Brief History: The Sullam family claims to have been one of the first to arrive from Britain many generations ago and, can proudly say, worked tirelessly in a plethora of different administration postings over the course of the nation. As time went on the old English stock was bred out as local families were able to marry in. Rupert is the offspring of one such relationship, his father a minor civil minister and mother the daughter of a local businessman. The familial connections allowed Rupert an education in Britain from a young age, however the first world war erupting caused Rupert to sign up and fight, eventually being demobilised at the rank of lieutenant. Rupert went on to study for three more years in England, law and politics, before finally returning to Balruba. At the age of twenty four, Rupert took up his first posting in the civil service, courtesy of his father, and earned a reputation for himself of being a hard working and efficient staffer.
Experience in the military, civil administration, and a higher education finally pushed Rupert into joining the political scene proper. Standing as a moderate conservative, he was able to rest on his families financial resources to fund local projects based out of the capital seeking home rule for Balruba, as well as ensuring his selection for other roles in the government. The beginning of the second world war, despite being eligible to enlist/be conscripted, meant Rupert was invited to join the wartime colonial government as an under secretary and his work was focused on managing foreign affairs. Throughout Rupert was an advocate of the thought that such participation in the war would warrant home rule on the cessation of war. So, when this was not forthcoming, Rupert became a late addition to the founding brothers. Utterly convinced that democratic freedom was no longer forthcoming.
The new government would need men who knew how to run it, he argued, and a revolutionary government would need men who with popular connections. He sought to fill both these roles and now, with peace finally achieved, Rupert desires to lift himself to the highest office.

Character Name: Arthur Adkins Character Age: 36 (11 Experience) Brief History: Born in 1911 in the hospital Saint John on Balruba to a middle-class family. His father had always been a known member of the left-leaning group of Balruban Popular Alliance, and since he was very young he accompanied his father to party meetings and started to get acquainted with the future leaders of the party. At the age of 14, he was already considered to have great skill on oratory when he made a speech in the honor of the patriarch of the organization Gregg Remington, the founder and considered an intellectual by many in Balruba. He was educated in Balruba but later travelled to the United Kingdom to get a degree on history.
When he returned to Balruba and saw the effects of the Great Depression, it helped cement the idea that capitalism was an economic system that would sooner or later be phased out by communism. At the age of 28, he was sent to the United Kingdom as part of the conscription system put in place by colonial authorities. His fight would lead him to the beaches of Dunkirk, where he suffered heavy injuries during a Luftwaffe bombing run. He would then be considered unfit for service due to a bad leg that didn't allow him to perform well. He returned in 1941 to Balruba and proceed to continue his political career in the small island under the BPA (Balruban Popular Alliance). He quickly joined the ranks in the small island who wished for an independent Balruba and when the war began in earnest, he made job by working as a secretary renowned for his capacity of organization, although, his oratory was just as well regarded in the national assembly. Now that the war is over, he hopes to propel his left-leaning ideas into reality.

Corruption: 15 (Corporate Stooge, State Department Pawn)
Character's Portfolio: - Foreign Investor. William McMiles, an American businessman, is either the luckiest sonofabitch in the whole Traverse Hotel Line, or he has the worst oversight in the business. After serving in the United States War Department organizing barracks and billeting for the mass mobilization effort, William found peacetime work in the hotel industry, developing resorts for tourists hungry to enjoy the fruits of peace in more stable climes. While all of his contemporaries are looking to Cuba to create their playgrounds, Willy has set his sights on the newly-independent nation of Balruba.
William landed at the Balruba international airport three days before hostilities were formally ended, but by that point the war was done. Armed with a corporate bank account and a friendly "driver" with ties to the American Intelligence Community, William is looking at land across the island to develop a new hotel for American tourism. The fact that the hotel may be turned into a hotbed for anti-communist operations is just a small little detail in the big picture. Balruba's beaches can stand to make a lot of money if they're able to come to some sort of arrangement with Willy's corporate backers...
Accepted. Will start with $3,500,000 in Liquid Capital and 0 Assets.
Character Name: Elliot Webb Character Age: 55 Character's Branch: Balruban Air Force Brief History:
Born late 1892, Elliot Webb was originally born and raised in the United Kingdom before his parents had taken up a posting in Balruba where he would grow up studying the local politics and history of the island colony. He would live a peaceful life before the eruption of the first World War, feeling a sense of national identity towards the British Empire, Elliot would enlist in the army at the beginning of the war where he would be trained as an Aerial reconnaissance pilot. He performed his job well enough, he flew many missions throughout the war, eventually being one of the first to fly a dedicated fighter plane. In his second mission, his plane was disabled in the 1918 Spring Offensive where he would crash land behind German lines. Miraculously, he survived with a broken leg and a concussion but was subjected to being a prisoner of war for the remainder of the war. It was here where he began to realize where his home truly was, Bulruba, and his identity as a member of the Britsh Empire began to dwindle.
Eventually, he would return home following the end of the First World War and be married to Luiza Vale, a Brazilian immigrant. Elliot, during this time, had still maintained his love for flying and would not hesitate to get back in one for recreational purposes. This would be one of the last instances of peace within Elliot's life to the present before the onset of the Second World War where he would serve as an Officer within the Royal Air Force for a portion of the war before he was inevitably discharged after allowing German Luftwaffe pilots to fly back to Germany after defeating a majority of their force in the Atlantic. Upon returning home in 1943, Elliot would begin to coordinate with the Founding Brother to oppose the Britsh presence there, mainly out of anger of being discharged from his position. He would later go on to become one of the founders of the Bulruban Air Force after successfully mounting guns on outdated bi-planes, however, there would be little prominent use of his small, outdated air force against the little British presence on the island. However, Elliot would use them as reconnaissance vehicles, as he had within the First World War before guerilla forces would capture an airfield that had a few modern planes to supplement the ground forces.
Accepted. Interesting backstory. He will begin the game as General of the Balruban Air Force.
Timeline February 17th, 1947 Elements of the British 14th Brigade under General Kunacker officially surrender at Fort Salàna, and the Balruban Free Army (BFA) take 480 men prisoner. The battle here is the last official engagement between British and Balruban forces on the island--following eighteen months of intense guerrilla warfare and nearly six months of standalone fighting. This day is also considered the birth day of the Balruban Navy, when Balruban guerrillas boarded the HMS Cornwall, a U-class British destroyer and christened her the BNS Mejos.
February 22nd, 1947 Delegates between the Balruban Free State and the United Kingdom arrive in the capitol of Bagha and discuss the terms of the end of the Balruban War of Independence. This is canonized in the Treaty of Bagha, where the United Kingdom and all the relevant nations in the Allied Powers recognize the independence of Balruba as an independent and free nation. Similarly, within thirty-six hours, the United States, Soviet Union and neighboring Brazil all requested foreign embassies to be established in the capitol city.
