By the time the fight was over, Amuné was the only member of their little band left standing, since she'd used barely any magic and not fought at all. Ethan crawled over and tried to put the broken Machina back together, but his limbs wouldn't stay attached. All Amuné had been doing was laying him out nicely, so he wasn't in a twisted heap. She looked up at Ethan when he took he hands and pulled them away, trying to tell her that Cecil would be okay. "N-no he won't, this isn't like that. He...he...." She couldn't finish, dissolving instead into tears.

When the strange lady came over she didn't look up. The child had gotten a look at the newcomer's wild hair earlier, and she was loud and used bad words and Amuné didn't like her, even if she had rescued them. But the suggestion that Cecil might be replaced brought her head up with a jerk. "You can't replace Cecil, he's not like the other ones!" she yelled, hands curling into fists. "And I don't want to replace him! You rescued us, why couldn't you rescue him too?!" Amuné deliberately turned her back on the two strangers and buried her face in Wyth's fur as the moorcat pressed close in a bid to comfort her. She didn't understand, how could they talk about Cecil like that? He wasn't just a Machina, he was a person!

She lifted her head just enough to watch the Muran woman take Cecil's body to the cart. When Ethan pulled her into a hug the girl went willingly, the force of her sobs shaking her entire body. By the time they got to town it would be far too late for Cecil. He wasn't breathing, and he didn't have a pulse, and her Mommy said that without those even if a person could be brought back their head might not be right, and they might not be all there. And then the stupid lady and the stupid flying man would say to replace him, to get a new Machina. Amuné didn't want some other Machina. She wanted Cecil to be okay.

@TheMinorFall Excellent! And thanks~ Like the fifth mental one. Very nice tactical thing. If I hadn't made a healer, I was considering a tactician. ...Actually considered something like Sini (you met her, she's the kami of war with the intensely colored hair) has in her other rp, where she feel the flow of battle and craft strategies accordingly, but I'm not a good tactician myself so I have trouble playing one. Even though I want to. ^.^ *sits on and waves to your wife* Hi~

Man, this thread is hopping. /REally/ hopping. Out of curiosity, @Gowi, what kind of a post cycle rate are you hoping for?

@Gowi You don't have to do it right /now/...I mean, I'm gonna stop working on this and go play WindWaker for a while. So no rush. And there's still a ton of work to do on my CS. Also finding a picture...ugh I hate having to find pics. x.x There's never one that's quite right, and I invariably waste hours by being distracted by pretties.

Perhaps for another mental benchmark you can use something like one of the ones I'm going with for Emma? I've got soemthing along the lines of identify oppoonent, to recognize what something is and what it can do, or battlefield awareness, so she can intuit who needs help when.

Speaking of, these are mostly in notes form and I will neaten them up, but how do they sound for benchmarks?

physical

Healer - her healer type spells are quite effective, and she can cast them more quickly

agile - dart in, strike, and fall back. moves quickly and changes direction on a dime

acrobatic -- dancer, also trying alternative routes, good balance

saw it coming - good at identifying attacks fast enough to get out of the way or use a magic counter

support caster -- since the vast majority of her battle participation is spellwork, she has a high magical
endurance

mental

battlefield awareness - she is constantly assessing who needs help and how, so now she has an intuitive awareness of which teammates are in trouble, and how badly

identify monster - constantly noted what things did, and then looked up things she encountered afterwards, and now has a better chance of recognizing something, and knowing what it can do

enemy assessment - if she identifies an opponent, she may know this automatically, but when fighting she has tracked attacks and their efficacy, and can use this to identify weaknesses and what attacks are effective

danger assessment - a support caster doesn't last long if she doesn't know how to avoid danger. Experience (and a number of early deaths) have taught her how to recognize unstable terrain and places where unpleasant things might lurk, and now she's much better at recognizing such things.

pathfinder -- exploration, good at recognizing ways to get somewhere, and making improvised routes

@Gowi Sounds like Tyhrien, then. Would a serious gamer with a desire to escape the world for a bit and be someone other than herself -- just for enjoyment and relaxation -- turn out as something drastically different from her real appearance?

Torn between Drox and Tyhrien. Emma falls somewhere between the two, because while she does like playing hero, she's not necessarily honorable at all times. And while she's a protector/defender, she likes doing great deeds as well. Advice, anyone?

Also, will be looking to establish some preexisting character relationships soon. Nothing like best buds, but maybe some folks she knows and has worked with.
