Greetings, and thanks for stopping in!

The Mass Effect hype is real and having finished my recent playthrough I have been brewing up a few RP ideas for anyone who is interested. Though first let me tell you a little about myself…

I have been on the guild for just over a year but I have been text based RP’ing for more than a decade. I tend to write mid casual to low advanced and I’m capable of writing both male and female character roles. I’m online basically everyday though for the most part I only post after around five in the evening when I am off work. I am open to IC writing on either the forum or through PM, as long as we stay onsite. 

As for my posting frequency this is based on my partner’s disposition. I am typically capable of regular posting (within a day or two) though this isn’t a set expectation as I am willing to go at a pace comfortable for my writing partner. I am very flexible regarding my partners and am I willing to accommodate them.

To mention a few other things; I only write in third person, I am willing to include or exclude canon characters from the plot (though let’s not break established lore), and while romance is on the table I prefer to keep things SFW. For now I think this is a solid enough description and if you have any questions or concerns please LMK so we can properly discuss.

Now, to the plots!

Setting & Date: Earth, 2186

Plot: The Reapers have invaded Earth. After shearing through the Alliance fleets and other defenses they have descended on humanity’s home world like a terror, razing cities and slaughtering millions within mere hours. The reinstated Commander Shepard and most of the surviving Alliance brass have fled the Sol System to seek aid from the Council and the rest of the galaxy.

Meanwhile the fight continues on Earth. Admiral Anderson and other remaining leaders are organizing resistance against the Reapers while civilian populations are being dispersed out from urban centers where the Reapers are concentrating their assault, for now. 
With Alliance ranks short in places and outright destroyed in others militia bands are being formed across the globe, cooperating with the remaining forces on Earth working to hold the Reapers at bay and save all they can. “Chaos” is an understatement for the situation on Earth, but humanity must keep up it’s fight until the day salvation arrives. 

My partner and I will role as a pair of fighters on Earth, be they Alliance military or organized militia. This is designed to be a long term RP telling the story of two survivors fighting through Armageddon together, beginning mere days after the arrival on Earth and closing out on word of the massive allied armada arriving with the Crucible in tow. Exact details, settings, and plot arcs are up for discussion.

Note(s): Due to the setting and nature of this RP human characters are mandatory. Background, abilities and etcetera are all open for discussion. Players are simply limited to the human species.

Setting & Date: Various star systems and planets, 2184 

Plot: Several months after the destruction of the Normandy and Commander Shepard being declared KIA, Cerberus - a pro human splinter faction - has increased its activities on varied fronts. Among their newer pursuits is something known only as “Project Bastion”. 

Doctor Hermann Jauch is an expert on dark energy theory and one of the earliest minds dedicated to the development of human biotics. Once respected and welcomed in think tanks, laboratories, and other academic centers Doctor Jauch is now a man fallen from grace. His credentials revoked and his reputation sullied due to a mistake from decades past. Worst yet he is now on Cerberus’ kill list, hunted relentlessly by their operatives. 

The Doctor has with him important data regarding Project Bastion, research data stolen from the lab archives of a Cerberus facility as well as other critical information. Knowing that there are many who would be interested in acquiring what he has to offer - such as the Alliance and the Council - the Doctor has fled to the Citadel and reached out to various parties in hope of cutting a deal in assuring his safety from Cerberus. But what first seems a simple case of amnesty in exchange for information develops into a race across the stars to uncover the truth behind and shut down Project Bastion.

There are several ways that my partner and I can pursue this RP. Two Alliance operatives looking to bring in the Doctor and his information? Or an Alliance operative and a Specter moving to beat the other to snag the target? These are just two examples of course and I’m looking forward to discussing how to move on this with my partner.

Setting & Date: Proteus, 2182

Plot: Set one year before the events of the Mass Effect trilogy, this RP takes place on the colony world of Proteus out in the Alliance controlled Artemis Tau cluster. Like the Hanar home world Proteus has ninety percent oceanic cover and is still in it’s early stages as a colony world, it’s population little more than ten thousand at current. 

An Alliance survey team exploring near the capital of Ithaka has come across something incredible. While navigating the coastline the team discovered a large underwater cave entrance that drew their attention. Moving through a winding system of tunnels they eventually made their way into a large interior cavern where they say they discovered what they call an intricate piece of alien technology stored away in what looked to be a long abandoned bunker of sorts. 

The team immediately had word sent back to Ithaka requesting additional resources and personnel so that the artifact and the caverns could be properly secured and studied. Officials at Ithaka called on a leading archaeologist from Elysium and his colleagues who all departed immediately for Proteus. With a small team of Alliance marines in tow, the group has set out to begin their study and excavation of this artifact. What at first seems an exciting new discovery makes a turn for the worst and the scientists and marines find themselves at the mercy of an ancient evil. Only a strong will see any of them out alive.

My partner and I will role as two members of the newly arriving team which will consist of four scientists and six marines. As GM I can control the various “NPC/secondary” characters or my partner and I can alternate and share control of them, this can be worked out. That aside we will each have our main character to role as.

Setting & Date: Anhur, 2185

Plot: Mateo Zape is one of the most well-known men in the Terminus Systems and the most feared on the Terminus world of Anhur. A veteran and survivor of the civil war that ravaged Anhur, Mateo was arrested not long after the fall of the Batarian centric regime that formerly controlled the planet. His crimes spanning a gruesome list that includes genocide, drug trafficking, slaving, and post-war political assassinations.

For seven years Mateo was held aboard the prison ship Purgatory since his arrest after the war. In 2185 when the Purgatory was destroyed Mateo escaped aboard a hijacked shuttle and made his way to safety, eluding the recovery teams that arrived to secure the thousands of escaped prisoners.

Two months later Mateo has now returned to Anhur. Few know this of course and for now this is how he prefers it stay. Things on Anhur have changed in the last seven years though little for the better. The new democratic government works tirelessly to restore the ravaged world that still suffers from the effects of the civil war but their efforts have shown little fruit so far. Many fear it could take decades to restore true infrastructure and proper way of life to Anhur.

Mateo has since allied with various groups of mercenaries - freelancers mostly along with splinter groups of Eclipse - and has seized control of an old factory complex in a post-war ruin. The reasons for this are unknown though concerned parties have guessed it to be an attempt by Mateo to restart his underworld ventures. 

I will role as Mateo - as well as important NPC’s - and my partner will role as someone who has come to Arnhur to kill or capture him. The ambiguity regarding partner character opens the possibilities for character species, motives and background, and even allegiance/faction.
