His brow furrowed in confusion. He had assumed she knew the purpose of the garment. "No. It was originally to hide my identity, and strike fear in the hearts of my enemies." He said, recalling the elders explaining such things to him. Fear made the opponent frantic and less able to defend them self. He and his brethren had been stricken of such weakness, but even as a boy he had sociopathic tendencies.

He thought a moment about her question, though. Why still wear the mask of his identity was known to the point of infamy. Even if he was just a story parents told their children to make then behave, everyone who saw him would know.

He softened his features, regarding her with emotionless stone face. "I do not feel emotion as you, but this mask gives me reassurance of some degree of safety. I've deduced this is a comparable purpose."

He took back the mask, using his metal-style Magic to sever it in half. With the bottom half, he reshaped a new mask for himself to cover him from the nose down and from ear to ear. The top half, he made a mask for the girl's size. It was not unlike a masquerade mask, covering the eyes and nose, but was rather plain. The only decoration was Cain's signature obsidian flower on the upper left edge.

He handed the girl hers and donned his. "We can share. Anytime you feel frightened or distressed, don this mask and I will come."

He had also placed a special tracking curse on the mask. The moment it touched her face, he would know where she was and be able to see from her perspective briefly. @shylarah

Cain dropped from a tree with a smart backflip to increase his momentum for a more solid landing. With a thump, he found himself squatting in front of Amuné. She was breathing irregularly and excreting from the face. He pulled a facial cloth, recently washed, from under his breastplate and began to wipe her off.

"Your face is wet." He observed aloud, his voice resonating in the obsidian steel mask.

It took him a moment, but he recognized the display. This was an outward expression of sadness or distress. He went from a squat to sitting cross-legged and removed his mask. He carefully placed it on her. It was too big, but he hoped it would make her feel safer.

Name: Daniel

Normal appearance: Daniel is slightly short, standing five feet, eight inches tall. He's fairly lean, having always been the type to stay in and play video games rather than going out with friends. He usually wears black and grey clothes, favoring hoodies and thermal shirts along with joggers and rude-fit jeans. In shoes, he wears DC's exclusively. This is very important to him. He has hazel eyes that tend to hide behind his unruly, black hair that pokes out from under the occasional beanie or flat-bill. He always has a pair of his stereo head phones around his neck.

Knight appearance: when in chroma form, Daniel is encased in a form-fitting suit of armor not unlike the cyberpunk armor suits from the games he likes to play. The armor has a lot of black plates and creases matching his own anatomy. This form is fitting due to his reclusive nature, and need to shield himself from people. His Vanguard force fields match his sprite's brilliant, silvery-white glow. They are solid shields of white for now and will change as he grows and learns his other powers. (Picture below for reference of the armor)

Bio: Daniel was affected when the initial invasion happened. He lived out in the boonies of the Midwest. No neighbors for miles with nothing but corn and bean fields around his Dad's house. Fate was not kind to him. First the divorce, then he wakes to find his dad killed by something. His wounds were strange, so Daniel went looking. He didn't get a glimpse of the alien, all he knew was something protected him. After the murderer was gone the only company he had was a little, silvery-white light that transformed into a wolf-like dog of the same color. It asked him if he would make a deal, and he didn't hesitate. The Dog gave him a necklace with a crystal to match his new familiar, so he named it "Snoe" (after a heroic character from FFXIII). Now he's a Chroma Knight on a personal mission to find his mother and keep her safe.
