Today's the first time in a long time that I've felt empty. Not even sad or tired, just empty. This quarantine is getting to me more than I thought.

There was really too much going on here.

That was what Meruin thought as her personality was violently shunted out of the rabbit Heather-Meruin held and forced back into her own body. The sudden shock of sensory overlord briefly caused the small witch to stagger. Thankfully, this sensation was not entirely new to her -- she had grown desensitized to being away from her body before jumping back abruptly, so she regained her bearings in a moment.

Not being able to respond immediately to the apparently-not-ogre and the conventionally attractive librarian woman due to the sudden influx of events, Meruin took a deep breath, before walking towards the two of them, keeping her eye on the possibly mentally-challenged young man and the likely to be mentally-challenged woman that set herself on fire, and eventually ended up behind the formerly mentioned two.

Better to be with the sane ones, she thought.

In response, Heather's voice remarked in her mind: "And you would know who's sane how?"

Ignoring that, she turned to Cole, regarding the chill that penetrated the air of the library with an open look of curiosity. "I would prefer not to have to leave the Library sir, as I do have some important business to take care of. Oh, but by all means please call Mister Gall. He's a rather fascinating subject, and I don't get too many opportunities to observe him up close," she delivered in he characteristically earnest deadpan.

"Oh, and good morning," she said, nodding at Katsumi, before turning to Arata, "and you too, Mister Not-Ogre. As to what I was doing, why do you ask?"
@Zombehs yup, they're naturally adhesive and designed to stick on multiple sources. They are also water proof and tear-resistant :)
@Rune_Alchemist @Ashifili

Oh, okay then. I stand corrected xD Was this discussed OOC or IC? Because tbh I've had a hard time keeping up with both at the moment.

Yes, internet still hasn't returned. I am currently leeching off my school's network and my cousin's house that I have to walk to everyday to get online projects submitted ;_;
@Zombehs Meruin's tags aren't gonna fall even if Cole does his supernatural no-sell. They're catalysts, not the actual magic, and what's the range for Spirit Knockout anyway? I assumed he sent a field or had to concentrate on where it would work, but he just enveloped the whole library with it. Does the range change depending on the room size or what?
~Meruin Hazy~

"Merry, darling, you know I love you but I don't like thiiiiiis~"

Walking through the academy grounds was a tiny, lone figure. Her curly hair bobbed up and down as she hopped through the streets with a dismayed look on her face. She held a single gray rabbit in her arms that had a vaguely bored looked about it. In fact, it looked downright insulting with how disinterestedly it stared at everything in front of it.

"What is the matter, Heather? I would think you would be used to my body by now."

Those words could only be heard by Meruin, or at least, by her body. Right now, the one in control of the little girls body was her contracted spirit Heather, a deceased porn star that seemed to be having a less than stellar time.

"I am! What I'm not used to is . . . this!"

To punctuate her cry, Heather lifted the bunny in her arms and let it face her. The bunny's nose twitched.

"What so unusual about it?"

"You! In a bunny! While I'm carrying it! This is all kinds of unusual!"

Indeed, currently Meruin's personality was inside the bunny carried by her body that had been possessed by a porn star. Let that sink in for a moment. Meanwhile, Meruin metaphorically tilted her head.

"Is it? It is nothing more unusual than the usual, in my opinion."

Heather looked for a moment like she wanted to argue, but then gave up and sighed. There was no arguing with Meruin on things like this. The simple fact was that Meruin honestly found this completely normal, so even the suggestion that she was doing something out of the norm was out the window, let alone a proper conversation. Besides, there was no point in arguing anyway. Even if she was by some miracle able to convince her of how freaky this was, Meruin would probably just nod and continue on, likely not caring that it was. That was just how she was.

"Whatever Merry, so what's the point of this anyway?"

The bunny named Meruin settled back into a comfortable position in her body's arms, before responding.

"I want to observe your interactions with other people first hand, obviously."

"But you can do that from in here can't you? Why go through the trouble of body-jacking a bunny?"

