A reminder to anyone following this thread, that the OOC is up. The link is in the post above this one. If you've revoked your stated interest, please inform me, or one of the other GMs of Multiverse.

@Wraithblade6@Priscilla@malmshodes@Divinity
The first OOC post has been made. All established factions are invited. Accepted smaller factions posted before the event ends are also retroactively invited, and may arrive on the scene. Characters not associated with the event may create their own stories, taking place in one of the many cities of the New Imperium, or under the tyrranical rule of the Alliance of Conquerors.
A light breeze blew through the pavilion. The gentle afternoon light illuminated marble pillars, holding up a sleek marble roof. Outside, clouds could be seen gently drifting below. For indeed this almost rustic piece of architecture in roman style currently hovered over 12 km above the ground, held up by high-tech hover engines adapted from the space yakuza technology. This had two functions. First, it meant that the location was hard to interfere with from the ground, and hard to reach for would-be assassins. Secondly, it provided an air of isolation, an aura of calm that might assist in the peace talks. Or at least, that was the goal. Kaldor Draigo severely doubted that some nice cloud scenery would dissuade the beasts of the Conquerors from their blasphemous ways.

The Supreme Grand Master of the Grey Knights mused this, as he stood at the head of a long oaken table. Metal-reinforced seats had been provided, allowing even his heavily armoured frame to sit, but he felt more at ease standing. He'd been fighting those beasts on the front lines for over a year now, although he had arrived more than a year after his Emperor had first confronted their forces. Made a bit of a name for himself, as well. Now he had been taken from the battlefield, and was expected to preside over a peace meeting. He respected that the Emperor wished for peace, after all, none could doubt the Emperor's judgement. And Vulkan spoke for the Emperor now. But he was a man of war, a weapon in human form. For over 200 years he had wandered the Warp, tearing his way through armies of demons. At least in that cursed place his task had been a simple one. Here, he was oddly out of his element.

Invitations had been sent to all major factions, and a couple of the smaller ones. The location was a neutral one, a small building hovering over what the locals had once known as the Pacific Ocean. All factions attending were granted the right to a single representative and a single bodyguard, as well as two unarmed servants, for a total party size of 4. All factions were allowed to bring their weapons for self defence, but to draw their weapons would be considered an act of war. No military troops were allowed to approach within 50 km of the location itself, and participants would arrive via unarmed transports, flight, or teleportation devices. The conditions had been set by agreement between the New Imperium and the Dark Outliners, and it was these two factions that had originally planned this event. The Conquerors weren't exactly intent on peace, but they would be required to show up, if only to listen to what the other factions were talking about. The damned Goa'Uld xenos were also invited, but Draigo would be damned if he could predict their actions. They seemed to be almost as expansionistic as the Conquerors, but far more subtle about it. If they did show, he'd need to keep an eye on them.

Kaldor himself performed two roles at this event. He was here together with two members of the Imperial Administration, officials who would record the event and provide important information. He himself was their bodyguard, as well as the voice of the Imperium here. He represented the God Emperor, and the bastion of order formed by his works. His secondary task was that of a peacekeeper, to ensure that no faction were to take advantage of this event to attack another. he could not be swayed or pleaded with, and therefore perfectly suitable for the role of arbiter. Should any of the representatives overstep their bounds, it would be his task to eliminate them before the talks were ruined, and to make of their foolishness a message. This day would certainly be interesting.

As the hour struck three, in Terran measurements, the large marble doors leading to the landing platform opened, as the first faction of many entered the hall. Draigo sighed, in preparation. He wasn't entirely certain whether he hoped everything to go right, or for everything to go wrong. Only time would tell.....
Please post all character sheets here, it seems we've only had one. Regardless, I'll be putting up the opening post early tomorrow, so try and get your stuff approved by then.
All right, my intervention here.

I'm going to talk to both Tyki and Tiny, and see if I can sort these matters out. In the meantime, let me mention some stuff.

@Letter Bee
I'm autistic, fairly severely so, and as such suck at interpreting signals. I cannot divulge people's emotions properly, and the information hidden in subtle messages most often passes right over my head. Insert Guardians of the Galaxy reference.

