Either she shows up exactly like how she does in person, as in it is based on perception (and we hand wave or even lean into how that makes no sense), or the footage gets corrupted because human tech just can't handle Tirmin tech. Either way things get even more eldritch this way which is fun.

Given that your the one who's char is going to see her through em first, what do you think would be more interesting? I'm also generally up for cool ideas here if anyone has em

Sorry, I hit post before I was done. So I hope this doesn't come off sounding like I am intentionally having my character "counter" your character in some way, but because I assume illusion magic exists in this world, my character's mask was going to allow her to see with her eyes as well as provide her with a camera feed of what she's looking at in an attempt to circumvent potential illusions (Eileen is a super genius and is full of potential contingencies). That said, I think corrupted data not only makes slightly more sense, it also gives my character a hint without fully revealing your character's secret. This would also answer the question of what if a machine intelligence or robot was looking at Stalker.

Also, I am in no way trying to force it one way or the other and will RP in such a way as would respect Stalker's mysteriousness and general unknowability.

• Blast Bludgeon: A long, bat-like triangular rod that functions like a tuning fork. Eileen uses this to triangulate the harmonic frequencies of objects she strikes with it. After several strikes, she is able to determine the vibrational frequency that is most destructive to the particular material she is striking. She already knows what frequency works best for concrete and bone-through-flesh.
• O.M.N.I.A.C.: Budding artificial sentience that operates as Eileen's 'Jarvis'.

Eileen was always quiet and obedient and went through her life as a model citizen. Her powers developed early, but were fairly weak, allowing her to hone them safely and with no major incidents. Her powers blossomed alongside her pursuit of knowledge regarding the scientific and mathematical properties of light and sound. Despite her powers, Eileen focused on her education, which bore fruit and allowed her to achieve a high-profile academic career doing research into optronics. Eileen plans to make artificial intelligence based on optronic hardware, which would be significantly faster than conventional electronics. Yet it became clear to her, that having a well-paying job and living a life of relative comfort helped no one but herself. She saw the injustices that plagued the world and finally resolved to do something about it. But she could do little on her own. She needed to find a team and use her skills to furnish them with weapons, armor and technology.

Storylines:

• Find your people: When it comes to superheroics, Eileen is a newbie. She needs to find a team and prove herself to them so that they will allow her to join.
• Bling out the best in them: As Eileen comes to understand her allies' strengths and weaknesses, she will be better able to make tools to augment their abilities.
• Bling out the best in yourself: Eileen will eventually develop an Iron Man-like power armor for herself, eliminating one of her major weaknesses and allowing her to stand alongside her allies.
• Crime fighting does not true justice make: Surprise! Eileen is actually a potential villain character. She blames most of the suffering in this world on corporations' greed and nations' imperialistic ambitions, the few fattening themselves up from the plight of others. She hopes to find a like-minded group of superheroes who will do what must be done to overturn the current world order by deposing all the rulers and oligarchs to usher in a new golden age for humanity. Some of her teammates might find her ideals appealing, some may find them too extreme. Likely there will be a civil war.

ATLA Interest?

I'd love to hear more about this. Have you read any of the Chronicles of the Avatar books? I haven't myself but I was doing a bit of research on the concept of soundbending after you mentioned it and it's something that apparently avatar Yangchen might have developed well before Aang's era even. My only concern basically is how the whole apostate thing comes about, admittedly I don't know enough on air nomad lore myself.

I have not read the Chronicles of the Avatar, so I wasn't aware that soundbending already existed.

His apostasy happens due to several factors. One of his parents is a toymaker, inculcating him with a desire for 'efficiency of craft'. He didn't realize he had airbending capability until he was a little older than most, so he joined the air temple as a young adult instead of as a child, so he did not absorb their teachings from a young age. he was seen as something of a slacker, since he ignores 'discipline' and 'training'; if he already 'knew' how to do something, he didn't see the point of repeating the same motion a hundred times. He discovers soundbending and starts experimenting with it, which initially amazes his teachers. But when it came time for him to find an air bison partner, he emits a sound that is alien to the air bisons, scaring them. Since air bisons are sacred, this worries the air temples and they ask him to temporarily cease his activities. At this point, he has become obsessed with his new technique and continues developing it in secret. To test soundbending's efficacy as a martial art, he purchases animal carcasses and skeletons and practices on them, while also making 'soundbending tools', ie. musical instruments (using techniques he learned from his toymaker parent) which require animal parts. This violates the airbender's tenet of valuing the sanctity of life; even though he did not kill these creatures himself, he is financially contributing to their slaughter and using their parts in unceremonious and somewhat grotesque ways. This gets found out, which only cements the idea that soundbending is an evil practice in the eyes of his teachers. In an act of defiance, he shaves his head, declaring himself a master of his own school, has a confrontation at the air temple with his former masters, and steals one of the temple bells before apostating, becoming a deviant and hermit.

ATLA Interest?

I might be interested in this. I had come up with a character that I was never able to use, so I'd like to use him here, but I want to make sure it's not too out of line.

He is an air nomad who started experimenting with sound as an aspect of air, developing his own form of bending. But he took it too far and was labeled an apostate for violating certain tenets.
