My Very Brief Bio

Male, 33 years old. (I'm even more dead than before.)

Likes (other than writing and roleplaying): I'm into all genres of music. I love to cook. I love the outdoors, and walking through the park near my house. (Yes, really.) I read a lot of thriller/mystery novels. And I usually watch seasonal anime. (Or cooking shows. Because Western Media provides even fewer things that are worth watching.)

But as for my many other neglected hobbies, I've played basically every sport. (Soccer and Bowling being my favorite of the bunch.) And I'm trying to play more video games. (Going through my never-ending Steam library.) Plus, I've dabbled in making electronic & metal music, and I used to play a number of instruments. (Guitar, French Horn, etc.)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

@Grimhildr Pretty sure they made some kind of response to something you said that was directed at me. There's about 600 pages now, so fuck, maybe I'm wrong. But pretty sure I'm not.

Metal has given me everything under the sun, why can't other genres of music do the same? Not an attack, just a statement. It would just make music more fun in the process...

I'd love a black parade - mcr made into a rap song, that song is dope. :P

It’s pretty much an “unpopular opinions” thread that asks people to defend works they like instead of just nonchalantly saying things are “shit”. So essentially, it provides little profound discussion and instead relies on inflammatory nonsense.

It didn't start out negative at all. And hopefully now that people are calling each other retarded and having NOTHING to do with me. The original creator can grasp the concept of me not being the problem at hand.

Maybe if people took it as a "please tell me why this is good, so I can maybe learn to like it too." Like people genuinely interested in learning more about subjects...and people assumed it wasn't an attack on things they liked. People assuming the worst from each other is borderline misanthropic...and I'd still like to believe everyone's just trying to make new friends and roleplay on this roleplaying site.
@Fabricant451 Well until the whole autistic bit, I'd say you did a fine job. I'd like to think I did the same too. Or at least tried. :/

But we can't have nice things can we?

So let's give it another go. Fresh start and stuff.

Your top five rap artists, least your favorites disregarding actual quality.

Sorry its become a music discussion thread. Better than the alternative.
@Buddha Well like I said, I think metal has mixed a bunch of genres together. Any other genre that exists, metal has a mix of it. Same with lyrics...Actually I'm having a problem liking pure rock as much as I use too back in my kid days when that's all I listened to because I couldn't find enough variety/different musical ideas and concepts.

If I could ever find a Showbread Anorexia / Nervosa albums or an Oh,Sleeper "Children of Fire" level of concept album for a rapper, I'd literally squee.

But, I just feel like in terms of lyrics and music, Metal is where I'll go to find weird shit like Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and Igorrr (who puts goddamn chicken clucking in his songs.) and Devin Townsend singing with epic choirs about cheeseburgers. I need this in my rap music, is what I'm trying to say.

Well, if you ever find them. Share them please. I'd give you all the internet cookies you could imagine. Because I need it in my life. *sheds single tear*
@Inkarnate Hmm, maybe? At least if you consider the long list of genre's in it too. But I don't know I think it could be argued. But there's metal has electronic stuff mixed in it too though...Also lyrically electronica/edm is probably one of the weaker genres in general for lyrical variety.
@Buddha That's fair enough, that verse calling out to other rappers was an important thing to his career. And maybe that helped give him some hype, in a similar way Hopsin doing a similar thing garnered him a bunch of popularity. The reason I say metal is the most expansive because it has tons of genres and influences many more genres on top of that. And has more concept albums that just push the bounds of "a collection of songs" that a lot of albums are. But I will say, I probably listen to as much rap as I do metal now...

As much as I'd freaking love a rap equivalent of Diablo Swing Orchestra or Haggard or Eluveitie, I don't think it exists. :c

Both genres honestly have a lot of similarities at least in public perception. They do probably have the most ways to vocalize the lyrics at hand. Metal incorporating all genres for vocalists and rap having a bunch of different flow methods and such. Often mostly criticized by people unaware of the genre, media saying it has connections to bad actions when most the music is harmless. When people claim to listen to everything, put on "the talky noise" "or the screaming" and suddenly want you to turn it off. Also rap metal is always a glorious guilty pleasure.

Also MF Doom is fun. :3
@Grimhildr Maybe you should just threaten to kill me while you're at it. Will add skin to my bones.
@Dynamo Frokane I'm making a pun that I'm not funny and trolls constantly treat me like shit online...

Not attacking you or anyone the entire conversation and the people still doing it to me. <.<
@Grimhildr Are we just trying to lock the thread at this point? :P
@Dynamo Frokane But it's the new hip thing! JOIN THE LIBERATION MOVEMENT! It's like wombo, I wombo, U wombo. Resistance is futile. Ironically enough.
