@Aristo Hey so what would you want me to do exactly?

If you think you're more interested in option #2, then the NS just needs some tweaking in wording; replace nation with faction, etc. Some things to note would be where it's headquarters are located and what kinds of ranks/positions it has, and so on.
Since I'm puppeteering the bigwigs of the Church, we'll likely be working closely together: I'll need to shoot you some noted about the church very soon, and add them to the lore.
@HygswitchThere's plenty of coastline open for you on the mainland east of Reheba!
I'm interested in joining.

But first, how rare exactly is magic in this world? Are there monsters? Is it like where only a small handful of people in the world know magic?

From the OP:

The setting is low-fantasy: there is magic, but it is hard to define and even harder to master. Practitioners are few and far in-between, but many have found employment in the courts of kings. However, wizards are also usually the first to bear the brunt of the Ambrusians' wrath when the purge swells. It is a discrete and indirect art - a wizard searching for a wind to manipulate a ship out of a lull looks no different than a devout man at prayer, to the average man. There are also no elves, no dwarves - humanity is supreme, much as in the real world, but there may be fantastical beasts and animals that dwell here.

Think something like the Witcher with less monsters and LOTR-esque magic. Only a few have the knack for it and it is almost beyond comprehension to your average person; yet it is a real and powerful thing.
Sorry, I wanted to post my sheet here in the OOC, but I didn't realize I had the CS tab open. Here it is: roleplayerguild.com/posts/3696514
Posting what I've got; more bio to come:

Vessel Name: Lysander
Vessel Type: Battlecruiser
Vessel Class: Chevalier-class Battlecruiser

Armaments: The Lysander boasts eight massive 'ball turrets,' along its broadside and aft arcs, each housing a three-barreled mass projector. The spherical design of these batteries give them unprecedented ability to rotate 360 degrees and traverse over 180 degrees to threaten both oncoming and broadside targets. These mass projectors are accompanied by smaller autocannon turrets arrayed across the hull. Laser CIWS turrets defend the vessel from warheads and other small threats. To supplement its direct-fire armaments, the battlecruiser has six anti-ship missile batteries.

Onboard vehicles: Chevalier-class battlecruisers have enough space in their launch bays to carry ten small dropships or support craft, and eighteen aerospace fighters. The Lysander's onboard vehicle component is as follows:

  • 4x AS-220 Viper Assault Shuttles.
  • 6x CP-0 Transport Shuttles.
  • 18x Myrmidon Space Superiority Fighters.
  • 36x 'Lifeboats'

Crew: Operation of the Lysander is heavily automated, requiring only a meager crew of 394 enlisted and 99 officers to oversee its functions. 140 marines are stationed on-board the vessel.

Overview: The Lysander is one of several Chevalier-class battlecruisers, designed as a mobile, yet heavily-armed component of Eos' space fleets. They are faster and more maneuverable than dreadnoughts or true battleships, while sacrificing little in the way of armament or protection. Such is their success that they are frequently seen as flagships of task forces and battlegroups. While the class is aging, is remains active as a tried and true component of Eos' navy. The Lysander stretches just over seven-hundred forty meters from bow to stern and weighs about 740,000 tons.
The Lysander is currently acting as the flagship of the 8th Battle Squadron of the Eos Third Fleet. Four other Chevalier-class warships accompany it: the Agamemnon, the Capricious, the Wild Hunt and the Hughes-Davis. Each have identical configurations.

Captain: Lisa Feng-Hayes
Sex: F
Age: 52
Rank: Rear Admiral
Bio: A staunch Eos nationalist, Rear Admiral Lisa Feng-Hayes commands the 8th Battle Squadron of the Third Fleet under the directives of keeping Eos's colonies in line. Her five Chevalier-class battlecruisers patrol Eos-controlled space as a show of force, more than anything; the sight of which is enough to expedite the flow of taxes and material and pacify dissident populations. The Nemesis incident prompted Eos Naval Command to reassign the 8th Battle Squadron, sending it after the rogue ship in support of other Navy task forces.
We seem to be lacking in the heavy-hitting cruiser/battleship department, so I think I'll build one. While it won't start out as part of @Inkdrop's cruiser group, I imagine that the Eos/Earth Navy ships would likely band together once it got hairy.

Was the Nemesis the only vessel to go rouge, or did Vranas take his whole fleet of reverse-engineered ships with him?
Hey @Aristo, I've been done with the history of my nation for some time. I'm absolutely certain I can rewrite a few things, but I am wondering if it is acceptable for Reheba to have been in some regard independent or perhaps fairly autonomous when this empire was still around. Maybe it was an unruly vassal? Whatever's fine with you, I'm just thinking of a few ideas.

That'd be fine with me, considering you're off on an island. I think that we could work with you being a relatively autonomous region, while still being technically a territory of the crown. Depending on how the final turnout is reflected in the map, there will likely be some territories that have been independent. Your kingdom would probably have been and still be an important trade hub up and down the coast.
<Snipped quote by Aristo>I am a PMC or at least part of a PMC so I don't think regular navy units can group with me as my subordinates.
Though I do fantastically in fleet engagements. My ship is a strike frigate which makes it okay even patroling alone but at heart its main job is still to intercept incoming threats and defend a fleet.
If I wish to use modern comparison let's call this a Zumwalt-class without its infamous drawbacks.

Oh phooey, I thought you were GM for some reason, haha But I see someone else is commanding the carrier now. Is your ship somewhere in the thread?
I see three sheets in the CS tab; how many aren't there yet? I'm not sure what class of ship I'll go with, but it seemed that most were smaller, like destroyers and frigates.

@Willy Vereb
Are you in need of more vessels, Rear Admiral?
And hey, I got a question @Aristo. Could we get some basic history/lore stuff? Like when was the Church founded? Stuff that won't really be changed by the nations we end up with.

Yes; I've been working on the lore recently and will add what I have to the OP this evening. I'd originally planned to put the OOC IP after completing all that, but that'd surely have delayed us further.

At the RP's start, the year is 1588. The Fiorentinan faith is a relatively new phenomenon, considering it took hold just some thousand years ago. It existed prior as a decentralized cult, until it became the official religion of the empire that once encompassed the Fiorentinan states. Just 400 years ago, the empire fell and gave birth to our kingdoms as we know them today.
