She could not wear purple, Haruka decided mentally as she ran her fingers over the soft silk of a violet kimono with butterflies in various colors and sizes ornamented into the fabric. If she did, she would have to put her hair up, too, for the two shades not to blend into one another and putting her hair up would expose some of the head of the phoenix on the nape of her neck, where the body and flames stretched down to her shoulder. Her fingers ghosted over a cream-colored one, never touching it in feat that it would remind her of the sensation of Suzaku's. Maybe a red one?

Before she had the chance to reel herself into a state of depression by going through all of things that reminded her of her old life, she decided to leave. Just as she had turned to do so, she was startled to a halt by the sudden embrace that caught her from behind, arms resting lightly around her shoulders. Her breath hitched and she had to repress her every instinct to reach behind her and toss this person across the marketplace like a football. A chin fell to her shoulder and by the way the arms pulled back a bit at the move, this person was much taller than her.

"Miss me, my dear? I know a certain part of me that definitely missed you." came the smooth, almost seductive comment from the man behind her. She could tell it was a man by the voice.

For a long moment, a moment so long, in fact, that it might have gotten a bit weird, Haruka just stood like frozen. Her every muscle was clenched and she had no idea what to do. She could not quite place the voice in her mind. She turned her head just enough to see red. No, literally. She saw red hair and something clicked inside her head. Immediately, her face matched his hair in color and she was sure she radiated heat from pure embarrassment.

This man, who was so obviously hugging her in the middle of a populated area, was a hooker. Half the women, and men, if she remembered correctly, there were likely clients of his at some point and knew very well what he was.

“I, uhh,” Haruka mustered oh-so eloquently. Her throat snared up and she was sure she was going to explode any minute now, “Thanks?” she finally managed, only to immediately start mentally kicking herself. What the hell kind of response was that?

So, I would like to get this show on the road! Who has some characters for me to look at?

Long and rant-y sort-of apology

No! I completely forgot about this!
Everything went to hell on Sunday, because my dear fiancé (who's head I kinda want to rip off ATM) "forgot" to add his best man and his girl to the list of guests, so we hadn't ordered enough food. So on Monday, I called and begged the caterer to add in a few more portions.
A few hours after I got them to comply, our car started working up and the only time the shop had was today, so I've been borrowing my parents car to drive him to work at shit in the morning, so the car would be back by the time my mom goes to work - this includes getting both kids up and ready and loaded into the car for the 30 minute drive each way.
Tuesday, we realized that with our car out of commission, we'd have to rely on others to pick up the cakes and stuff, so we had to ask my uncle to do that. While we were discussing it, we realized that the time we had ordered the food for was wrong and we'd need to have it delivered earlier or hey would be setting up when the guests arrived back from the church. So I had to call the caterer again and ask to have the delivery time changed.
On Wednesday, the bakery called and asked a bunch of questions about the cake (such as why I wanted an octopus on the baptism cake*) and they were confused about the date, since it was a Saturday and baptisms are usually on Sundays. I realized that they hadn't actually understood my order and that it was TWO cakes, one being the baptism cake and the other being the wedding cake. It took forever to find out whether they were actually able to make the wedding cake, too, because the guy I first talked to had to call his boss, who then had to call a pastry chef, who then had to call God-knows-who and I ended up stress-eating an entire bag of Beef Jerky (don't judge me). Eventually, they agreed to make the wedding cake, too, even though it was "short notice", because - and I quote - "they might have made a mistake".
Then yesterday, my dear fiancé asked me if I remembered to get something else than the ordered cakes for his diabetic uncle, who I had no idea was diabetic, and I just died inside. I went out and bought a fucking sugar-free cake mix and some sugar-free chocolate mousse mix** and this is gonna be the diabetic cake, because I've gotten to the point where I just cannot give another fuck.
Today, I have to go to the place the party will be (my grandparents' house***) and arrange the tables and stuff, so we can seat way too many people, because my fiancé's family is fucking huge.

*The octopus is symbolic for the premature children (in Denmark, at least) because they get one in the hospital because the arms are made to be like an umbilical cord.

**I have never used a cake mix in my life. I'm a trained pastry chef, so it just proves just how dead my nonexistent ginger soul is.

***My grandmother had a brain hemorrhage almost 15 years ago and is paralyzed in half of her body, so she kinda has to be at home, where it's wheelchair safe and she can go to her special bathroom or get her diaper changed when she doesn't.

I likely won't be on til the 27th and I honestly just don't have the energy for it, either. Sorry.

@The Mad Hatter They're both expressions of love, and both mean you're going to dedicate your life to someone else. But one is for the two of you, and only the two of you. So I'm going to tell you to enjoy it.

I guess the big difference for me is the fact that my daughter actually has a different father. Long story short, I got pregnant by accident, we decided to keep the baby and he decided that he changed his mind, when it was too late. He's never had any contact with her and doesn't want to, either.
So having a kid with someone isn't a vow of staying together forever; my fiancé even said yesterday that when we got married, we couldn't just break up anymore. We went through hell with our son, because, first, it took almost a year and two miscarriages to finally get a baby that decided to stick around and then he was born 4 months prematurely, making him one of the youngest surviving babies ever. For the first two months of his life, we constantly thought we were gonna lose him. It really took a toll on our relationship and there was a lot of times where we were both sure that we couldn't make it through, but we did and our relationship is stronger than ever.

Oh. Wow. Sorry for telling you my whole life story...

That line, tho' I'll admit it, I lol'ed mostly because it sounds like something my fiancé would say (we're just a couple of pervs).

I'll get a post up ASAP, but that might not be for another couple of days. I know I'll have time on Wednesday, so it'll be by then at the latest.

T'is gonna be good. Been a while since I really got a chance to play awkward-as-hell Haruka.

Thanks, guys ^_^ It's weird how getting married seems like a much bigger deal than it did to have kids. Likely because so few couples actually get married (at least here in Denmark).

Probably gonna have to drop out of this then. I'll be away from the 27th and won't have good enough internet to post here.

#1 Update:
The IC will not be up until the 28th, at the earliest. My youngest child is getting baptized I'm getting married to his father in a week (and I'm dying because of all the last-minute preparations that still needs to be done). Because of this, I have very little time to actually do roleplaying things (I feel like I barely have time to poop and sleep) and won't be on much. I'll still be on at least once a day to check for questions and reply if necessary, but this won't be the week that I start or participate in online conversations for the sake of conversing.
I encourage you all to keep the OOC alive and start getting to know each other and I'll start doing the same once I'm a married lady.