"It wasn't all that troublesome. Animals don't normally have strong magic resistance and lack the sentience of humans, so forming a contract with one was a simple matter of-"

"Going of tangent there Meruin."

"-forming the necessary bond and playing its instincts," continued Meruin, unperturbed. "In any case, observation from a different body has a number of benefits. Such as not sharing the sensations of the same body, and the ability to act outside of my body even as you control it."

"Okay, okay, I get it, I think. Just spare me the details. You know I can't handle the details. Seriously, you're waaay to fond of details Merry. I suspect it might be a fetish."

"Do I look sexually aroused as I discuss things like this."

Meruin currently did not have a face that was capable of vivid expressions, but Heather was sure she that Meruin had this completely earnest and honestly curious look on her face that only someone who was absolutely innocent but also completely twisted of morals could accomplish.

"Ugh, nevermind. Where was it you wanted to head over to again?"

"The Library."

"Typical, why can't we go somewhere exciting for once, like the boys dorms? The Library is just so boooring."

"Though I'm sure your eager to once again experience the sensations of fornicating mindlessly, avoid using my body to do so at least up until I am at least fourteen. The loss of my virginity before them will cut-off the number of rituals I am capable of, as after all, virgin blood is a wonderfully strong reagent."

"And . . . that's all you care about? No other reason to avoid your first time? At all?"

"Well, I have a few more, but they all follow along the same line, so practically, no."

Heather in Meruin's body sighed.

"You worry me Merry."

Once at the library, things were a lot more exciting than what Heather expected, though not in the way she would have preferred. Rather than a bombastic orgy over bookshelves and tables, the person in front of them decided to make a scene by announcing his arrival in the loudest way possible, which was followed by some chit-chat that was handily interrupted by a girl that decided the best response was to set herself on fire in a library -- you know, a nice, cramped space filled with lots of paper and wood?

Though Meruin was not in control of her body, Heather knew instinctively what she would have done in this situation.

Which is why she was now walking around the library sticking sealing tags on the wall to make a nice little perimeter while nobody was looking.

Click, clack. The sound of solid heels on cement resounded clearly despite the crowd at Kings Cross station. Parasol in one hand, and shoulder bag in the other, a certain blonde made her way through the mass of people rushing to catch their train. A pleasant smile was on her face, as if she were somehow recalling a joke that has been heard thousands of times over, yet still retains its hilarity. That joke, of course, was what Karen knew as "life". And currently, Karen stopped in front of a certain pillar marked "Platform 9" to once again partake in the hilarious events that life was beholden to.

Life consisted of many things, one of the foremost among those things was "knowledge" -- knowledge was an inevitable part of growing. One started out with little knowledge, and a lack of knowledge could lead to any number of situations, usually funny, but all too often tragic as well. Thankfully, it was the former that Karen bore witness to at the moment, as she did every year for the past six years of her life at Hogwarts.

A child, probably no more than 10 years old, accompanied by confused looking adults, probably his parents, looked around Platform 9. Obviously, they'd been told to go to Platform 9 3/4, but not where it actually was. Thus, the inevitable clucking about like a helpless chicken for the entrance ensued. Over and over again, they looked around the platform, finding nothing to clue them in on what to do or where to go. Finally, it looked like that parents had given up and most likely assumed they'd been scammed, and patted the child on the shoulder, preparing to disappoint him then before leaving. The child's face crumpled and tears welled in his eyes as his parents most likely convinced him of what they probably saw as a very elaborate practical joke.

Well, there was indeed a joke, but it was far from reaching the punchline. All that was left was someone to deliver it.

Karen smiled slightly. She always did enjoy having to commit this honor.

"Excuse me," said Karen, in the light, pleasant voice she was known for, "are you perhaps looking for Platform 9 3/4?"

Immediately the boy's eyes brightened. With a wide smile, he ran up to her, trolley still in hand. "Yes! Yes! Do ya know where i' is miss? Are ya a wizard too?"

