People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

"Love him?" Emilia parroted, sounding awfully offended, "No, no way! He's a good fighter and all, but that guy's got some serious insecurity issues! You ever actually talk to him? It's like walking into a seminar on Kalo, the wise and powerful!" Emilia deepened her voice at the end of her sentence and rose her hands up. "Besides, it's pretty obvious that he's got his eyes set on you. Not sure why though, I've never seen you guys talk, let alone get along!" Emilia's little brother smiled back at Lystra shyly. "You should talk to him- If you're interested, that is. I think the guy's kind of a tool."

Kalen lumbered his way past the two girls as they spoke, clutching his jaw. He was aided by one of the two who'd tended to him after the fight, but seemed no worse for wear. He smiled and nodded at Emilia and Lystra before heading towards his father and brother in a hurry. "Kalen on the other hand, haha.." Emilia cut herself short and patted Lystra's shoulder before tugging her brother into the midst of the feast. "Gotta run, Dad's waiting!" She shouted of a chorous of chatter, "Come find me after the feast! I've gotta show you something!" Emilia was always excited about something. But not many would humor her ramblings, except Lystra, anyways. She'd been happy to have a friend who wasn't so quick to shove her off, but was pretty difficult to pin down for more than a minute herself!

Chief Fuso reached out to Kalo as Kalen walked up to their conversation, but the boy stomped away from his father in a bit of rage. Something had happened, but anyone who got in Kalo's way found themselves shoved aside, or at the receiving end of his loud mouth. "Move!" Kalo huffed, "Get out of my way!" Fuso looked onto his son in disappointment, but did not chase after him. Kalen attempted to follow, but his father's hand grasped onto one of his massive legs. Fuso shook his head, and Kalen sat down with a defeated expression on his face.

All the while, the rest of Fuso's clan enjoyed themselves in groups of three to ten. Families and friends, from the hunters, to the farmers, to the elders, and so on. There were so many rings of men and women, and each was just as energetic as the last. It was a rightful party indeed, all that was left was for Lystra enjoy herself. That, or wander off as she often seemed to do.

Kalo ran past a nearby outcrop of stones near the edge of the lake, far from where the festivities were taking place, and opposite to where the campsite was located. The young man huffed and puffed, fuming with jealousy and anger. As soon as he was out of sight, Kalo dropped to the ground, and sat with his back firmly planted against the side of a giant jutting spear of stone, opposite to the lake. As he sat there and thought over what his father had said, something watched him from behind another nearby rock formation, gazing upon the boy with curious emerald eyes. Neither said a word, though. The wind buffeted Kalo's long black hair as he sat there in silence, feeling the energy in his body leave him, depressed by the reality that he'd faced.
@Rune_Alchemist somewhat, yes. The only limitations are that all high-tech modern technology is off limits, such as computers and television.
@Jensoman u already know you're accepted bruh.

~ Chapter 6 ~

Leaves Bathed In Blood

Mikhael, Lucas, and Ezekial made their way through the treacherous forest carefully. There wasn't much danger to be seen just yet, but the endless rows of bent trees and twisted bushes gave the place an air of disaster. Several unique flowers had sprouted at random, apparently, littering the forest floor and occasionally hanging from above. But They didn't seem to pose any immediate threats. Lucas stepped upon a purple mushroom with pointed edges, and it released a low-hanging gas, but nobody was in danger of breathing it in.

"Eugh. This is not a place for knights to be prowling," Lucas quipped.

"Quiet, Lucas. You do not even share our rank, technically speaking," Ezekial said, cutting deep into Lucas' pride. The royal knight barely dodged a low hanging branch as he followed after Mikhael. "Well, Mikhael? Anything?" He asked.

Unfortunately, everything looked the same. The flowers showed no patterns, the trees were lined with paralleled precision, and the sky was hidden from view. They were essentially lost in the endless maze of trees, as far as anyone could tell.
Ezekial and Lucas followed closely behind. The Royal knight had not taken a moment to equip his helmet, but his hand did just find keeping the stray branches from smacking into his face. Lucas felt the clang of wood against his mask, but didn't mind it. The three were well on their way to finding Henry within the Crimson woods.

From beyond their perception, a tiny pink flower peeked down from the foliage above them, just barely out of sight. Where pollen should have rested however, there sat a single green eye that glared at them with ill intent. Somewhere in the forest, a creature grinned and padded at his stomach.