My point is, over the internet, nobody can read your face. Nobody gets your tone of voice, nobody can judge your stance, nobody can see the reactive expression on your face when you look at something. All the little signals that you'd usually communicate to others are gone, and all that's left is literal information and emoticons. As such, many of the things you would think are obvious to us are not going to be obvious to us, to anyone, due to the lack of nonverbal communication. When communicating, assume that we're all stupid and oblivious, and have no clue what's going on. Don't assume we know anything you haven't explicitly told us, that way issues such as this cannot crop up, and we limit the degree of miscommunication.

Also, bitch in my direction. Tiny's current GM, but I'm pretty much the rp help desk, and I'm more able to handle the bitching than Tiny, and more able to actually assist than Tyki. If you have an issue with a player, with the rules, with a GM decision, or anything else, bitch at me through Skype/Steam, or post a bitchy comment aimed at me in the OOC. I'll get the message, assist if I can, and relay the message to others if necessary. This applies to everyone on this thread.

@ShadowVentus

While I would love for you to post more often, there is no sin in attempting to be a greater part of the action. Everyone wants to give their character the spotlight, and be all over the place. If you think you're doing something that others might dislike, check in the OOC or via another method of communication (Skype/Steam/PM/whatever). However, in this particular event, you are blameless, and as such your apology is wholeheartedly accepted.

@Tyki
I understand that you did not intend for Tiny to leave the forum, but we both know that Tiny isn't able to handle too much pressure/stress, and tends to shut down when directed to it. You are not being blamed for this latest issue, although I would appreciate it if you could work towards fixing it. The above statement applies to you as well. I know you prefer Tiny because he's less of a hard-ass than I am, but I promise I'll try and give your complaints and ideas a fair shot, and we both know that if I approve of your idea, chances are Tiny will agree with me.

@supertinyking
My friend, you are a quite competent GM, and sorely missed. You keep doing the leaving thing, and you keep coming back, because we like you over here, and the issues that forced you away are no doubt fleeting. If you wish you can resign as storyteller/GM, and if you do someone else can give it a go. But even if you do, I would appreciate it if you could continue being a player and hanging out with the rest of us. Let's skip the drama and just continue playing?
Name: The New Imperium
Leader: Nova, proxied by Vulcan
Goals:
Attain multiversal order and peace by conquering all opposing factions. Provide a safe haven for all from the dangers of Arcadia. Spread into all other universes, granting them freedom and order, and doing so by force. Eradicate the forces of evil and chaos, and any aliens that might oppose their efforts.
Troops:

- Grey Knights
Perhaps the greatest warriors of the Imperium, the Grey Knights function as the Chamber Militant for the Ordo Malleus, and they are tasked with defeating the forces of chaos. On Arcadia, they are the Imperium's greatest and most high-ranking warriors. They are only deployed to face grave threats, or to defeat the forces of Chaos whenever they emerge. Merely 100 of their number have arrived on Arcadia, but those are 100 of the best the Chapter had to offer.

- Ordo Custodes
The personal guardians of the Emperor himself, the Custodes are the most powerful warriors in the Imperium. A Custodes is a custom-built superhuman, a process far more refined than the mass-engineered Astartes. But 12 of their number exist in Arcadia, but they are each terrifying warriors, able to level entire armies. During their time in the Imperial Palace, the Custodes refused to wield weapons or armour, containing a Chaos Rift spewing horrific abominations with nothing more than their bare hands. Now that Nova has told them to stop being idiots and use their fancy combat gear, they are truly a force to be reckoned with.

- Dark Angels
The first chapter to have been created by the Emperor, the Dark Angels serve him loyally. They were split during the Horus Heresy, and many of their number fell to the influence of Chaos. This has made them secretive and dedicated to redeeming themselves, hunting down those individuals that betrayed the God Emperor. In Arcadia they arrived at a time of need, their great battleships hovering over the battlefield and annihilating the enemy. Now they are mainly in charge of the air defences of the New Imperium. While they have but few ships, each is like a fleet unto itself, and it is speculated they hold the combined firepower to cleanse the planet of all life if they wish to do so, and potentially even destroy the planet itself. They number 400.

