Hey remember when this site didn't have 3 tabs in the IC threads? Crazy.

I feel like Myriad Reality is somehow the secret glue holding this entire site together

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

@Rilla I'd imagined the mechanised world, overtaken by the cold, unfeeling grasp of technology to the point where status is determined by contribution, to have a desolate aura about it, when contrasted with a thematic opposite, a world full of magic and natural life. Magic feels dead, nature feels dead, Hence the phrasing, semi-desolate. It's a matter of perspective, really.

@Rilla Where the trees at tho
@Zyamasiel I have accounted for that, instead referring to the now semi-desolate technological planet, Frixion. Thank ya

If you cannot perceive my criticisms as anything more than complaints when I've already shown a great deal of compliance in weakening my character, I have... No words. Sorry if my compliant attitude, and flexibility to the whims of the universe have come across as malicious. I still can't imagine why they would be construed as such, but you have my apologies, either way. Just as I have the right to misinterpret the tier list, you have the right to misinterpret my intentions, I suppose.

But I've clarified it at this point, so there should be no issue. As for resolutions to the tier system's current state, I would imagine them to be obvious. Increase the detail of the tier list vastly. Unless you're looking for me, or anyone else, to guide you in doing so, assuming that be the intent of the GMs, I have nothing else to say on the matter of tiers.

Moving back to Dacer, I still don't understand how his Kit maintains a Tier above 4 with several abilities that can be compared to earthly elements (An electrical outlet, dry ice, literal fire, and high wind pressure respectively) and a specialisation that maintains relative balance, when limited by the spectrum of shooting in a straight line, sans Staticshock. The alternatives to firing in a straight line, ergo the cloud and Amp routes, require substantial Prep, and are something that most T3 characters should be able to deal with. As far as his physical abilities go, they go no further than T3 at best, and his durability in the face of physical damage arguably ranks at T1/T2.

I'm at a loss. I will await more feedback before I make any further changes, or deviate to another character concept entirely.
@The Harbinger of Ferocity

That wasn't/isn't my mentality. I was not taking advantage of anything with the intent to get an incredibly powerful character past your censors. I was using the tier system, as it was displayed, to limit the scope of my character's abilities. Frankly, I'm a little offended by your presumption. That being said, the intent of the tier system is irrelevant to how it is construed by the public. As far as I am concerned, it is poorly constructed, and somewhat incoherent. It's a criticism, not a complaint.

With the modifications I've made, I've dropped the scope of power of nearly all his magical abilities by over 75%-90% across the board. If this vast of a change is still too little, I may end up making a different character entirely, assuming the GMs agree that his kit is too powerful, as I am unsure how to match your standards at this point, leaving me somewhat befuddled on how to nerf him further without lowering him to a T3 overall.

If you'd like, I can use real-world parallels to further describe the power of each technique.
Offensive magic alone, by rule of the tiers, cannot feasibly exist below T4

I think the confusion stems from the tier list being too general, and poorly worded. I took advantage of that, mostly.

I've updated the scope of his abilities accordingly, above.

@The Harbinger of Ferocity
A Tier (4) character can easily be made up of an array of Tier (2) abilities

This makes, literally no sense if the tier list is to be paid any level of credibility. Offensive magic alone, by rule of the tiers, cannot feasibly exist below T4, and the options at his behest are scaled with the description of Tier 4 abilities in mind. Then again, the tier system has always been a contradictory, incoherent mess. By its own rules, T4 characters should be able to maintain regional influence, but doing so with any modicum of efficiency whatsoever would require T5 abilities, if the scaling itself takes into account civilisation.

That being said, I have no issue with lowering the scaling on his magical abilities to dampen his scope of power significantly. I'll also be removing Catastrophe, as it's more of an in-universe ability, and has no logical/thematically appropriate reasoning to exist in this setting.

Completely forgot to tag the Forum GMs.

I'm not sure if the lore is acceptable, but it's taking into account the history of Frixion Prime as the initial Gaian home-world. It's also less relevant to Dacer himself, and more an recap of the Gaian Race. Dacer lacks a significant history to fall back on, unfortunately. If there are any problems, let me know.
