Hey remember when this site didn't have 3 tabs in the IC threads? Crazy.

I feel like Myriad Reality is somehow the secret glue holding this entire site together

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

@Aerandir@Wick Collaborating on posts essentially blocks other characters from interacting with any characters involved until they get out of their little instance. Hence, an RP within an RP.

Not to mention, it's really jarring and fucks with pacing a lot a little. It also kills suspense, and for some people, they're just plain not fun to read through. Why role-play with a group if you're just going to pull people aside to circle jerk do their own thing from time to time while they're clearly with a whole group of people IC? It just seems utterly pointless and jarring for literally no practical reason at all.
SO I'M CURIOUS, HOW DO YOU GUYS PRONOUNCED CMAS IN YOUR HEADS?

ME AND MY CO-GM PRONOUNCED "SEE-MASS"

And that's how we imagine it being said in characters.
@Acromantula I collaborated with Josephb and Aerandir

Alex Teixeira

And there it was. Somebody finally had the nerve to shatter the indifference that plagued this little gathering. Alex has his reasons to reserve himself, even if they were somewhat immature, but nobody had addressed the presence of the two (four if you counted Katherine and Grace) Newcomers. Alex huffed uncomfortably as Rowena confronted Ethan to his surprise, taking a seat in one of the shredded chairs nearby as quietly as he could. He couldn't help the hardwood floor's audible creaking. The earlier revelation hadn't done much for the situation either, aside from rouse unnecessary Drama within the group, which Alex, and a few others, seemed very unconcerned with. The Portuguese man leaned back for a moment, until he felt a splinter of wood jab him in the back.

Ethan snapped, for some reason or another, at the woman's inquiries. To be fair, they'd just escaped a near-death catastrophe at Dana point. A few were still shook up, no doubt, but Ethan? Alex expected him to maintain his composure in the face of much more than the musings of a stranger. Ethan was right about one thing, there was no reason to trust this newcomer. Even Alex had been rather cautious, but there'd been no real judgement, or consensus on how Jason and Rowena should be treated. Before he could interject, Ethan stampeded out of the room, and Rowena began explaining herself, for everyone to hear. Alex grit his teeth before speaking up with a tinge of impatience in his voice.

"Lady, this group es not ehm, in highest spirits. Our home, it- Eh, went up in flames, as it is said, not very long ago. Many of our friends died," Alex said, motioning his hands around to emulate fire as he did so, "It is fresh trauma, and not to be ehm, prodded at, yes?"
The name of the game is... Wait for it...

Melodrama
@Necrophage In the future, just forewarn us OOC if you plan on mentioning any characters who aren't nameless. It gives us a chance to add them into the lore/plot without potentially breaking anything, regardless of how unlikely that might be.
Krunk Fortress

Do you hear that?

As the troop of nearly 100 Krunklets (spotted with a few Krunlites, who were marked by their black, bladed armor) made their way around the Krunk-mobile, they noted a few faint voices.

"Do you hear that?!" Tommy murmured.
"Sounds like trouble!" Billy Whimpered.
"Are they humans?" Johnny mumbled.
"No way!" Jimmy hissed.

"STOP WHISPERING YOU BLITHERING IDIOTS!" Dr Krink shouted, giving away their position rather abruptly, "IT'S THAT WIND MAGE AND HIS LITTLE FRIEND! MOVE FASTER!"

Frighder Forrest

Hiss! Hiss! Hi... Uh.. *Spider noises*

Before Ainra or Jenso could get anywhere near the Krunk-mobile, two giant spiders lurched from the thickness of the forest, one from either side of the ruined pathway. Their abdomens were at least 2 meters thick, and they held themselves up with 8 equally sturdy legs, and were covered in thick bristled fur that stood on end like little tightly-packed needles. They bared their fangs, massive green claw-like appendages, and attempted to grab and bite into Jenso and Ainra in total synchronization.
Diver's Paradise

The remnants of battle.

Luke looked over the remains of the CMAS fodder mages that littered Divers paradise. He stood between the two southern pillars, on the risen path that lead between them, and met in front of the tunnel he'd entered from. There were hundreds of mages scattered across the underground, most dressed in the common CMAS uniform. Luke made his way down the ramp that lead into the main square from the southern exit, pausing only to glance at a CMAS troop that lay dead on his stomach. That wretched crest that they wore on the back of their uniforms made him cringe. Idiotic dogs, the lot of them. They obeyed without question, or remorse for those that Sydney pointed his treacherous fingers at. Luke rammed his iron-coated foot into the dead soldier's rib cage, knocking him off the ramp like a limp rag doll. "Serves them right," He grunted to himself. All sense of dread was pushed aside when he noticed Alvios making his way towards him. With a smile, he threw his gauntlets off, kicked his boots into a nearby pile of bodies, and opened his arms to grab his friend by the shoulders.

"Ahaha, you know know me-" But as he leaned forward to embrace his friend, almost tripping over the body of a Diver, the serious tone in Alvios' voice froze him in place. Betrayal? Luke's eyebrows tensed up something fierce. "Tinon sent you out? Where? Why? What the fuck was he-" Luke stopped himself despite flailing his body around like an angered savage. With a heavy breath, he turned back towards Alvios and nodded begrudgingly. The last thing he wanted to do was talk things over with anyone. Luke preferred the rationale of his fellow Divers, he was just about ready to charge Arcadia head-first regardless of how idiotic that principal was. "Fine, yea-" Just then, a single Diver rushed over to him and Alvios, spewing nonsense about tagging along with the two friends, at complete random. Luke turned to look at him for the briefest of moments, not giving the tiniest of a fuck about his inquiry. He turned back to Alvios with profound confusion painted across his face. "Alvios, who the fuck is that?"
@Letter Bee The quadra powers also do not number 'millions' of people. Arcadia, the biggest nation, only holds 23'000 people, most of whom are not even mages.