"Now Jake, calm down," said the woman, probably the child's mother. She glanced at Karen for a moment, and Karen found a sliver of distrust in her gaze.

All the better then, she thought.

"Yes, I know where it is, no, I am not a wizard," replied Karen. "I'm a witch, which is basically a wizard, only we're girls instead."

"Oh! I gettit. Well, ca' ye tell me wheh the Platform i' then? I's my first time hea' an' I dun' wanna be late!"

"of course." In response, Karen lifted her hand and pointed. By this point, even the parents were dragged into the flow of events, and as one, the family turned to where she was pointing. The family did nothing at first, just staring and staring at the sight before them

Staring back at them was a single stone pillar with the sign "Platform 9" hung over it.

Annoyance crossed the fathers face as he snapped at Karen. "Is this some kind of joke young lady, because I've had it with this," he said levelly. "You had better explain yourself before I report you to the police."

Karen returned a cool gaze of her own. "It's no joke sir, I assure you. The entrance to the Hogwarts platform is right there."

Perfectly in time with her words, a family of wizards walked right passed the wall and into the Platform. Karen had to pat herself on the back for that. Getting the timing down was rather difficult.

At once the family's jaws metaphorically hit the floor as they stared with wide eyes as one by one members from a family of a different sort disappeared into the apparently non-existent wall.

"That is the the entrance. All you have to do is walk through it, simple as that."

Nodding dumbly, the three slowly approached the wall. Just as they were about to reach it, Karen suddenly said, "Oh, but do take care not to be too nervous as you go, else the wall becomes solid again."

The family abruptly stopped in their tracks, looks of alarm on their face. And there was the punchline. The priceless looks on their faces practically made Karen's day as a mixture of shock, horror and fear played across them.

Chuckling softly, she walked passed them and let them off the joke, pulling the three of them in with her as she went through the barrier. At once, the sight that greeted them was one that was so similar, yet inherently different from what they were used to, for a moment, they were stunned into silence.

"It's really something else, isn't it?" said Karen, staring along with them. "The magical world really never loses its charm, no matter how old you get. Of course, the same applies to the muggle world, but I digress."

Turning to them, she gave a short bow of her head. "I do hope you enjoy your time here. I know I did. I'll be seeing you soon then."

Waving dumbly, still a little culture shock, the family disappeared from Karen's view as she stepped into the train. That joke was practically a routine of hers ever since her fourth year, when her parents stopped escorting her to the station. Father wouldn't have minded, but Mother would have surely stopped her before raising a fit. Of course, she changed up her methods overtime and switched things up a bit every now and then, but the end result was always the same, and always left her with a smile on her face.

A spring in her step after what she considered a good start to the year, Karen was halfway into the train when she opened the closest compartment door. Unsurprisingly, it was already occupied. It was also someone she knew.

"Hello, Elliot, a pleasant morning isn't it?"

Elliot Forrester, a fellow Gryffindor and Quidditch player. He was one of the teams Chasers and quite popular among the Gryffindors -- well, as popular as most the other Quidditch players were, anyway.

Karen stepped inside, but remained standing.

"You don't mind if I sit with you do I?"

"Ooh, scary," said Nicodemus, head leaning back in mock fear. Really, she was a funny girl. Frightened one moment, threatening the next. The only problem was that it was difficult to feel threatened when one's vulnerable side was laid bare, open for the world to see. To Nick, her words were as hollow as the bus's fuel tank. "In the meantime, I'll work on getting the gas you need. The sooner we're out of here the better, right?" he said, obviously echoing her earlier pleas of wanting to get away, and go home.

Picking up his crowbar from the floor, he gave it a little twirl before stepping out of the shed. He turned to Alexander, giving him a level look. "I'll be scavenging the east side of here, near the penitentiary, you?" He figured it would be better to be clear where he was going to be searching, to avoid any muck-ups and to widen their area of search.

@Ogobrogo I don't think Meruin cares about people seeing her naked :D
