My Very Brief Bio

Male, 31 years old. (So I'm practically dead, as we speak.)

Likes (other than writing and roleplaying): I'm into all genres of music. I love to cook. I love the outdoors, and walking through the park near my house. (Yes, really.) I read a lot of thriller/mystery novels. And I usually watch seasonal anime. (Or cooking shows. Because Western Media provides even fewer things that are worth watching.)

But as for my many other neglected hobbies, I've played basically every sport. (Soccer and Bowling being my favorite of the bunch.) And I'm trying to play more video games. (Going through my never-ending Steam library.) Plus, I've dabbled in making electronic & metal music, and I used to play a number of instruments. (Guitar, French Horn, etc.)

My 1X1 Interest Check: SleepingSilence's Tavern (Want 1x1 RP's? Please come in.)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

@Briza Preemptive congrats on your win. Call me Nostradamus. :P

What defines one's identity? Your soul? Your heart? Your memories? Co-founders Sebastian Sullivan and Taku Yamamoto used those burning questions to fuel the immensely popular and ever-evolving alternative reality MMORPG; Project Eternal Entities. Unfortunately, it was soon after completing their dream that Mr. Sullivan was apart of a terrible traffic accident that caused him to become hospitalized and remain isolated from prying eyes. Failing to comment on widespread rumors that he’d deteriorated to a vegetative state which compelled him to assume the mantle of a permanent administrator dwelling only inside his creation and forever abandoning the real world...

Making interviews with his equally brilliant and private colleague the 'Holy Grail' to The Press. That fateful day happened to simultaneously celebrate the anniversary of the game's launch and his 42nd birthday as Mr.Yamamoto graced the largest network with his presence for a live event to give out an important announcement. But it was clear that something was wrong from the way his glazed eyes stared up at nothing and his voice sounded borderline monotone, an antithesis of his previous exuberant nature. Nearly infamous from how dull the conversation was from this generation’s supposed second most sought after individual. But the last segment was one that everyone remembered...

Interviewer: "You’ve talked about your past and what brought you so close to a young man you happened to chat with in an online forum that you ended up moving in together. Which, for you, meant risking everything by leaving it behind. But what inspired you specifically to make this virtual world?"

Taku Yamamoto: “Since the beginning of existence, men have been fascinated with a higher power. Desperately clinging to their desires to find omnipotence; they dived down the darkest depths into the vastest oceans and soared far beyond the clouds. But humanity was daunted by the insurmountable task they set upon themselves. Outstretching their theories like reaching out for a specific star among a hundred billion that comprised the universe."

"Nowadays, playing God and creating our own universes proved to be more enticing endeavors. Our future flourished under the few that delivered us the greatest advancements in technology. So when the virtual headset market recently exploded into popularity and became a target for mass consumption due to our business. I’ll always feel humbled that I’m partially responsible for a hundred billion dollar industry. More importantly, a vital human experience galvanizing fans across the globe to participate in it together. I cannot thank you all enough, even if I had two lifetimes to do it in...”

Interviewer: "...Do you believe you’ve played god?"

Mr.Yamamoto shared his first genuine expression with a slight smile and a fit of laughter. He stood up from his interviewing chair and clenched his heart with both hands. “Undoubtedly, I’ve thwarted what should be anyone’s greatest fear. Death itself. I’ve discovered the path to immortality—” With those words he almost instantaneously collapsed forward and off camera as he plummeted to the ground. The broadcast shut off and he was pronounced dead the following morning. Nobody was certain what he’d planned on announcing, speculated to have gone crazy because of worsening early-onset Alzheimer's. But Project Eternal Entities only continued to thrive, especially for those also seeking the infinite. In this case; a happier life amidst a shelter of ones' most precious memories...

Our journey begins on an early afternoon, inside a suburban cul-de-sac within an upstairs bedroom in a sizable two story home. A bright pink convertible parked into their stone driveway, shaded underneath the big oak tree in their yard. Getting out of the driver’s side and carrying several plastic bags filled with groceries in both arms as she quickly approached the front door. She knocked with her foot, repeatedly kicking against the door before letting out a defeated sigh. Setting all the bags down on the “Welcome Home” mat, as she begrudgingly retrieved her keys still inserted in the ignition.

“My brother is still playing that VR game?” She grumbled to herself, pulling out her kitten keychain with haste and rushing up to unlock the front door. "What’s the odds he’ll come downstairs to help me get the heavier thing out of the backseat?”

The door swung open as she took off her shoes and placed them neatly on the designated floor mat. She called out by holding her hands up to her mouth like a megaphone. “Enzo! Come downstairs, please! Your sister needs you!” Casually turning her head back to notice a pair of chittering squirrels descending the tree and prancing toward her open car door. She squeed in abrupt panic and dashed off toward her car, leaving the front door ajar. “You little rat bastards better not swipe my honey cashews again!”

Meanwhile...
Title: The Anamnesis Of Your Avatar

Premise Details: Slowly losing your memories of the real world. Wandering like a ghost wearing a suit of flesh and bone, while you searched for your mind. A virtual reality MMO was your last vestige of your recollected past. A sanctuary you built documenting everything that you had ever remembered put somewhere for you to read and recall the thoughts you had lost. You had a family and many friends, coworkers that all tried to help outside...but you only even recalled their names by opening a treasure chest in a video game. Once that helmet came off your head, you were just a hollow shell of yourself. Perhaps, it was best to leave that world behind and dwell in the realm of the virtual forever...at least until dinner.

