Humanity, the founding species of the Federation and by far, the most numerous and common species to be found all across the Alpha Quadrant, their homeworld being the Capital Planet of the Sol Federation, Earth. What else can be said of Humans is their standard and rather typical body shape, like a few other species, humans come in a great variety of skin pigments, races and cultures. As such, no one human is truly ever the same as the other.
Dathu are a semi-marine mammalian species native to Nasj, an Earth-like Moon that orbits a Gas Giant. The Dathu are covered from head to toe in thick fur. Their Fur comes in several shades of color depending on the region of their homeworld, the most common colors being Brown, Gray, White and or stripped colors.
The Dathu have two sets of eyes, an adaptation of their semi-aquatic existence, their vision more sharper then the average human. The upper, smaller pair of eyes are made use to traverse underwater when scavenging for food, the bottom larger eyes are their primary ones for sight in the surface.
Dathu eat and communicate via a trunk, although unimposing at first, inside a Dathu trunk are tiny sharp teeth to add them in consuming blood and meat. Dathu speak with high-pitched chirps, buzzes, and grunts, it is physically impossible for Dathu to speak any other languages and often are in need of special translation collars or other such devices, or that an alien speak in their tongue.
Native to Jana, a pristine Earth-like planet. The Alzdur are a species of bipedal amphibians, with tall, elongated bodies. Aldzur heads are long and thin, and have a pair of horns protruding from the top of their skulls. Like humans and Dathu, their skin varies in color, from bright reds and greens to the more common shades of blue or grey. Due to their origins, Aldzur have large oval shaped eyes that have also have a protective layer of thin membranes that act like eyelids.
Unlike Humans or Dathu, the Aldzur reproduce via egg-laying. Females of the species laying eggs for the males to then fertilize. An Aldzur female can lay up to a dozen eggs per year. Sadly, there is only a fifty perfect change that even a quarter of the eggs will hatch.
System of Government: A Federal Republic, the Federation Government is split between Three Branches, the Executive Branch, that being the Office of the UFS President who is both the Head of the Senate and the Commander-in-Chief of the Federation Armed Forces. One of the many tasks of a President consist of the creation of Laws, the signing of articles of diplomatic importance such as treaties, to appoint judges for the Interstellar Court and so on.
The Legislative Branch, that of which being the Senate. The Senate's main tasks consist of the passing of laws brought forward by the President, passing or vetoing Legislation by the President, and are to give consent to enact a Declaration of War. And finally there is the Interstellar Court, who are responsible for the enforcement of the Laws created by the President and passed then enacted by the Senate. IC Judges are appointed by the President.
Star Systems within the Federation are partially autonomous entities who are responsible for both maintaining worlds and installations within, and to maintain its own defense with their local System Defense Force to act as its shield.
History: The Federation's beginnings can be trace back to a little over two centuries ago, in the early 22nd Century. Upon the day of July 15th of the year 2110, humanity had finally accomplished the impossible, the creation of the the first warp drives. Within several weeks of Warp Drive travel, a United Nations Exploration Team had touched down on the surface of Mars for the first time, and with this monumental event for all of mankind, so began the Second Space Age, the New Golden Age of Exploration.
From 2111 to 2121, the Nations of the Earth embarked on a Space Race unlike any other, fleets of cargo and colony ships moving in droves to Mars as domed cities were erected on the once dead and quiet martian landscape. By 2122, over 2 Million humans now called Mars home. And as the years pass by, even more thought impossible projects were in the works, Mining Companies had begun to lay claim to the Asteroid Fields surrounding the system, the Jovian Moons, and many more as now untapped resources once out of reach of Man were now all theirs for the taking. Dozens of independent parties had constructed Sleeper Ships to set out far beyond the Sol System, and explore and colonize alien worlds, and decades later, reestablished contact with Earth.
All seemed well for Humanity, however, Earth was unaware of the Giant looming over the horizon. By 2160, Human scout ships had stumbled across Alien Territory, clashing with the Xim Initiative for the first time. Although the Xim were not the first alien species to be encountered by Man, the Dathu and Aldzur were the first to be encountered by human colonists, the former three being either of being technologically primitive in the case of the Dathu, or comparable to Pre-Warp humanity like the Aldzur. The Xim however, were a different breed, they were the first Interstellar Civilization, one more advanced then the humans at the time. Such a discovery made many tense, and contact with the Xim was less then pleasant.
For the first five years since contact, dialog with the Xim was a difficult and straining task, translation technology taking its time to properly translate the Xim language, however, before then, it was clear the Xim were very angry. When finally they could be understood, what the Xim Leaders had to say was disheartening to say the least. The Xim had claimed the Sol System and most of Space claimed by Human colonists was or is the "rightful domain" of the Xim Initiative and that Humanity's colonization projects were unsanctioned.
This revelation made relations with the Xim all the more tense and frighting, all that humanity could do was to stall. For nearly a century, it seemed to work, all the while the nations of the Earth begun military build up little by little to avoid the gaze of the Xim. And all the while, the Nations of the Earth, seeing the greater threat over the horizon, were all the more accepting of a star-spanning Federation. And thus the United Federation of Sol was born.
