"Welcome, to the Velvet Room",
Chiaki's consciousness returned as she was welcomed into a room of brilliant blue. The fine long table she was seated at was marvellous, various decorations told her this was a dining table. There were around twenty one chairs here too, ten on each side, with a single one at the far end. It was the man who had spoken as she arrived to consciousness in this room, whose most striking feature was his long nose, and standing beside him silently was a beautiful woman in blue with pale blonde hair. She would look down and first notice a number in front of her, 13, and letters stating, "Death". Immediately, she thought this incredibly ominous... Was she dead? She kept going down, and noticed she was wearing something fitting for a funeral... Well, almost. It was black, that's why she thought so immediately, and the black hat with veil also reminded her of that, but the dress itself seemed to serve formal and ball party functions. It was long, and filled with frills and flower ornaments made from purple and blue. She rather liked it.
"Do not be alarmed, you are not dead. This place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter, this is Henrietta, and we will be your guides for your journey", he began. As she looked down the table, she would finally notice several other figures, they were faded, and she couldn't see their faces, but in her mind she somehow knew who they were. Rui, Matthew, Noboru, Kami, and Leiko... They were the ones who rescued her.
"Only those who have signed the contract may enter here. It appears you have noticed you are not the first and only guest here... They are simply not... Present, but you are all connected by a destiny, or rather... A path. As you can see, there are still many more empty seats at this table, and you will meet them all... In due time", she began to pay a bit more attention to the long nosed man as he began to shuffle a few cards, and picking one up, he showed to her... 13, Death. Like what was in front of her inscribed into the table.
"It appears you are of the Death Arcana, a brutal reality for those who still live, and an even more brutal one for those one leaves behind, but death also means change will occur, whether it to be oneself, or the world around them... For better or for worse. It appears you changed for the better, else you would not be here", what he described was... Pretty close to how Chiaki felt about the entire ordeal with her grandmother... He put the card down and motioned over to the lady beside him.
"For now, Henrietta will give you a special key, so that you may enter this room again at your own accord", as he spoke, the lady known as Henrietta strode down the table over to Chiaki, and placed a key in front of her, which Chiaki without a second thought picked up off the table.
"But for now... Farewell", and with that, darkness returned to Chiaki as she faded back into the real world.
