And the power of time skips. People don't seem to be aware that this technique exists.

Makes it easy for people to catch up, they can just say they were travelling through here or there etc. and nothing of note happened when they're coming back in.
I feel like 20 is too many for an RP like this. Maybe for something with the military and team work touch to it, like RWBY or the RP is played where everyone is in the same group or faction, it works because everyone has to abide by a central system or allegiance. Around several players would be good for a Pokemon RP, so long as they're committed.
That is also true. We ended up needing to wait a few days between.

I think the problem is how detached everyone was from each other, only those who played together seemed to stick around for longer. So I guess, find your travel partner? Unless you're really self-driven.
Ah yes. Yeah we were leagues ahead of everyone... I'm more or less hoping everyone's able to occupy themselves, rather than rush ASAP to the place they want to go to.
Rylen's not going to understand any of the malice and just get into it... And probably wreck a few days.
@Whimsicott Maybe near the end of the RP (dear god if we make it that far..) you can become the professors assistant.

@Sho Minazuki In all seriousness you might have a competition for that champion.

Well, it kind of needs competition.
Mine wants to meet his moms expectations.

It would be father, but no one has a dad in Pokemon.
Mine wants to be Champion.

I'ma be honest, if we use a spreadsheet for anything, I'm out.

Aside from being incredibly restrictive, I don't think think it adds anything other than needless complication to the process. As long as a pokemon is reasonably in an environment it can be encountered in (say, a rock type in a mountain or a wooper in a swampy/watery area). I don't think we'd have that problem. realistically speaking, pokemon aren't exactly easy to capture. Not to mention, the fact that no one is going to be carrying around 99 pokeballs in their backpack to just spam at a pokemon.

Of course, but there may be some specific encounters, and I like the idea of randomly encountering something really powerful or just at random too.

Basically... Is there a way for us to have a sort of random and exploration element? I want to see if we can reach a compromise.
@AbysmalDemon By the way I know you scrapped the spreadsheet, but I think we can keep using just the spreadsheet with all the encounters alone so that we have an idea of what we're allowed to and not allowed to (or can't possibly) encounter in the area we arrive to. I have one you can use as a base.

Idea will be players will check the spreadsheet themselves and see what would be in their area... Kind of like picking out of a menu I guess, this way no one has to wait for anything really.

I don't see any fun in going to the first 2-3 areas and suddenly catching your solid team.
