Cassie watched with a trained, professional, fake smile as Mr. and Mrs. Parr left on their dinner date. Even though she saw Mr. Incredible as someone who had, in the past, been a reckless vigilante, she wasn't going to let her personal feelings get in the way of doing her job. If anything, she should thank Mr. Parr and his lawsuit for bringing to light the issues of reckless endangerment during crime fighting and superhero accountability. She was glad to be a part of this program; she still saw superhero activity as a necessity, albeit an unfortunate one thanks to the continued existence of super crime, but felt that it needed to be reined in by public forces. While this was her first assignment, Cassie felt it was symbolic of their future: their task was to supervise an extremely dangerous super. Perhaps this indicated the Bureau's ambition to supervise all supers, something Cassie believed in strongly. After all, 'Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?', 'who guards the guardians?'

Cassie observed as Rebekah took the lead in occupying Jack-Jack's attention. Cassie was content to take a backseat and let the younger members do their thing, besides Cassie wasn't very good with children. She remembered, with some guilt, an incident where she was watching a colleague's child. The child had started acting up so Cassie used her power to imitate the mother's voice. That had only served to freak the child out even more.

Cassie sat down on the couch in the living room and turned the TV on to a news channel. She wouldn't pay the child too much attention, but she would remain present, observant, and available, making sure to keep her super-hearing focused as well as send out echolocating pings should the child wander out of her vision.
Interested!
Hey I saw this and think it's super interesting. I don't want to be "that guy" but I want to ask if you could make an exception for a character I had in mind.

You said that the Church outlaws AI. considering the church has been steeped in a certain degree of corruption, scriptural hypocrisy seems like it would be a thing. What if the church created an AI, initially a search algorithm for maintaining, cataloging and storing documents and records that developed emergent intelligence. Upon discovering the algorithms unexpected intelligence, the Church made an exception and labeled it an "impartial and unbiased tool", a "pure machine through which God's work can be done". They set it at first to tasks of arbitration, taking on and assisting with difficult legal cases. Then they set it to matters of surveillance, letting it become the "All-Seeing Eye" of the Church. At this point the AI would become this RP's equivalent of Varys the Spider, master of a clandestine spy network. It would be immobile, restricted to a large server room within the Church's grand temple with only an interface console to interact with select members of the clergy.

To play this character, I would interact very closely with the GM in order to determine what pieces of information I have access to, but I think it would be a great vessel through which intrigue and blackmail could occur.

What think?
@TheUnknowable Question: is there a limit to the number of super-genes that a person derives their powers from?

I assumed two genes, ala Mendelian allele inheritance.

EDIT: AKA One from the Mother, One from the Father
Shakti watched the conversation between the costumed girls with avid interest, trying to tease out the pecking order from their interactions. She noticed Delia dismiss her weapon magically, in fact, she noted unique weapons belonging to each of the girls and wondered if she should expect something similar for herself in the near future.

When the portal was opened, Shakti went inside without complaint, she knew she was not in control and being dragged around, but it wasn't something a little patience could overcome. When they arrived at Delia's garden, the girls began introducing themselves. Always the eager one, Camila introduced herself first after the hosts. Shakti decided to go next, not too eager, but definitely not too reluctant. Despite her rather inappropriate manner of dress, Shakti kept her dignity and poise. "Shakti Subramaniam," she introduced herself simply, hoping to get the formalities out of the way.
I'd like to be part of this! I'll have a character up in a bit.
Shakti looks at Winnie with a certain, friendly smugness. "Thank you," she said, "I will do as you suggest." She takes Winnie's blazer and puts it on while wrapping the jumper around her waist. "It reminds me of my own uniform. And don't worry about the shoes, we walk around barefoot quite a bit in India."

Then the shadows started multiplying and coming from the ground and everywhere. The streaks of light came down, decimating the shadows and revealing themselves to be girls as well. When Camila answered as to who who ate the shade's flesh, Shakti nodded in agreement. "Yes, I partook of the flesh," she said, "And I do believe it was at her suggestion," Shakti added looking at Cleo who she recognized possibly as the voice she had heard in her head. She stared at the one in green, who seemed almost unhappy that the ones who ate had done as asked. Shakti wasn't about to apologize nor take the blame for just doing what she was told. Besides, it felt so good she didn't regret it one bit.
Shakti convulsed as power and pain coursed through her body. Shakti tried to maintain her composure because somehow, in the back of her mind, she had expected this. Her body burst suddenly with heat, leaving her maked, but with intense clarity of mind. She stood up slowly, looking at her hand. Though her hand hadn't changed at all, it felt different. She felt reborn. Samsara. Though she had succumbed to the desire to gorge herself on the demon flesh, she managed to prevent herself from succumbing to the urge to go berserk and attack the shades. She simply stood there in her nude confidence; watching and hearing them flee in terror was enough for her right now. She also half-expected the same voice that instructed her to eat the dark flesh to now also give her a rundown of what she was now capable of. After all, it would be unbecoming to clumsily fumble with powers she knew nothing about.

Shakti turned to Camila and gave a slightly unsettling smile, "Yes, we should press forward, but first," she turned to look at Katerina's violent rampage, "we should let her finish."
