Pokemon Ranger: Fire of the Future; The New Ranger Batch

Alright, so this is a spark I had last night replaying Pokemon Ranger, after finishing replaying Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. It brought back so many memories, and then it hit me. Why not have an RP about being Rangers? It'll start off at the Pokemon Ranger School in Almia, where a new class will be learning to become Rangers, Operators, and Mechanics. This will also center mainly around the three main Ranger Series Regions, Almia, Fiore, and Oblivia. As such, at times it will involve characters from said regions, such as Area Rangers, Top Rangers, Ranger Union Operatives, and just overall characters.

Plot

The Pokemon Ranger Union has stood for years as the protector of nature. Many evils have risen in the past years however. Some almost achieved their dreams of domination, only to be thwarted by the Pokemon Rangers. Now, more and more people want to become Rangers, so they can help defend nature from these evils.

As most Rangers do, many new students are arriving at the Pokemon Ranger School, to study to become Rangers working in the field, Operators helping from afar, and Mechanics making sure everyone can get their jobs done. And... even if there is no evil in the world, there will always be problems for the Rangers to solve. Although, no one said that there WAS no evil in the world today...

Rules/Guidelines

1. This will be based more off of the Anime than the Games, so things such as damaging the Capture Styler will be less important, while conveying your friendship to the Pokemon are more important.

2. No Godmodding (Ex. Captures Arceus in less than five seconds)

3. I'll allow collabs, just make sure to have some individual posts as well.

4. I will not be directly playing as a new student. Instead, for a time, I will be the teachers and staff of the Ranger School, and later on appear as an experienced Ranger as my main character.

5. NPCs and Locations will be revealed as the characters discover them.

6. As for Almia's Top Ranger situation, I will be going with 5 Top Rangers in Viore, Including both Kate and Kellyn, along with Keith, Sven, and Wendy.

7. If you're not good at acting out captures, I would use a Dice System to judge your capture skill.

Pokemon Ranger Bryon Cass and Riolu

Name: Bryon Cass

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Appearance: He has combed over blackish brown hair, with bright blue eyes. He is about five foot tall, and wears standard Area Ranger clothes. He is somewhat muscular, but still remains relatively thin. He has a Capture Styler holster on his belt, which he uses to, well, carry his Capture Styler. He also has his Ranger Rank pads on his shoulders.

Personality/Bio: Bryon was born in the Sinnoh Region's Veilstone City. He grew up there, looking up to the Gym Leader Maylene as a role model. When he was ten years old, a poacher stole a valuable egg from the Veilstone Gym, so he took up the chase with Maylene. They managed to corner the poacher in an alleyway in the city, where he dropped the egg while climbing up a fire escape. Bryon managed to catch the egg, which proceeded to hatch in his hands. Out of the egg hatched a tiny Riolu. Maylene and her Lucario had since captured the poacher, and had called Officer Jenny to take him away. Afterwards, seeing how close the Riolu and Bryon had become already, Maylene entrusted him with the small Aura Pokemon.

After that, he spent time considering what he should do next. He was old enough to become a trainer, yes, and he had Riolu as his partner. But he just didn't catch on to the trainer life. He began looking at other options, and found out about the Pokemon Ranger Union, an organization in place to protect nature, people, and Pokemon everywhere. He also found out how to join, a Ranger School in the Almia Region. For a time he said goodbye to Riolu and left it with his mother while he went off to Almia to become a Ranger. After a few months, he returned graduated from the Ranger School along with the rest of his class, and was assigned to the Ranger Union HQ in Almia. Before that, he went back to Sinnoh, and reunited with Riolu. He made Riolu his Ranger Partner Pokemon, and returned to Almia.

A few years later, the Team Dim Sun incident occurred, putting all Rangers on high alert. On the day of the attack on the Ranger Union, he was away handling Team Dim Sun in Vien Forest. He watched along with the rest of Almia as the Top Rangers defeated President Hall of Altru Inc., the true mastermind of Team Dim Sun, and brought peace to Almia. Since then, there has been little trouble in Almia, but he's still always ready.