- Salamanders
The sons of Vulkan are perhaps the kindest, and strangest of the Astartes. They live on Nocturne, a planet that would be called unlivable by practically any other group. The entire planet is covered in lava-spewing volcanoes, and liquid water is practically nonexistent. The adapted space marines have jet black skin and red glowing eyes, as well as an immense resistance to heat, considering burning napalm and flame throwers no more of a threat than a warm wind. Contrary to their demonic appearance they are also the kindest of space marines, and they take great pains to minimize civilian casualties. They are also well known for their skill with technology, even standard tactical marines being accomplished smiths and engineers. Originally the most numerous of the Space Marines on Arcadia, two companies of the Salamanders were slain in the great battle with the Conquerors as they took the Imperial Palace. They number 300.

- Legion of the Damned
The souls of those who die in battle against the Emperor's foes serve even in death. These phantom warriors are born from the absolute loyalty of the Space Marines, as their will to fight is reborn in new bodies. They materialize where they are most needed, their bodies nearly indestructible and their conviction absolute. The Legion of the Damned is legendary, and one of the most terrifying weapons of the Imperium, as there is nothing but a momentary psionic ripple to prophecy their coming, and they appear to be able to manifest at any place on the planet, provided there are other Astartes there in need of assistance. Their numbers are indeterminable due to their nature, but it is believed that no more than 100 can manifest at a time.

- Black Dragons
The mutated successors of Vulkan, the Black Dragons possess long bone spikes on their body. Like all Space Marine bones these are harder than steel, and warriors of the Black Dragons often encase them in Adamantium to turn them into lethal blades. The chapter specializes in it's jump pack tactics, moving rapidly into melee and annihilating vulnerable locations. They are used in strike teams, moving in and annihilating an important target such as a leader, engines of war, or important fortifications, and then moving away before enemy troops are able to rally against them. Their use has declined since the end of the Multiverse War, but they remain an everpresent threat, a looming sword aimed at all who would oppose the Imperium. They number 150.

Important Members:
Kitten, Lord-General of the Ordo Custodes, personal protector of the Man-Emperor
Kaldor Draigo, Supreme Grand Master of the Grey Knights, leader of all military efforts within the Imperium
Vulkan, Primarch of the Salamanders, leader of the imperium in proxy of the Emperor
Nova, the comatose Man-Emperor of the Imperium
Azrael, Supreme Grand Master of the Dark Angels, leader of the space fleet of the Imperium

Tactical Advantages:

- The Kolon Project
Early on during his days on Arcadia, Nova managed to befriend a group of beings collectively and individually referred to as 'kolon'. While these are merely clones, and the original escapes him, the clones proved to be of incredible use. These curious and amiable creatures are innately immensely talented with engineering and technology, and find great joy in putting things together. While their nature makes it impossible to employ them in mundane work, such as mass-produced weapons, Nova makes sure to psychically send them ideas and blueprints for exciting new conceptual devices. This allows the Imperium to construct incredibly complex and dangerous devices in very short periods of time, although there are often a few.... quirks. Such as it being pink, or shooting rainbows instead of plasma. Most within the Imperium believe that the Kolon Project is merely an acronym, or the name of a laboratory, and are unaware of the creatures' existence.

- Fortifications
As one of the first factions to truly dig in their heels in Arcadia, the New Imperium has some of the most impressive fortifications. Their realm is protected by great walls, turrets, and many outposts. To attempt to conquer the new Imperium one would have to march through tons of highly fortified locations, an uphill battle with seemingly endless enemies. Their vast artillery cannons also make settling anywhere near their borders a dangerous prospect.

- The Golden Throne
One of the most powerful psychic beings most would ever encounter, the Emperor of Mankind has the power to strip entire worlds of life with a single burst of psionic energy. Or at least he did, at his prime. The Golden Throne he now sits on vastly augments that power, allowing him to manipulate the fabric of reality itself. Most of his time is spent fighting the Chaos Gods with this immense power, but if the Imperium is ever in grave danger, he can perform acts of 'divine intervention', although such things are rare. Furthermore, the side effects of his battle with the Chaos Gods is a protective force that severely weakens psionic beings attempting to harm servants of the Imperium while on Imperium soil, as well as warding off demonic or chaos-aligned beings and weakening them. This great beacon can easily be sensed by any even remotely magical or psionic being on the planet, as well as being picked up by technology designed to study energy fluctuations, the fabric of space-time, or other such matters.

