My Very Brief Bio

Male, 33 years old. (I'm even more dead than before.)

Likes (other than writing and roleplaying): I'm into all genres of music. I love to cook. I love the outdoors, and walking through the park near my house. (Yes, really.) I read a lot of thriller/mystery novels. And I usually watch seasonal anime. (Or cooking shows. Because Western Media provides even fewer things that are worth watching.)

But as for my many other neglected hobbies, I've played basically every sport. (Soccer and Bowling being my favorite of the bunch.) And I'm trying to play more video games. (Going through my never-ending Steam library.) Plus, I've dabbled in making electronic & metal music, and I used to play a number of instruments. (Guitar, French Horn, etc.)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Assuming I'm reading the question correctly...

The most satisfying things I've probably created were my more or less recent novels, because one helped me get out of a terrible writer's block and the other was the longest piece of fiction I've wrote. Both were enjoyed by my friends who read them, so that was some extra goodness. It's usually quite difficult to get me to even finish projects and spend time on them, as I did with these. And though I've made many songs and finished RP's. I just feel like I got more personal fulfillment getting my solo writing work done.

Question: What is your personal favorite type of character to roleplay/write about?
@KatherinWinter Correct. Least I assume so. More so your idea than mine, but figured that was the case. :P

No, I'm referring to the current cyber warfare programs which nation states operate.

Alright. My mistake. Well...where did you read these problems? Is there a specific instance you're referring to, and do you have anything more to add on the matter?
@KatherinWinter If you too worried about meddling, you can always just go "elsewhere..." and come up with other events or characters that we can return to. I'm open to all ideas, if you want to share.
@KatherinWinter Don't feel bad about that. If you're having trouble coming up with something for that character to do, improvise and create another character if you'd like. (An "NPC" if you know what I mean.) There's plenty that can be done, even if it's something in the environment. I was planning on giving them a chance to speak with one another while traveling to the city. Maybe Bastion can finally get her to warm up to him. ;P
I think there is a serious conversation to be had about cyber capabilities and their employment. It's an obvious force multiplier that allows countries like Russia or DPRNK or Iran to punch above their weight respective to GDP. And these are toys compared to the PLA program. Credible sources like breutbart aside I think we are all going to be dealing with this issue in a big way over the next few years.

My bias and the sites I like that display their narrative is different, because it agrees with my bias aside. What exactly are we talking about here? Are we discussing a robot taking over the world narrative? If we're having a serious discussion about this, we should probably start from somewhere concrete, no?

Various articles discussing all sides of this...

I'm not any kind of expert but I have heard/read multiple reports that Cyber terrorism will be the next huge problem most 1st world nations will face.

Posting those things, may be useful for ones curious to read and learn themselves. ^-^ I myself posted links above discussing cyber terrorism, with seemingly less fearful opinions.

(And before the inevitable c*nt cries to me about having about my own opinions. Which is separated from the replies mind you...)

It's clear that current AI is vastly underwhelming and is nowhere near the level of a human's abilities and the current market trying to add automation into low paying jobs, like kiosks for fast food and auto-check out lanes in grocery stores. Their slow as sh*t and they don't work as intended half the time. And they also don't remove jobs, they merely swap the demand for certain jobs. Someone still needs to maintain, set them up, etc etc. I think this is a "running out of real world problems, because of how much we've advanced and improved the world" discussion.
*awkwardly coughs for a while*

So has anyone actually brought any non-talking points up that people want to discuss? Can anyone actually discuss something without snark and lack of backing evidence? I don't see a whole lot of links or sources myself. It's okay, I'll wait...

*Tosses this in the thread and awaits denial*

So basically one democrat, whose an Assistant Secretary of "Cybersecurity and Communications" is claiming this and in that article, it even points out the states themselves deny it and that the officials admit there's no actual evidence that any of the registration rolls were altered in any fashion. *does a few seconds more of research after typing.*

It's also an 8 month old story their passing off as breaking news. Oops, NBC.