By 2263, talks with the Xim had finally collapsed, and war broke out between the Initiative and a young Federation. Humanity, alongside its Alien allies, were set to fight their first Interstellar War against a vast Alien Empire.
For Fifty years the war waged, despite the time fought, most of the war was relativity calm, much to the great surprise of the Federation's Leadership, border skirmishes and few failed incursions were common place, however, few times in the course of the war where it truly was a war, the last twenty years of the conflict were the most violent, by 2284, the Xim launching surprise attacks that caught the federation offguard, the Xim now having an iron grip over the frontier colonies. The Frontier was where the fighting was most fierce, the Xim armies storming the surface of worlds as the now stranded ground troops fought bloody and lengthy campaigns against a determined and endless enemy.
For years the brutality dragged on, until finally at last, the Xim were open to negotiations, Federation diplomats miraculously convincing the Xim leaders the pointlessness of the conflict, the Xim reluctantly agreed to the Federation's plea for peace and to cease all hostilities, within days, Xim forces had pulled out of the battered Frontier Colonies, and after half a century, the war was over.
It has been ten years since the end of the Xim War, but both sides still look to one with hate. Painful memories of the Xim ground invasion still lingering in the minds of millions of Federation citizens, and will never forget, nor forgive what had been done all those years ago. Although peace has been achieved, it seems for only but a moment.
Culture: Culture in the Federation is rather complicated, and differs greatly from planet to planet, each contain a unique culture and society born from it's people and surroundings. However, the Worlds of the Federation share quite a few common views, one of individualism, self-determination and liberty for the various peoples of different creeds and species. Such Human ideals had slowly, but surly spread to the alien citizens of the Federation, both local and migrant alike, and many had grown to adopt such ideals as their own.
The Federation Military is held to a high standard and respect in the Federation, seen as the ever watchful defenders of a young, but fragile civilization against Ancient Powers that seek its total submission and destruction.
Freedom of Religion in the Federation is also a scared right, and just as diverse, many Earth and Alien Religions begun spreading the word of their respective Gods once missionaries left offworld, and to the surprise of most, have acquired many converts not of their species.
Dathu Before first contact with the human colonists, the Dathu were a primitive late stone age society, centering around large tribes and extended families, each tribe ruled by an Elder Patriarch. The Dathu as well adhere strictly to an honor code, and Dathu warriors are generally known as polite and mild-mannered, even to ones enemy, and often will not strike down a fallen foe, less they be judged harshly by their patron God. However, it is wise not to purposely provoke a Dathu, Less they maul the provoker with their sharp claws, an action quiet justified.
Dathu worship a vast Pantheon of Gods, there is however, a few more notable Gods that have gathered the most followers. Juk'sha, the God of the Sun, Miq'ni, the Goddess of Life, and Shu'yih, God of the Great Void.
Aldzur The Aldzur share quite a few similarities to Humanity, their technology pre-first contact comparable to the 21st Century, a moderately advanced, if still planet-bound civilization. In the old times and in the present, the Aldzur would organize themselves into Houses, political alliances made up of blood related families or on rare cases, unrelated families, the Aldzur Houses can be led by either a Matriarch or Patriarch.
Aldzur Religion as well shares similarities to the humans and Dathu, the Aldzur having many different religions, however, a majority of the species is split between two dominant religions, The Churches of Talzira and Umarhi.

Strategic Information Service: The Federal Strategic Information Service, most commonly known as SIS or Federation Intelligence, serves as the Federation's (mostly)foreign intelligence agency. Often engaging in information gathering and espionage both in and out of the Federation, although it is not irregular for the ISB and SIS to cooperate.
Colonial Liberation Front: The CLF, or Colonials, are a small, if persistent separatist movement turned terrorists. They seek the Frontier to severe ties with Earth and the Core Systems and create their own nation.
Hands of Evolution: The Hands of Evolution, also known as Evos, Evolvers or simply the Hand is a rather large Cult of sapient beings that embrace the Xim's plans for humanity, aldzur, dathu and all who reside within the Federation. The Cult has been active for decades, shortly before the war and in it's end. The Hands of Evolution were active in the war as collaborators for the Xim, sabotaging the Federation Military in any way possible, and there are even claims, although proof is scarce, that the cult was responsible for the Xim Occupation of the Frontier. In the war's aftermath, many members of the Hands of Evolution had left with the Xim to embrace their true destiny, while many remained to continue the war against the Federation. Like the CLF, the cult has been deemed as a terrorist organization.