It has been about a year since Team Dim Sun attempted to use the Shadow Crystal to take over the Almia Region. Since then, Altru Inc. has reformed, now truly a corporation dedicated to finding new green energy sources, and they are doing pretty well. Peace Tower, Altru's headquarters, runs solely on wind and hydroelectric power. They hope that the rest of the region will be soon to follow.

For the Ranger Union, very few problems seem to have surfaced as of late. Almia is experiencing an era of great peace and prosperity. Sure there are still always small Quest problems, but there have been very few new missions for the elite Top Rangers. Area Rangers usually handle situations quickly, and there is little need for the more advanced rangers. This does not keep them from training, and helping where they can though.

But even if Almia is peaceful, the rest of the world still needs Pokemon Rangers. And thus the Ranger School begins yet another year with a fresh batch of students from all over the world. Some are from right here in Almia, others come from as far as Hoenn and Oblivia. All I can say is that it seems the world will be in good hands, if something does arise in the coming future.

Chairperson Erma is correct indeed. There are many new students at the Ranger School this year, why I haven't ever seen this many before. We have such an influx that we've had to hire a third teacher, and possibly have to look into hiring a fourth! In this process, however, we are taking great care to prevent another incident such as the one with Mr. Kincaid and young Isaac.

As usual we are having our standard courses and have options for becoming Rangers, Operators, and Mechanics. We will be performing our standard semester long courses, taught by Ms. April, Mr. Rivers, and Mr. Chris. Rivers has proven himself to be a great teacher over the past year, taking the place of Kincaid. We will see how Chris performs.

We of course will require our usual shipment of School Stylers from the Ranger Union, I have enclosed a list of all students this year so you will know how many to send. And we suggest choosing a Ranger for the Outdoor Class before the year actually begins.

Of course, of course! My, this IS quite the list of students, you surely will have your hands full this year. We will dispatch a Ranger with the Stylers immediately. And a Ranger for the Outdoor Class... hmm... I believe I know a good candidate this year. He's been around for a few years and has proven to be a very effective Area Ranger.

His name is Bryon, he's the one we are sending with the stylers. You can see for yourself what he's like when he arrives. He should be arriving as soon as the students do, as a matter of fact. I would also like to inform you of some changes we've made to the school styler this year.

We've added the Voicemail feature into the School Stylers, but they will only work between the stylers at a short range, say across campus. That way you won't have to ask to borrow standard Ranger Stylers this year. I look forward to seeing this new wave of Rangers, Operators, and Mechanics this year!

Possible Typo, I'm guessing you meant "Down Time"

Killshot earned his name when he used the standard issue DC-15a to eleminate a minor droid commander.

If he has a standard issue DC-15a Rifle, why isn't it listed under his weaponry?

Also, just a nitpick thing, is he the type of sniper to just sit in one spot and camp, or will he take a shot and move on?

Ranger Union

As Lola continued following Ark, it quickly became apparent that something was off. A few moments after that, the smell of smoke could be clearly smelt on the breeze, possibly a campfire? No, this was a strong odor, way stronger than a meager campfire. She rounded an outcropping of rocks to a horrifying sight: A massive portion of the forest was burning out of control! "This isn't good... Voicemail! Voicemail! Ridge, get over here quick! We've got a forest fire and it's out of control!"

Still rushing over with Storm by his side, Aiden got the message. "Roger, new mission then: Douse the Forest Fire! Me and storm are on our way, see if there are any Pokemon nearby that can help! I'll be there as soon as I can!" Aiden hadn't stopped the entire time, and he could now see the glow of the fire further down the lakeside. This day had taken a turn, first they were looking for Team Royal Skies late at night, now it seemed they would be pulling an all-nighter taking down a forest fire.

Meanwhile Lola had been scanning the lakeside for any Pokemon that could help end this fire. Most would have been asleep by now, but the fire was beginning to wake up a few. And what better could show up than a couple of Blastoise? "Perfect, that's just what we need to get this thing under control!" She raised up her arm with her Fine Styler on it, locked on target, and fired the capture disc. "Capture On!" The disc quickly formed a ring around Blastoise, and with a few swift arm movements, it was done. "Capture Complete! Blastoise, help me get this fire under control, a Hydro Pump could be helpful!" The Blastoise nodded, and fired its massive water cannons towards the flaming trees.