- Unity
Originally, the Golden Throne was created so the Emperor could carve passages through the Warp which could safely be used to transport ships and people without having to brave the wrath of Chaos. Effectively, he wished to emulate the Eldar Webway. While he was interrupted then, he succeeded in Arcadia, calling these passages Unity. Unity can be used to travel from any one location within the Imperium to any other, so long as one has access to a functioning terminal. Transportation is vastly faster than light making it effectively instant on a planetary scale. Terminals for Unity could hypothetically be used from anywhere, although few exits outside the Imperium. Beings directly opposed to the Imperium's wishes may find themselves ejected from Unity if they attempt to use it, leaving them stranded in the Warp. A quite dangerous prospect indeed.

Tactical Disadvantages:

- Civilian Population
Most of those who were brought to Arcadia, or came there of their own volition, were powerful warriors. But some were mere mortals, and even many soldiers and fighters were unfit to face the impossible powerful threats of Arcadia. The New Imperium formed a safe haven for all who wished for sanctuary, and it's borders contain a large civilian population. While ethically the right thing to do, this puts them at a severe disadvantage, as they have far higher resource demands in the area of food and water and other such essentials, and need to protect this civilian population in the event of war.

Multiverse Rising: Reborn

The Story Up Until Now

About five years ago, the Anomaly took place. In an immeasurably vast multiverse, one universe experienced a strange event, the Anomaly, that could forever alter the future of the Multiverse at large. Something wiped out all the inhabitants of this world, and covered the planet in strange devices that allowed for inter-universal travel called Terminals. The Anomaly also caused Arcadia to become a hub world, a place between dimensions, and as such all those who would normally be cast out of their own dimension ended up in Arcadia. In addition, a mysterious force began dragging powerful warriors from all over the multiverse into Arcadia. This rapidly populated Arcadia with dangerous and powerful forces, who fought for control over the Terminals, which could form the only route home, or a great chance to expand one's power to other universes.

First came the Dark Outliners, an inter-universal organisation tasked with keeping balance in the multiverse. They attempt to limit inter-universal traffic as much as possible in order to retain what they believe to be the natural order of things, and quell anomalies such as this. So when such a massive event occurred, they sent their best and brightest to investigate. They fleet hovered over the planet, and they attempted to investigate both the anomaly itself, and those that had been dragged here. This inevitably brought them into conflict with many of the elements on the planet's surface.

One such element was the New Imperium. Nova, the Star Child, was reborn here from it's death in the Materium of the Warhammer universe. This immensely powerful being at first wondered at the Terminals, and the strange beings of Arcadia. But soon he set about conquering it, with the intention of unifying all universes under a single banner of justice. He called forth armies of soldiers from his universe, powerful superhuman angels of death who wiped out his opposition. This was directly opposed to the goals of the Outliners, and they clashed often based on this, although the manipulative Outliners rarely confronted him in direct combat.

The last and perhaps most dangerous force on Arcadia was the Alliance of Conquerors. This league of supervillains had gathered together in order to take control of as much of the multiverse as possible, an expanding tyranny backed by their immense power. Their original cast included Bowser, Ultron, and Gidorah. These warriors were the greatest enemies to the New Imperium, and the clash between these parties nearly set the surface of the world ablaze.

Eventually, after many adventures, twists and turns, peace was declared. Each of the factions took control of a certain area. The New Imperium took control of the United States, as well as Mexico and the surrounding, smaller countries. The Alliance of Conquerors took control of Canada, as well as Alaska. The Outliners, being beyond petty struggles for territory, remained in space, maintaining several outposts in different universes. Although it is believed that they have several secret outposts on the ground. Sweden is owned by none of the factions, but has instead become infested with creatures called Kolons, who have turned the entire place into a nuclear hazard zone that just doesn't stop exploding.

But peace between these groups is uneasy, and war looms on the horizon. Even as still more warriors and even armies are drawn into Arcadia, further complicating matters. What these new arrivals do may alter the course of history.

An ancient evil also looms. For once, a powerful force annihilated all life in Arcadia. And it's new inhabitants may soon discover the true nature of the Anomaly, and the danger it has brought.

Nah, the Imperial Guard never arrived on Arcadia. All Imperial troops were called here through a massive Eternity Gate created by the Emperor himself, spread out over three occasions. He called the Salamanders first, the Dark Angels second, the Dragons third.
