I think we may need a rule that if you don't say you're swamped or that you're working on something, we can skip you if you take too long because this is getting ridiculous. If a person doesn't say something within 24 hours of a ping for if theyre going to post for sure. And we need to ask faster.

I am an adult, though I don't usually act like it. I'm a voracious reader, and not overly picky about books. I am artistic in a variety of areas, including music, drawing, writing, and sculpting. I have a minor obsession with dragons, and love the color violet. Fantasy is my preferred genre, be it past, future, urban...as long as it has a fantasy flavor to it. I also like scifi, mystery, and some horror. I am crazy, and I like tormenting my characters. But I don't bite...much. ^.~

Right, benchmarking seems to be a specific game term I hadn't encountered. Just like I wasn't clear on the different types of party roles for MMORPGs. My familiarity with them is YEARS out of date. ...Read a thing from WoW, and it looks like I understand the basics, but what is support vs. utility?
Oh! Questions on mechanics of the VR world:
What happens if someone dies? Can they be ressed? What if they are /not/ ressed? Is there a time limit on this? Do in-game chars need to eat/drink/sleep etc? How true-to-life is pain from injury?

It's looking like who Cecilly becomes is primarily healer with low combat abilities -- enough to help in a pinch, or get herself out of range. Toying with various things. Kinda like the idea of bladed fans as a weapon, use a fey race or something to compliment agility. Or maybe eventually using wind/fans to fly? Might be able to do some other wind stuff as she levels up. Toying with buffs/debuffs...not sure. Will need to narrow things down. But her initial starting point is healer. And she will definitely yell and curse at people that want heals but are where she can't heal them. <3 "Oh, you wanted healing? Well then why didn't you GET WHERE I COULD HEAL YOUR SORRY BEHIND?!"

@13org Yeah, just a bit frustrated that two major points are doubles. Makes me feel very unoriginal. ^.^;; I've always said that it's all in the execution, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a diverse cast.

Benchmark how I've heard it used doesn't mean what it seems to be used to mean here. Might someone elaborate?
"pool of experience"? meaning...the same town? The same playtime? The same skill level?
Do real-world skills carry over in any way to the game? For example, would a good dancer be better at similar tasks in the virtual world? And relatedly, would skill as a /gamer/ give any benefits? Like the opposite of the way that my lack of skill as a gamer pretty much guaranteed I died /very/ quickly in guild ranking battles in one of the two MMOs I ever played.
It sounds like the in-game history is the history of your avatar, and not intended to be done the way a fully-written character would be. In other words, it's known they were never born (as such), merely created. It's detailing how they fit into the virtual community, and not the fictional alternate world of Pariah itself. Right?
TFW the char you've been wanting to play is technically but not effectively blind, you start adapting and overhauling, and then you find out an accepted char is similarly impaired. Eh, I'd already decided that it needed dropping, so.
...TFW dance is a primary attribute irl of the character you're working on, and the second accepted char is a dancer. *headdesk* Right, might need to rethink this. ...Now I'm tempted to bring in Nikki. Except I really dun wanna play her. I use her too much for this sort of thing.
. . . oooh, Max and Malie might be fun. I wonder if I can pull them off in here, given there's a distance restriction. And that Max is an enforced pacifist...hm. Trying to figure out how that would even happen. Or if they'd need reworking...ugh. *throws ALL the ideas at the wall, and watches none of them stick*
Except I'd much rather remake Cecilly-the-dancer than use Max and Malie. >.< *flailing* ...Wait, this might work, if she's not a dancer in the game world. RIGHT.