Finally, Aiden made it to Lola's location. Seeing that she had captured a Blastoise to use, he looked and saw yet another, probably the first's friend. "Storm, help out with some Sand Attack. I can handle a simple Blastoise Capture." The Sandslash looked over to the raging fire and nodded back to Aiden. <Alright, just be careful. Just cause you're a Top Ranger doesn't mean you're immune to danger!> With that, the Sandslash joined Lola and began spouting Sand Attack against the fire. "Alright, Capture On!" With that Aiden fired his capture disc, and within a few short moments, the second Blastoise was captured as well. "Blastoise, I need your help too, we have to put this fire out!" The Blastoise didn't even nod, and rushed over to his companion's side and began firing his massive water cannons as well. Soon, the fire began to retreat, but they were still far from done.

Team Royal Skies

Following the directions sent to him, Galahad had put the coordinates into the vehicle's built-in GPS. After a long and bumpy ride over the rough terrain, they reached the GPS marker. The vehicle came to a stop, a second truck stopping just behind them. "Sir, I don't see anything out here but grass and vegetation." Galahad jumped down, two Pokeballs in hand. "That's the point, they don't expect people to find something this valuable this easily." He tossed the Pokeballs into the air, releasing the Pokemon inside. They turned out to be a Machamp and an Aegislash. "Machamp, Aegislash, combination attack." Galahad said calmly, pointing towards the thickest part of the vegetation.

The two Pokemon obliged, having Aegislash somewhat combine with Machamp, leaving its sword in one of Machamp's hands and its shield in the other. Immediately after, the twosome sliced the vegetation into thin slices that would have made a master chef proud. On the other side, barely concealed under a layer of dirt, appeared to be some kind of stone brick structure. Machamp and Aegislash didn't stop with the vegetation, though. They sliced clean through the wall, revealing an assortment of passages behind the now rubble.

"Seal off the entry point, and get the equipment set up. I want an echo scan of this structure, I want a complete map before we even set foot inside." The grunts immediately saluted. "Yes Sir!" They said in unison, as they began dragging cases of specialized gear from the trucks and setting up around the structure. "According to what my liege said, within this ruin lives an extremely powerful Pokemon, powerful enough to be able to boost our tracking equipment... what is it?" Said Galahad as a grunt came forward.

"Priority message, sir, from HQ." Galahad activated his commlink in his visor immediately. "Galahad, I'm going to give you a diversion so your efforts go undetected. I'm sending Gwen to Ultima City to cause some havoc, try and draw the Rangers out of your area." Galahad was pleased, he was sending another of the big three as a diversion, brilliant. "I understand my liege, and we have located the ruin you specified. By night's end we will have the Pokemon we need." The voice on the other side grumbled a bit. "I hope you do, I wish you good hunting, old friend." The voice faded, eventually ending the communication. Galahad returned to his duties, he had to secure this Pokemon, or their operation would surely fail.

I'll start this up when we get about two more players I'd say, more can join in if interested after that too. Keep in mind, I'm gonna let you all have some creative freedom with creating squadmates and such, so feel free to make some as well. I'll throw them under the NPCs section of the OP.

One Last Thing: I've decided that the other Jedi that I'll allow will be a Co-GM, so I'll also be looking for experience there.

@Lonewolf685 Rage Company, led by Captain Rigger, is a front line and assault unit. They usually land first, and clear a path for the rest of the army. Flare Company, led by Captain Crimson, would come in later with the vehicle detachment and act as support and defense in case of a flanking attack by the enemy. Falcon Squadron, led by ARF Sergeant Scouter, is an AT-RT detachment. They are used for reconnaissance and quick, versatile attack units.

@Lauder I'll say this up front: Unless I decide otherwise, Hailfire is a closed unit. It's essentially the best troopers in the 117th. It's a close-knit unit, they don't just let anyone join. It's made up of survivors of Bronze's original unit from Geonosis and those he's decided have the right qualities to be a part of the team.
