@voteforpandaa, sure, I think there's room. If you haven't read the interest check, here's the link with some basic criteria. Here's the OP for the OOC as well for convenience. The second OOC post is a CS with a few guidelines. Look through the Characters tab to see everyone on the mech team (AKA Lance) and see how your character can fit in, team-composition-wise.

So far we have a 1. melee stealth assassin, 2. ranged support-tank, 3. short-to-medium ranged initiation tank, and 4. long-ranged heavy bombardment artillery.

So one issue that needs to be addressed is all pilots were supposed to congregate at a certain location (the space elevator of the planet Pythagoras) and were then ferried to the carrier, the carrier will then make a hyperspace jump in 12 hours. Since your character was not there at the time, we would need to come up with a reason for that. I can think of three that would work: 1. for whatever reason, your character knew they wouldn't make the meeting, but will arrive a few hours later than the others but make it to the carrier in time for the hyperspace jump, 2. your character previously had another profession within the fleet (technician, medic, scientist, etc.) and is accustomed to arriving on the ship with others of the same profession, this time, in a ferry that would come just a bit later than the pilots. Of course, you can use any valid reason you can think of, 3. your character is at the jump destination and will be picked up when the carrier arrives.

It will probably be better if you get your character onto the carrier sooner rather than later so you don't have to wait as long to RP.

What's a TAFE? In America, 'college' generally refers to education above high school, for example community colleges and universities. I don't don't know if vocational schools, trade schools or adult schools count as college or not.

I'm fine doing posts without our characters interacting for a while.

Eponine looked upwards again, hoping Violetta would join her, but her anticipation was not answered. Eponine noted the slight damage her thrown hammers had done, which was somewhat expected. She swatted away two incoming icicles with her hammer, and activated her shield to defend from the rest. Eponine decided she needed to gain some height and started running along the ice columns interspersed within the sphere. She moved with more confidence and recklessness, since a mistake would only drop her to the bottom of the ball, instead of plummeting into the sky eternally. She also couldn't afford to be as slow as she was in the inverted trees or else the witch would be able to get some good hits on her, and Eponine was already feeling her soul gem darken from continued activation of her shield. As she tried to reach higher ground, Eponine tried to be smarter about avoiding the witch's icicle attacks, by hiding behind columns and dodging rather than relying too heavily on her shield.

Once she was directly above the witch, she jumped down at it feet first, making her hammers longer and their heads bigger. She held her arms out horizontally, and once she was about to hit the witch, swung her hammers downward so that each hammerhead would connect at the same time her feet struck the closest thing that could resemble the witch's head. In this moment where her feet and the hammerheads impacted simultaneously, she activated her shield's rejection ability, multiplying the force of the impact. While her feet transferred force down vertically on the witch's head, the hammers, which swung in opposite arcs, dealt force horizontally, but on both sides of the witch's head, creating a three-way crushing force. Eponine bent her knees, crouching on top of the witch and surveyed the damage. If Byrea was about to retaliate, Eponine was already crouched and ready to leap off the witch at a moment's notice. If the witch was stunned, but not yet defeated, Eponine would press the offensive.

"I'm glad you think that way too," Tera said, but then she became a little self-conscious, "S-sorry, I didn't mean to slander anyone behind their back or anything. Like the lieutenant, I hope we can all work together."

"I've traveled by hyperspace a few times, my university wasn't on the planet where I was born and raised," Israfil said. That being the case, on those previous trips Israfil had never got to see what was on the outside of a ship traveling through hyperspace until today on the training mission. "Let's go to one of the outer hallways, find one that actually has windows." He wanted to show Mike the hyperspace barrier separating 'real' space from hyperspace.