The Sol Federation Army is a branch of the Federation Armed Forces that is tasked with land-based military operations, and often works alongside with the Marine Corps and ground elements of the Systems Defense Force. The Federation Army is most often primarily tasked with garrison duties, the Marine Corps typically deployed in expeditionary operations across known space in conjunction with the Federation Navy. However, there are a few occasions in which the Army deployed alongside the marines in expeditionary operations, such as planetary invasions. Light Combat Armor

The System Defense Forces are responsible for both the defense and policing of the Federation's territories and holdings. Each Star System within the Federation possess an SDF, they are tasked with defending and keeping the civilian population under control from threats both internal and external. Whilst they're less heavily armed and equipped then their Military counterparts, the men and women of the SDF are more then capable to respond to any incident with vigilance and are not a force to be taken very lightly. The Solaran Federation Marine Corps, like its many now defunct predecessors, is a branch of the Federation Armed Forces responsible for conducting land-based expeditionary operations, using the mobility provided by the Federation Navy to rapidly deliver ground troops in conjunction with the Army. Marines, along with select Army personnel, are also primarily charged with the defense of Federation Navy vessels and installations from hostile forces.
The Federation Navy is by far the largest and most active branch within the Federation Armed Forces. The Navy is primarily responsible for the overall defense of the Federation and its holdings and in times of war, Navy Uniforms

The Federal Exploration Corps is the Civilian Branch of the Navy whose are responsible for the exploration of known space.
Weapons tech:
An evolution of the old experimental weapons of the 21st Century, Laser Weaponry of today is far different then before, as 24th Century technology allows the beams and bolts to become more visible and denser, if for brief moments. Laser-based armaments are common for federation warships and strike craft, different variants mounted unto said ships, be they point-defense guns, light batteries or anti-ship cannons.
Particle Cannons, a more powerful and dangerous form of the laser, delivery devices of Particles are often too large for smaller ships to operate, and as such, are reserved for larger ships classes to mount on.
Like the Laser, Powered Armor of the Federation is an evolution of the old experimental exo-skeletons of the 21st Century, first developed mid way through the war, and first deployed against the Xim a few years after their invasion and occupation. The Guardian Series, while not quite the perfect means to counter Xim Crushers, still proved as excellent heavy infantry.
Throughout the last decades of the war, the federation had faced the onslaught of the Xim's many specially designed strains, the more common one faced by the federation were the Crushers, 16 foot tall monstrosities that rampaged throughout the worlds of the frontier.
In the war's end, the federation soon began development of a counter to the xim crusher if war were to ever reignite once again, and thus the Mechanized Battle Frames were born, affectingly called "Mecha" to many pilots. MBFs are tall humanoid warmachines deigned as anti-crusher mobile weapons, and double as Infantry Support platforms.
General Technology:
First introduced in the 20th Century as possible concept, and later made reality by the 22nd Century. The Warp drive is a technology that has allowed Humanity to finally embark on space travel at faster-than-light speeds, generating warp fields to form a subspace bubble that envelop a starship, moving said starship at velocities that could greatly exceed the speed of light.
Cybernetics, once the realm of amputees, has quickly grown into a subculture in the Federation. Cybernetics coming in all forms, ranging from small, subtle implants, to replica limbs or to more extensive enhancements. Around forty percent of the population have some form of cybernetics or another.
The Military has even delved into such technologies for black ops projects, rumors spreading that the Military is working on a line of Cyborg Commandos.
Economy: Although the Federation is an adequately well off nation overall, individual star systems, worlds and other settlements greatly differ from one another. The Core Systems, such as Sol, are first-world grade all throughout, both pristine and highly urbanized, these worlds are places of the wealthy and powerful.
The Gap systems are, funnily enough, are in the middle road, somewhat developed, but not to quite up to the standards to the Core Worlds. Lastly there is the border systems, or the "Frontier" as it is commonly referred to. The Frontier, with the exception of New Columbia, are underdeveloped and poor colonies, and are havens of unruly types, and often act as a gateway between the Federation and the Coalition. Constitution-class Supercarrier Having entered development midway through the war, but only a single vessel was ever completed by the war's end, Constitution Supercarriers were to serve as the command and control centers of any Federation Task Force. Constitution class ships are by far the largest vessels in the federation's arsenal, perhaps even in Known Space. Due to their sheer size, the Constitution class is capable to operate autonomously, carrying the necessary forces and armament to repeal almost any space-borne threats and are capable of establishing beachheads for planetary invasion, carrying a division's worth of troops, personnel and equipment. Currently there are four Constitution vessels in existence, the Constitution, Enterprise, Liberation, and Victoria. Triumphant-class Carrier One of several new top-of-the-line warships, the Triumphant Carriers had entered production near the war's end, and were first tested in New Columbia Offensive, giving promising, if mixed results. Nonetheless, the Triumphant had accomplished it's test and had slowly phased out the old Hydra-class Carriers, the remaining ships now in service of the SDF. Javelin-class Interceptor A recent addition to the Federation Navy and introduced a decade before the war came to an end. The Javelin Interceptor is by far the fastest ship in Federation service. Like it's older siblings, the Javelin can operate both in space and atmosphere with ease. It however, lacks the strengths of ships like the Stardrake, it's hull weaker then most, and can not stand alone in prolonged engagements without proper support. It purpose was purely to destroy much slower target's of it's size or harass the enemy in swarms. @Hael I'm thinking of going half and half in that, some worlds are underpopulated compared to the densely populated Core Worlds such as Earth, this region of space will be my Frontier.