Current Status (& Meaning)

[ ✔ ] Open For Business (I'm aching and ready to RP.)
[ ] Limited Hours (I'm warning upfront that I'll be slow.)
[ ] Under Repairs (On hold due to IC changes being made.)
[ ] Closed (I'm in enough RP's or dealing with IRL issue.)

I'm a 31 year old male. I've been roleplaying for the past decade and a half. Though I've been writing as early and often as my life allows me. I've always been interested in trying new things, while improving my craft and potentially helping others thrive in my hobby. I live in Eastern Standard Time and on my own. So my life is generally content, without any severe burdens. (And the reason you might care, is that you won't see me using school, work, or anything else as a frequent excuse for my slowness.)

I'm a verbose fellow and enjoy dabbling in artistic prose. I love writing and partaking in dark and dramatic stories, where violence and psychological tension is my bread and butter. Though my own preferences are incredibly broad, free-form and far from elitism. As I'm willing to roleplay just about any idea proposed to me, if I believe it could lead to an engaging roleplay. Since I write entirely to improve myself through practice, and be rewarded with new experiences. (Meaning I'm eager to do free, casual and advanced settings. Using PM's, threads, Discord, Google Docs or wherever else.)

Plus, I'm perfectly capable of leading (creating the vast majority of the world/characters/narrative decisions) and following along with whatever my partner has in mind. Though I'm also grateful to do a cohesive mixture with my partner(s). But I prefer having an equal input, at the very least. Based on many past experiences of others fearing to be a storyteller, or driving their own plotlines straight off a cliff.

For purely legal reasons for me and all involved, please be 18+. (Sorry, kiddos. Good luck elsewhere.) I require communication and activity. Meaning I'll likely alert you preemptively when I'm busy and when I have plans, and I expect you to do the same with the best of your ability. Out of character discussion is welcome and preferable. The amount of posts and variances in schedules can be determined through planning. As I'm simply looking for effort above all else. So if you're capable of using spellcheck and trying to write as coherently as possible, you're good! (Though I might ask you for a writing sample, if I can't already look at your roleplaying history, and get a good enough sense of your activity/skill level.)

Disclaimer: These aren't the only fandoms that I'm familiar with. So don't hesitate to inquire about others. Same applies to the ideas inside, as these are merely examples of my creative ability. Though I prefer original characters only. Very limited on In-Canon characters. (Will also likely be adding more fandoms and ideas in due time...)

Disclaimer: These aren't the only genres that I'm familiar with. So don't hesitate to ask about others. Same applies to the ideas inside. Genre-mixing is perfectly acceptable. (Will also be adding more genres and ideas in due time...)

Disclaimer: Don't exactly have an extensive list, because this isn't my forte. But this is my olive branch extending to those interested in romance and/or smut roleplays. Nearly any of the examples could be altered. So feel free to ask about different pairings. But I need an actual plot regardless. I'm also used to the weird. So the more bizarre the situation, the better it is at keeping my interest. I'd prefer MXF relationships...but you can ask anyway. (Though the sex I play doesn't really matter to me. The 'gritty' details can be discussed further in PM's. (Will probably expand upon the list and update ideas in time...)

Disclaimer: The levels of roleplay don't really have much to do with the wordcount to me. At least, it's not the only factor that's relaxant. 'Free' will often have the shortest word counts per post. But 'Casual' doesn't have to be any larger than 'Advanced'. I'd consider 'Advanced' for people more capable of writing actual prose and trying to be experimental. (Going beyond the words themselves, and maybe having a more expansive vocabulary.) But I don't expect all typos and minor inaccuracies to ever truly be gone, as everyone makes mistakes. Best you can do is be made aware of them and correct them when able to.

1. If you PM me to express your interest, I will actually answer you. (Yes, you will not always get that. Or the rest of these.)

2. If you ask me a question concerning any specifications regarding an RP, I'll actually try to answer them succinctly as possible.

3. I will keep the status (of my general availability) updated with accurate information. So you won't need to waste time expressing interest, when I'm not taking new RP's or wonder if I am accepting new requests.

4. If you PM an idea that wasn't specifically listed on my many lists. I won't bite your head off. (Though I may still give a polite, "No, thank you.")

5. I will not bump this thread to pimp it out, when I'm already full of RP's. Nor more than once every 24 hours after it disappears from the front page. No attention whoring here.

6. I won't make multiple interest checks to unnecessarily and artificially spread out my content. (Because I want to prove I can keep track of content and be responsible.)

7. If you have just general questions or advice you'd like to PM me about, regarding this interest check. I'd be happy to listen to all constructive information. (And I'll likely respond if it is.)

You ask why? Simple. I value your time, as much as my own.

A kind reminder to please avoid posting in this thread for interest or advice. PM only if you're interested in anything. Would like to keep the place clean for the next customer! Feel free to contact me through Discord instead. (Darkcosic#7025)

@Frizan On that note, I know you've (or the runners of the forum) have already tried adding more people to create contests...but perhaps, recruit potential interested (and actually) active members to help you out? ^-^' Couldn't see the harm in it at least...
I will probably never have an Instagram. Because I've never liked taking pictures of myself. (Or my food.) Yet I've always been fine with video chatting and otherwise.
@Frizan Reviews/Voting Section? :3
@13org Okay, so where would you like our characters to meet? I'm thinking maybe a potential collab? Let me know how that may work out. Maybe my character will somehow need to seek you out, maybe even during your time together with the other character.

And as for the updated version of the plot line. I'll work on creating something eventually. (It's not super important atm.)
