I'll be going on a two week vacation starting tomorrow and don't know how often I'll have Internet access. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be more regular when I get back.

Blue Harbor Nuclear Power Plant, located on the coast equidistant from the two major metropolises, Valle Dorado and Angel City, in an effort to maximize the distance to either city in the event of an accident. Considered a state-of-the-art facility, Blue Harbor provides energy to both cities, and is the home of advanced nuclear power research.

"Breaking news, an explosion rocked Blue Harbor Nuclear Power Plant 10 minutes ago at 3PM, we are getting a news chopper on the scene; Steve, are you there?"

"Hi, Janet, we've arrived on the scene. Authorities are issuing a radioactive hazard warning, we are unsure of one of the reactors is going critical or not. There's a lot of smoke in the air, so we can't see much from the chopper, but what seems most unusual is there appears to be a path of destruction leading away from the plant; Harry, can you zoom in for a closer look?"

As the shot magnifies, a lone, bearded, white male figure in nothing but underwear seems to be swatting at nothing, looking around in a daze. Suddenly, the figure looks up at the helicopter and bellows, "SHUT UP!!!", before the image is replaced by static. Janet, the news anchor has a look of shock on her face. Turning to her assistant anchor she asks, "W-was that?"

"I-I think so...the supercriminal, Meltdown," he replied, gulping.

Janet looked back at the camera, "Well, you heard it here first," turning back to her assistant, "I hope Steve and harry are OK."

The assistant looks back, "Yeah, I hope some heroes show up at the scene soon."
I'm thinking of doing another quick time skip to the next mission, unless you want some things to happen. Also, the weird call came from Asteria. The AI is slowly becoming intelligent and is trying to reach out, just some foreshadowing.
Some strange noise came on the drive but quickly cut out. It was soon followed by a second message notifying Claire that her drive was being accessed by an unknown source, that steps are being taken to locate the source, and that as an added security measure, Claire should probably doublecheck her drive authentication.
Sorry for the delay, I'll get the IC started tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. I realized I don't need to finish every NPC to start.
As soon as Asteria booted up, Claire started getting a call from an unknown number on her drive. There were also minor details of the Cog OS boot-up that were slightly different.
Just to be clear, when people said, "That guy's an asshole", they were actually referring to Solomon.
The four ships comprising the Destiny Squadron set a course to the edge of Horizon territory, a journey that would take about a day in hyperspace. The ships came together into formation and synchronized their Tachyon Harps. In a flash, the ships were gone, now traveling through hyperspace in a bubble of 'real' space. The bubble would exit hyperspace once they reached their destination. If anyone looked outside a window, they would see the iridescent boundary that encapsulated the four ships.

At the end of their 12 hours of free time, the cog pilots were all ordered to report to the hangar. Pharazon stood before the pilots. "The squadron is currently headed to the border between Horizon and the FAS. As you probably know, the region is very unstable, with militant groups, pirates and rebels, and the FAS is suspected of trying to destabilize the region for political and military gains. Our squadron will be patrolling the area, which should be a good test-bed for our cogs. Though our presence alone should be enough to deter some groups, armed military intervention will be required for others. This will be a great chance to train your skills as pilots, and test the capabilities of your cogs. But before we arrive, we should do some basic training before you see some real action. At the very least, you all should be comfortable with piloting your cogs, and be able to launch via catapult as well as returning to the carrier. We might even do some mock combat training if you all are up for it. Any questions?"
Cool. I'm guessing it's going to have scanners/sensors? So if it's not clear, this RP is sort of a 'build your dream mech' RP, and I'm allowing ridiculous power levels, the only catch is that your mechs will start simple and evolve from there. So feel free to let me know what you hope your mech will be capable of in the future.

For the time being, I'm going to have the carrier and accompanying ships enter hyperspace so the other pilots can get their first experience piloting their cogs. When the ships leave hyperspace, they will arrive at the planet your pilot is on and pick you up.
I guess they're P-NPCs, I'm gonna use them to push the plot along but character development will mostly be for the player's characters. I'm not really sure how to work NPC's, letting other players control characters unless those characters are so insignificant as to not matter. Or maybe I'm a control freak.
What's a P-NPC, and how is it different from a PC?

I've got a plan. A good villain always has a plan. But yeah, I'll definitely be sure to touch base with you when something's going down.