"Food"

The Tower passed him completely, but fell onto its side behind him, covered at least 4 spaces. The pieces then all halted and Ada glared at Jenso impatiently. "Hurry up! Or your little friends are going to suffer a fate worse than death!"

Prelude

As long as anyone can remember, life has been governed by the unstable flux of arcane energy. Humans have always striven to unlock the hidden potential of the arcane through any means possible, from scientific extrapolation, to innate application through blind talent. It has pushed many to look for potential in areas which most thought to be dangerous, unnatural, or outright horrifying. Despite the many doubts that still linger in the minds of the masses though, mages, both traditional and professional, have pushed their boundaries, birthing magic and technology that has shaped the structure of life as we know it. Regardless of the positive influence of their progress however, curiosity and perseverance ultimately acted as a catalyst for conflict and disagreement between factions, both big and small, across the scope of the entire world.

Thankfully, due to the combined efforts of the Arcadian nation, and their allies within the super continent of Thorisa, peace has been present for the past 120 years, and shows no real signs of waning any time soon. Despite disagreements between traditionalists and scientific methodists, life has never been better for civilians, and progress continues to flourish in both fields of arcane study. Even so, the tension between factions remains high, giving rise to very strained relations between the capital nations of Thorisa. Even though there's a mutual understanding to keep the peace, and none have been foolish enough to contradict this ideal, very few stable national connections exist outside of the Quadra-Powers of Arcadia, Hyznia, Illon, and Teknoh. Towns, Cities and small Countries are completely separate from one another, spread unevenly across the continent, and physically divided by large, unclaimed expanses of land. Dangerous creatures, and untapped magics lay scattered across the empty recesses of no-man's-land for the strong of heart to discover, at their own risk, of course.

Very few actually choose to venture outside the borders of civilization, hunting for relics, nodes, and knowledge to further assist in the progression of arcane resources, all for different reasons. Some study independently from the conglomerates in any given city, developing or deconstructing magic in their own way, while others sell what they find to avoid the troubles of prolonged labor. Regardless of the intentions that these treasure hunters harbor, they're all looked upon as filth, and carry a horrible reputation alongside their profession. Thus, they have been labeled as 'Divers' akin to their habit of diving into the dangers that present themselves out in the mysterious wilds of no-man's-land. Although they put their lives at risk for the greater good of progress, there aren't many who respect their sacrifices at all. After all, bravery is idiotic in Thorisa, or at least that's what the governments would like the general populace to believe. Why? Nobody really knows.

There's one advantage that Divers have over even the most esteemed mages and scientists of the Arcadian order, though. They're the only ones who have the slightest idea of what's going on in no-man's-land. If Arcadia is the power mediating the largest civilizations across Thorisa, Divers are the power that mediate no-man's-land, effectively turning it into the 'Diver's paradise' for the experienced, and turning the ill-thought title of 'Diver' into a badge of courage to wear with pride. Some think that the Divers have established something of a rogue nation within no-man's-land, but information on their habits is sparse, and nobody is willing to leave the safety of their home nations to look into this theory any further. In that respect, Divers are safe from the eyes of Arcadia, and the nations under their supervision.

Now the world of Thorisa is waiting for you, fellow Divers. Are you ready to traverse no-man's-land for fame, fortune, and glory beyond your recognition- among your fellow Divers, anyways, haha!

Lucas nodded at Mikhael's last comment and turned to Lillian, who shook her head. "I'm not going in there with you two. It would be foolish. My specialty lies in arms alone, and my magic is weak, much like Lucas'. If anything, it would be optimal to take one of the Queen's guards with you," Lillian insisted. Ezekial nodded and looked to Joshua.

"It would be wise to split our strongest knights between the groups. I will accompany Lucas and Mikhael, then, Joshua. I have the suspicion that my magic will be of more use in the woods than yours," Ezekial added, stepping closer to Mikhael and Lucas. Joshua agreed with a curt nod and turned to the horses.

"Then we will stay here and watch Killion and Raltz, as well as guard the supplies... Don't let yourselves fall into any traps. If you need to retreat and regroup, do so with haste," Joshua said, walking towards the cart without delay. Lillian turned to her brother, and then to Mikhael, and then to her brother once more. She looked onto to Lucas, and he nodded, waving her off with one hand.

"Don't worry, Mikhael," Lucas started, as Lillian finally joined Joshua by the cart, "I'm sure you retain quite a bit of combat prowess. If not, Ezekial and I will protect you with our lives as well."

"Are we ready, then?" Ezekial asked, with one last status check.