Shelley stood in front of her locker at the end of the school day, taking any materials she would need for weekend assignments and leaving behind anything she wouldn't need. It had been a bad week. She had found a strange parchment and the people in her class created a rumor of how the mysterious note came for a psychopathic stalker. Before people usually ignored her, but now she had a lot of unwanted attention, and could only hope for everything to blow over. Still, as silly as the rumor sounded, the possibility of being stalked put her on edge and made her feel unwell and slightly paranoid. Out of a strange fear, Shelley hadn't yet thrown the parchment away, which spawned another ludicrous rumor that she actually wanted to meet her stalker. She closed her locker and hoped that everything would be back to normal after the weekend and the class' short attention span would find something else to latch on to.

As she made to head out of school, an older student stood in front of her. "Are you Shelley Cao?" Jonathan Hyre asked, mispronouncing 'Cao' as 'cow' instead of correctly as 'tsao', which is what everyone did anyways.

Shelley nodded weakly and replied, "Y-yes..."

"I heard you got a strange parchment," Jonathan said.

"I-I did. It's not from you...is it?" Shelley asked, shifting backwards apprehensively.

"No, no. I got one too, so have others," Jonathan replied, trying to calm Shelley, knowing that the rumors surrounding her parchment involved a stalker. "I take it you don't know anything about the parchment then?"

"I don't," Shelley replied.

Jonathan decided to be blunt, "Everyone I've talked to doesn't know anything about these parchments, so I wanted to gather everyone together tomorrow at 2PM, right here at this school." Sensing a bit of emotional vulnerability, Jonathan dialed up the pressure a little, "Everyone's going to be there, so if you don't come we'll all have wasted our time. You'll come, right?"

"I-I..." Shelley hesitated. She had planned on finishing her homework quickly and vegetating the rest of the weekend. But she was also a little curious. Maybe the whole thing was just an elaborate prank, but maybe at least after Saturday, the rumors would finally stop. "Y-yeah, I'll be there..."

"Great! I'll see you at 2!" Jonathan said as he went on his way.

"He didn't even introduce himself," Shelley thought, feeling suddenly a little used.

That's interesting, never heard of such a system before. In America, we have preschool (optional), then elementary school is kindergarten, and first through 5th grade (6 years); middle is 6th through 8th grade (three years), and high is 9th through 12th (four years). How many years of elementary and middle school do you have in Australia? I also know that other countries sometimes use the terms grammar school and primary school, which I don't really know what that means.

"Not at all, if anything, I should speak up more often," Tera replied. "I guess, on the previous topic, I can see why your cog would have the ability to repair other cogs based on your personality. Which makes me worry a bit about Solomon; both his psychic power and his cogs ability imply a desire to control. To be honest, I don't feel very comfortable around him, and it will be difficult for me to trust him. I haven't seen enough of Israfil, or either of our commanding officers or their cogs to see the correlation between their personalities and their cogs."

"Israfil chuckled a bit, feeling relaxed, and finding it Mike's lack of preparation kind of funny. "I don't know," Israfil mused for a bit, trying to think of something. His mind wandered back to the training mission, and he remembered what he saw of the hyperspace bubble outside. "Have you ever traveled in hyperspace before?"

American high schools use the grade system and are actually 4 year institutions, going from grade 9 to 12, and are sometimes referred to as freshman (9th grade), sophomore (10th), junior (11th), and senior (12th). (I know a lot of countries following the British system like Japan and Taiwan have three year high schools, so America is slightly unusual in that regard. Feel free to change some of the character's ages if you would like) That being said, I'll probably stick Shelley in the 9th grade which will add to the fact that she doesn't know Hoenhime.

I like the one year time skip arc idea. Who knows how our characters will develop. As a heads up, I plan to have Shelley tread a dark path (not necessarily evil, but more about coming to terms with having power, using power accidentally to ill effects, making irreversible mistakes and having to live with them, abusing power when cornered or desperate, etc.)

OK, Shelley will probably go along with it depending on her mood and who's involved. Should our characters already know each other or should they just sort of 'know of' each other but not really (I was complete strangers with people in my grade back in high school so it's not a big issue). I'll probably not take too much control of NPC's for the most part, but thanks for the permission.
