|In Depth Appearance|Ace is generally well-put together, though when it comes to his (or his family's) level of wealth it's hard not to be. He has distinctly masculine facial features: thick eyebrows, a strong-jawline, a killer smirk and bright, wide grey eyes. Unsurprisingly, his teeth are white, polished and perfect. Often he can seem a little intimidating and, well, starey. He has clear, pale skin except for a few dark, scattered scars up at his hairline where he was glassed three years back.
Standing at 6'3" he's pretty much reached the limit of his height, though is still a little disproportionate and lanky. He's lean instead of well-muscled, and as a result appears to be a bit of a beanpole. His broad shoulders only emphasise the oddness.
|Clothing Style|Typically, Ace wears jumpers of varying colours (usually dusty rose, navy or silver to match his complexion) and over them a real leather biker jacket. Jeans or slacks to match, same goes for shoes β though he does prefer Oxfords or heavy boots. Sometimes, in classes he enjoys, he can be seen with reading glasses but he seems to put up with not being able to see otherwise.

Ace is the type that, if he doesn't go to parties, he would stay in his room and drink all night anyway β just with nobody to slow him down. He is very much aware of his vices but has no intention of stopping them anytime soon, not when it's the only thing his entire persona is built around. He wastes no time in getting in between people squabbling, or a woman getting harassed, but it's not for their benefit β it's so he has something to do with himself, picking fights. Sometimes those he gets aggressive with don't really deserve it; teachers for example. He very much pictures himself as an anti-hero who's going to get his comeuppance one day.
Still, on the other side of things β during the day, mostly β Ace can't help but alienate himself from those around him. He doesn't really mesh with any clique, though sometimes sits with the more unpopular kids, 'taking it upon himself' to give them a friend. He doesn't quite realise that they're often doing the same for him. Ace is very protective of those people, the ones who are important to him, and loyal to the end even though he's cold, brusque and often bitterly sarcastic or melancholic. Not that fun to be around, for someone who's a 'bad boy'.

|History|Ambrose has a twin who is so much more talented than him in every way (at least in his β and his parents' β eyes) that he can't even feel bitter about it. Celine is his darling little sister, though they are of course the same age, and the golden child of their parents. It's not her fault, it never was. Ace, in elementary school, was picked on and bullied for no reason other than his apparent introversion for a few straight years... until his growth spurt hit. When he fought back, earning a handful of suspensions, it didn't stop.
Going into middle school was filled with problems, but he gradually developed a reputation for being the 'bad boy' who was both ahead of his years in maturity and obviously immature to teachers. Around this time he and his sister would visit their grandparents for whole summers at a time, spending time in a lovely, quaint rural area. Those who thought it would be at odds with Ace's rebellious personality were proven wrong: he loved it there. His time there did lessen his existential angst, to a point, though it did still worsen with puberty and alcohol and the wrong crowd.
In high school, several things happened: he fell in love and was promptly destroyed by said love; he discovered a passion for the arts but a hatred for the system and is known for having a meltdown at a teacher who tried to pick on him after answering incorrectly; and, finally, for being out of school for over a week and coming back scarred when he was hit by a bottle at a particularly rough party thrown by upperclassmen.

Celine β Oh how Ace loves his little sister. Her parents might've constantly raised her up as something to aim for, or worship, and he ate it all up without complaint. He's overprotective, sure, but if he ever had jealousy over her talents (and their parents' uneven love) then it's long gone now. He only cares about her opinion.
Mother and Father β Don't talk about them around him. He tends to avoid discussions of parents, because he dislikes his own, and the feeling appears to be mutual. They're workaholics, distant, and didn't have much time to deal with Ace's problems and so forced them on others who would be more willing to help such as his grandparents or teachers or the like.
Grandmother and Grandfather β Ace gets on extremely well with his grandparents, who are old money and live in an old manor (read: castle) in the Scottish Highlands. His grandmother doted (and still dotes on him) as she cultivated a love of old hippie culture and music, whilst his grandfather β a working class man elevated by his wife's inheritance and hard-work β reassured him that he was the same as a kid, unruly, but with a good heart. They are a good influence on him.
