coming along. The more the merrier, Static thought, pleased to have made another new acquaintance, possibly even new friends as well. Then came the issue of how to even get to the Black King in the first place.

"Hmm..." Static hummed, thinking about the issue. Then Static opened her interface and sent both Havoc and Faust a party invite. "We'll just have to get there by walking, unless you have any money to afford a taxi or something," Static said as a message box popped up in front of them, saying, "Static Flash would like you to join a party. [Accept] [Decline]"

After the invites were accepted, Static turned to face the path she was originally taking. "Let's go!" Michelle said happily as she began to walk down the path. "If we keep following the map, I'm sure we'll get there eventually!" And so, the three friends went off on their little journey, heading for the Ebony Strykers location. What could possibly go wrong?
@IncredibleBee: this rp isn't exactly a "role-playing game". This is a forum rp meant for fun (I suppose you could call it an "rpg", but you know what I mean). Point is, this isn't a video game, or a table-top, or anything that involves those mechanics. This is our own story, in our own world, with our own rules. This world has little correlation to those you are referencing. Let's just leave it at that and set aside the small misconceptions, and just have fun with the story.
@deadpixel101@Scarifar

I think we should walk to the black king and also we should probably start walking soon.

If you guys are ok with that then I reckon @Scarifar should start us all walking in his next post :D

Yeah, we don't really have any other options.
How much EXP do you get for killing a character the same level as you?

That probably depends on what level you are.
As Static made small talk with her newfound acquaintance, another person came by to talk. Static turned to see another girl, who expressed some interest in the two. Static tilted her head, curious to see who this new person was.

"You don't exactly look like a healer if you ask me," Static said with a smile on her face. "But if you say you are one, I don't see a reason to not believe you." And it was true, she didn't see a reason to distrust Faust.

Static extended a hand to Faust and said, "My name's Static Flash, but you can call me Static. I'm a Berserker."
I'm willing to give it a try if more people show up. Let's see what happens.
Hey uh, just to be clear, since vehicles do in fact exist in DGO, is it safe to say that there are taxis and the like for people to ride in? You know, so that people don't have to walk everywhere like scrubs and/or die from PK'ers?
@Frettzo: Oh, yes, of course.
A collab between Scarifar and Optio

There was barely any time at all, and the two players unfortunately collided with each other, resulting in a rather unfortunate mess. After the collision, Static found herself on the ground, lying faceup. Shaking her head to get rid of the disorientation, Static groaned, "Uuhhhh, sorry about that. Kinda hard to stop when you're moving so fast." Static slowly got back up, using her naginata as support, then extended a hand to Havoc. "You ok? Well, you're probably not ok, but at least you're still alive. That's something right?" Static said with a smile. "My name's Static Flash. You can probably guess why I'm called that."

Havoc gawked at the strange apparaition that had appeared before her, blocking out the lovely view of the sky, there was a moment of awkward silence as her wits slowly came back to her and she tentativly reached for the outstretched hand of Static Flash.
"No w..worr-"
She coughed clearing her throat and tried again.
"No worries"
She carefully found her feet and dusted off the dirt that had clung to her knees.
"I'm Havoc, This is my first login,"
She gestured round at the street to emphasize her point.
"Where were you off to in such a hurry anyway?"

"Oh, a new player!" Static said excitedly. "I was heading over to go see the Black King. I'm already in a guild, but it sounded so exciting! Did you get the message saying she wanted to recruit whoever came to her place?"

A cheeky smile slid onto Havocs face.
"I was just replying to the message when something interrupted me, actually,"
She gave a pointed look up and down Static Flash.
"Where is her place anyway? Is it far from here?"

Static's smiled took on a guilty appearance as Havoc made her rather unpleasant, but not undeserving, remark. Static looked at her minimap, then said, "Kinda. I tend to just run everywhere, so things don't seem very far to me." Static looked at her naginata, then put it back in her inventory, making it disappear. Static then said, "We could always walk there, but there are some people out there who like to hunt noobs like us. I get to avoid that a bit because of how fast I can be, but you might have less luck there. Static was then silent, trying to come up with a new topic to talk about.

Havoc's smile widened.
"I don't mind a bit of fighting on the way, do you know any other players who could come with us?"

Michelle gave that a moment's thought, then said, "No, not really. Most of my friends are off doing homework or something right now."

Havoc's smile shrunk a little at that and after a little more thought her shoulders slumped.
"And my best friends aren't old enough for DGO yet.."
