I'll be going on a two week vacation starting tomorrow and don't know how often I'll have Internet access. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be more regular when I get back.

"Why must everything be a transaction?" Junkojuro said with a chuckle, his tone still light and friendly. "In return for being your teacher, I will have a student. If this must be a transaction, it will be a simple as that. Besides, I am afraid that I would not be qualified to accept any form of payment for my tutoring. You see, I have never taught a mortal before, so this will be a learning experience for both of us." He smiled brightly through his admission of ignorance. "Neither have I witnessed the ways in which priests teach their disciples since my kind is not welcome within their walls. So, Kanaka-san, I hope that I can live up to your expectations as well, and be a teacher that you will never turn away from."

"I hope you do not take this the wrong way, but the general belief is that Youkai are dangerous and self-serving, and that to engage with one is to make a deal," Kanaka said, "Though the way I see, it's self-projection, we humans are selfish and greedy, and seek to profit from every encounter, even with that which we do not understand, and place the guilt on the spirits. Isn't this the case between the two of us? I came to you seeking help and ultimately, power, and you reciprocate with genuine concern and sincere interest. If nothing else, making a transaction may perhaps alleviate me of the shame and guilt of my one-sided avarice. However, if you insist, I will accept your graciousness with humility."

"I will never turn away from you. I hope to learn as much as I can, and I hope that in turn, there will be something that you can learn from me, though I cannot promise or boast of such a possibility. And if there is ever anything you need or wish for, I will do everything in my power to provide it." Kanaka looked back towards the main hall. "Perhaps I should be getting back. It is likely that Ryuunosuke has begun seeing the envoys, and without a doubt, some of them are waiting to be seen. As the sister of the Clan Leader, I probably have a responsibility to entertain the guests while they wait."
OK, so Rin and Dblade26, characters accepted.

Lost Cause and ReaptheMusic, feel free to submit supporting characters. If you two want to be magical girls/boys, do not fret, you may become in the future as the RP progresses. Just let me know if you would like to.

I am also officially closing applications, we'll start the RP when Lost Cause and ReaptheMusic have submitted characters.

EDIT: I just now realized the easter egg behind the name, "Turtle Destruction Wave".
"OK, I'll give it a try," YingJue said. She piloted the Gundam Mk.V out and took a few shots with her beam rifle, which the Victory Gundams dodged easily. She sent out the only two INCOMs that the suit had in order to surround one of the AI suits, but they wouldn't allow themselves to be surrounded by the wired weapons. YingJue wished she had more INCOMs but proceeded; she tried shooting the Victory's with both the INCOM's and her beam rifle, but with only three beams coming out, they were easily dodged. Yingjue was used to completely inundating her opponents with beams so this was very frustrating. She tried firing repeatedly, alternating between the INCOMs and her rifle to throw the AI off, but it was no use. She fired simultaneously instead and noticed something that she probably should have noticed before. All three beams intersected at a single point. YingJue stopped for a moment. She always wanted all of her shots to hit the target, and she always shot at where the target was, not where they were going to be. If they were moving, she needed to lead the shot, but what if they weren't moving? What if, like these AI, they were just waiting for her to fire so they knew how to react? Shooting at the enemy from a variety of directions did no good unless she fired at a variety of potential locations. This time, she fired her beam rifle repeatedly at on gundam, causing it to move forward, then she fired her INCOM's simultaneously, one aimed in front of the gundam, one where the Gundam currently was, while the beam from her rifle continued to follow the target. This way, if the target continued, it would get shot, if it stopped, it would get shot, and if it reversed, it would get shot...

The Victory shot upwards. YingJue clenched her teeth. Of course, in space, all dimensions were maneuverable. She tried the same thing again, only this time, instead of lining up her three shots up in a straight line parallel to the flight path of the target, she fired in a triangle that was wide enough to catch the target, but small enough that it couldn't easily slip in between the shots. This was how anti-air flak cannons were designed, to shoot in a two-dimensional area rather than in a straight line to increase coverage and the chance to hit a fast-moving object. One beam grazed the foot of the victory as it attempted to dodge upward again, but it was still a hit. "I think I'm figuring something out," YingJue said, mostly to herself.

Smart shooting had never been something YingJue had to develop, as she had relied on volume and it had served her well up to this point. Yet she looked a the INCOMs floating there. As they were, they were nothing more than stationary turrets. Maybe it was time she learned how to fire while moving.
Kanaka blinked the tears away as relief flooded over her. She had been afraid that Junkojuro truly planned to take her place. "Your words are too kind, far more than I deser..." Kanaka thought about it for a moment. If she dismissed his praise, it could mean that she took his words lightly. She needed to trust his wisdom. "...I hope I can live up to your expectations, and be a student that you can be proud of," she finished.

"I haven't played Shogi before, though I've seen Takeshi-ojisama play. I'd be willing to learn it though. It may help me overcome the difficulty I have understanding people. But what will you have in return for being my teacher?"
Did not lose enthusiasm. I'm still here.

OK, so Rin is still with us, and our Black Tortoise has dropped. That being the case:

@Lost Cause- because you asked first, I want to ask you if are you interested in being just a supporting character, or do you want to take the last vacant magical girl/boy position?

@ReaptheMusic- sorry, I'm going to ask Lost Cause first, since they were here first. If Lost Cause doesn't want to take the Black Tortoise position, then you get it.

I hope this is fair.
Guh, I hope you're better.
Destiny, Handel is no longer on the deck, he went to hide in the hold. He's speaking to everyone through snail-phone.
What do you mean by family? Although I might have a few ideas now that I think on it. I just can't guarantee a decent image and will have to rely on a physical description since I can't draw.
I think there's a Japanese belief that if you see yourself, it means you're going to die soon.
I apologize if my initial CS for Kanaka isn't quite the person she's turning out to be (I feel in my CS she is a lot more calm, collected and confident, whereas she is much less so in the actual RP). So without further ado, I present what I think is her personality as presented: http://typelogic.com/isfj.html
